We also now know what some of us suspected all along: that when Trump claimed to have won on election night, he knew the votes hadn't been counted yet and that there was a good chance PA, WI and MI would swing against him this time. It was planned before Election Day: he would claim to have won, no matter what, and he also predicted correctly that his supporters would fall for it.

Most of them probably know stories like the Vincent Foster one are horseshit, but they'll grasp at any straw to rationalize their partisanship as something other than the racism, sexism, xenophobia and/or plain old greed it almost always boils down to.

if people trust a source, they'll be far more likely to swallow the lies without question, or even after some minor questioning.
We know that the most damning footage of Jan 6th was never shown to the fox news/oan/other networks; it was denied by the likes of bannon and so many republican House representatives and Senators after the fact... even though a lot of those people said something very different in the days just after. The Jan 6th inquiry was framed as a witch hunt, as political theatre, as lies and (again) the same culprits refused to air the most damning footage.
Until politicians can be honest enough to hold eachother accountable for their misdeeds, no matter the party, i don't know where things will change. It's only such events as Helene that might spark some wild illumination about climate change in that portion of voters, and stuff like Roe.v.Wade which affects women across the political spectrum.

What's crazy to me is that after all that has come out about Trump they still support him. Oh they realize he's a complete piece of shit human being but they don't care. They can't even explain his policies clearly but they don't care. They know what he says and they still don't care.
