I have already posted on pending submission, so this one doesn't count, but I wanted to post this for my Aunt and namesake who passed away just last week...

I hope no one minds

Last orders

*in loving memory
of my Aunt Marion
who passed away 05/05/04*

I lived my life
had all desired
shared to whom I could
what was there
and welcomed
with open heart
mind
and doors.

I embraced children
my own and strangers
toiled gardens
tended husband
before he passed away
then I started losing my mind
and no longer recognized
my loves

Everyone became strangers
heart broke down
in more ways than one
broken-hearted
triple bypass
diabetes
loss of self-control
weight gain
more pain than one can
count in a heart beat

Miserable alive
but yet lived to please
these strangers
only living in memory
of what I could remember
so confused
of what was
what could have been
and what is.
no longer my own life
I had already passed away

So now my last breath
I kiss you
you say your are my sweet niece
telling me stories
of how I touched you
remembering cookies
and praise
from badminton trophies
how we sat ours together
on a shelf
and I gave you my prized joy
my own racket from high school
many years ago.

Do not mourn me
for I will be happy
in this new life
much happier than now
anything has to be better
than this.

No announcement
of my passing
and cremate me
take my ashes to the old railroad track
where my husband and I first met
in MacAdam
before we married
and scatter me there
over the tracks
so I might once again tremble
in the passion of power
in the arms of the man I loved so.

thanks, I just wanted to say it is awful how age can ravage with dementia, alzeimers, MS, and other illness as the body breaks down...
We feel it as loving families, but we don't live it and it is heartwrenching.

Thank YOU, Tris... I think these challenges are fun, tho I admit my entry this time was less than satisfactory. I had something super worked out... and 3 back to back ball games and 4 baths later I was just too exhausted to think.

But keep challenging us... it's good exercise!

ok...let's see... y'all know I like all things mystical... so put on your magic clothes and I will find just the perfect word or phrase. Would someone else like to think of a form? Makes it tougher... but more interesting... I'll post one tomorrow... someone else post a form... and we'll see what happens...
