“Defend the weak, stand for what is right, never take up arms for an unworthy cause.”
Leyton recited his oath as he pulled her into his arms. The night was chilly, but not cold enough that he needs more than her warmth. He lifted his hands to her face, turning it to look at him, he put his lips to hers. The fire from before roared to life and his world seemed to melt away and they were alone on the mountain.
“You said in darkness we will find light, I have a correction.”
He looked at her, their eyes locked even as she leaned her face against his hand.
“We have found our light, I would never have met you without the darkness of this day. Now we will be the light that guides others out of the darkness”
He pulled her into him, their lips met again and for him, the world was filled with light. Once their embrace broke, he pulled her close, leaning his head over her shoulder, resting cheek to cheek. His hands found their match as his arms embraced her. He laced his fingers into her’s and sighed at the feeling.
“Shall we sit here all night, or should we return to our chamber.”
He used the plural and the singular in hopes she would get the idea. It was rude to assume so much, but all he could think about was holding her tonight.
