2009 News & Views: Discussions and Announcements for the Survivorphile

We would rather you not do that. You have no way of knowing if a submitted story might be rejected for some reason or another (or put in a different category than you choose). Stories do not need to be added to your card until they have posted.

If it helps, I have done an awesome spreadsheet to help me keep track of things. Basically, it allows me to track stories by category, I enter them in along with the date I submitted them. Then when they get approved I add the date they were published. I then enter them into my scorecard either that day or on Wednesday (in time for CrimsonMaiden).

The other thing is that it allows me to plan future stories as well. I have an ideas column where I make brief notes as ideas pop into my head. Then I can go back and look for something that pops out at me, during those dry spells. Only thing is that during busy times like the past couple of weeks those ideas keep piling up and become daunting.

Scoreboard updated. I'll get the newest participants scorecard threads created and the immunity thread updated after supper.

I do the same things as well. I had all my new possible stories in there and it really confused me so I took them out and put all those in a different spreadsheet.

OK...sorry for this one...but back to the whole chapter thing. Does even the first chapter count towards the contest? My sci-fi is turning into an actual novel, but for me novels/novellas are my staple so it would be a waste there. I already have four of those in the works and ideas for several others...so I just need the short stuff. My ideal is to post what I have so far as Part 1 get my 3 points and come back to it later...when the pressure of the contest is not breathing down my neck.

You can only count it for Survivor if it's a self-contained, complete story. No "Ch. 1" in the title, no "to be continued" in the text.

Another teenie clarification. On my story At the Bank Ch. 1 It is a complete story. When I first submitted it I thought because I was using recurring characters for each subsequent story it needed be in chapter form. My next installment is Held up and the third will be The Transport. If I titled it
At the Bank: Held Up, would that be acceptable? It will be a stand-alone piece.

Yes, that seems acceptable.

That concerns me, because I have several series in which, lazy lummox that I am, I title "Marian & Ryan, CH 5" or "Angel, CH 10" or similar names. I do this because they are stories involving the same persons or person, but each one is a stand-alone story. I don't develop or describe the characters in each part, since it seems redundant to do so, but they are just stroke stories anyhow, and and a reader can certainly get off on one without reading any of the others. At the same time, if a reader really wants to follow the lives of the charsacters, they can do so by reading the parts in order.

I'll do my best to get the scoreboard updated by the end of the night. I've been sick and just didn't feel like sitting here long enough to get it done yesterday.

Take care of yourself, Crim. :rose: That's a lot more important than keeping the scoreboard up to date, especially in Feb.

Just a heads up

Hey guys & gals,

We found a place to rent and will be moving very soon. I'm going to busy with packing, moving, & unpacking for the next month or so. I've let Lauren know that I won't be around much for a bit. If you need anything during this time, either continue to post here or send Lauren a pm. I'll be in and out but won't be able to spend much time until we get settled in the new place.

Until further notice, if you wish to have your score on the Scoreboard, send Lauren a pm. I can't guarantee that I will be able to do it on a weekly basis until after we get settled.

Good luck on the move. I've got some time this weekend if you need some help, and I have a big pickup truck and a hand truck if you need them.

Sorry, folks. I've been busy with stuff and trying to juggle this along with the Poetry Survivor. I'll have everything going on sometime today.

There. Let me know if I missed anything. Other than the scoreboard, I know I'm missing that.

Chapters vs Eligible Follow-ups

I received so many requests that I have done a follow-up story to my Muffin MILF (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=406123) called MILF's Bunny Fun in the Toys & Masturbation category (http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=411116). As I understand the rules it qualifies for the contest, because even though it has the same main characters and is a follow-up to an earlier story, it is stand alone in that someone does not need to read Muffin MILF to understand and enjoy this story and all references to the earlier story are fully explained. Is this correct? I have at least one more story that readers are screaming for more of the characters so I really need some clarification here.

Yes, those two stories are well within the rules.
