A Murder of Crows

Anyone recall 'Duck, Duck, Goose?' Haven't heard that in over seventy years.
Yeah, geese are so ornery it takes two ducks to satisfy them.

Oops, this wasn't the filthy answers to normal questions thread. I'm getting bad about that.

Please don't take offense, but no, I haven't. Then again, I've only been around since 1989.

A group of Kiwi are called a tribe.....
Otherwise known as a, "Bunch of drunken lunatics."

I've been wracking my brain and cannot think of an example of "murder of crows" being used in fiction. The only use that comes to mind is Sting's song "All This Time." This is the verse:

Two priests came 'round our house tonight
One young, one old, to offer prayers for the dying to serve the final rite
One to learn, one to teach which way the cold wind blows
And fussing and flapping in priestly black like a murder of crows

There are apparently at least half a dozen authors who named a book or series "Murder of Crows" or included it in their titles.

A sulk of teenagers?

I heard the comedy team behind Not the Nine O'clock news invented the term 'flange' as a collective noun for gorillas. A few months later it appeared in a scientific publication

There is a quaint term for a group or flock of crows. It's called, "A Murder of Crows." They have other names as well for the collection of the birds of doom. While the most popular term for a group of crows is a murder, but a group of crows can also be called a mob, horde, parcel, or muster. I've never used any of these in a story, but I think I might want to. Crows are also called Ravens, but they are the same birds. I had that straight from the Crows mouth. That and Nevermore were about all the old bird said.

What odd or old sayings have you used in your stories?
They are NOT the same birds. Crows say CAW, ravens say NEVERMORE!

That's absurd. Next you'll be telling me that the collective noun for dildoes is a parliament.

But... then... how do you explain THIS?
That appears to be the place where British dildoes meet to form a government, where they decide on what diameter and length are appropriate, the type and amount of lube required, how much foreplay is needed, etc.

As if the current government would be gracious enough to use lube...

Oh dear, straying into politics.
Yeah, I don't want to get too far into the weeds. A generic joke about governments in general does look like an attractive nuisance, in hindsight.

But, since I can't resist answering the question, some dildoes obviously believe the fucked should be self-lubricating.
