A question for those who shave/wax

There's only one way of changing your skin color anywhere, and that's by using a commercial bleaching cream. I don't suggest doing it, because it's so very potentially dangerous.

Dark-skinned and ethnic women have a tendency to be 'browner' in the genital area, and there's nothing wrong with that. Every person has diffrenly colored skin. Just like diffrently colored hair (everywhere!).

The pictures where they're all "Clean and one color"ed is body makeup on porn stars, or digital airbrushing.

And seriously guys, about my previous post....Vitamin E oil is SO much cheaper than all these other products you're mentioning...you can get like a 2-month supply for about 2-3 dollars. And not only will the mix of lotion/Vit. E totally prevent razor burn and bumps, but it's also juts downright GOOD for your skin. I use the mix everywhere, not just on the parts I shave, and my skin is in WONDERFUL condition. It literally GLOWS! I don't mean to sound pushy but I -KNOW- this works and ALL OF YOU should try it.

*little shove* NOW GO BUY SOME!!!

Yikes, no way. I use Vitamen E cream elsewhere (hands etc., wherever there is injury or burn), but geting anytype lotion, even with aloe or E in, near genital areas and there is major allergic reactions...that is me though, I am allergic to many things which go on the skin., even those with supposedly natural ingredients in them..problem is most lotions and potions are chemically based and the E etc. is an additive, not the base.

See, this is where I think you might have took me wrong. I'm not talking a Vitamin E cream, because you're absoluetly right in thinking the Vitamin E is just an additive (and in some cases, not a very generously used one).

What I mean is using a mixture that you put in your own hands yourself, of a good sized squirt/pump of a quality, sensitive-skin soothing lotion AND a ratio of 1 part -Pure- Vitamin E oil to your 2 parts lotion. Mix these two up in your hands so they emulsify, then apply directly to your skin.

Pure Vitamin E oil should be found easily in any good vitamin/suppliment store, if you don't have a Long's Drugs, Wal-Mart, or Walgreen's anywhere around. Just look on the back of the label, it should read "Pure Vitamin E Oil"...no chemicals, no additives.

Lotion made especially for sensitive skin, especially your face (causes no breakouts) and other more 'delicate' parts (no burning or greasy feel) is Cetaphil. My Derm. recommended it to me, and it's awesome! Have you tried that out yet?

My skin is so rash-prone and delicate (being a natrual redhead helps too, grrr) I get sunburned while driving to the grocery store! And Cetaphil's one of the only lotions I can use. Laundry soap, scented toilet paper (please don't ask. Ouch!) and some perfumes can make me rash, too. Believe me, sweetheart, I know where you're coming from.

A great big bottle of Cetaphil will only cost you about 11-12 US bucks. If you haven't tried it out yet, please think about it. It's really REALLY good stuff. :cathappy:

bought it will try nd let ya know lol x

Oh, -please- do let me know! I've been recommending this to my previous clients when I worked as a beauty/cosmetics consultant and so far, I've gotten good reviews, but the more people that use it, the bigger statistics ratio I have!

Hmm, sorry, I have used many sensitive skin products both from high profile name companies and health food outlets, and nearly every one gives me skin problems, some worse than others but definately none of them are fun. Frtunately we are both high skin allergy types so understand each other's problems, though he can at least use some soaps...I just avoid soap like the plague....lol, we even have massive allergies to anti perspirants, even the sensitive skin ones. I live through using Sorbolene to wash, and avoiding most other products. Out of interest, I have also had huge issues with many of the facial products for super sensitive skin, and unfortunately it seems to be getting worse with age, but that is to be expected I guess.

Have you tried the Aveeno Oatmeal based products? I have super sensitive skin too and these work pretty well for me. They come in the unscented, no yucky stuff added safe for babies variety which is what I usually go for.

I have used Aveeno Oatmeal product for sensitive shaving for over 8 years and love the products.

I shave every once in a while, but very rarely because I absolutely hate the ruff stubble that pops up by the next day. While I shower every day, I can not shave that area every day, it gets red, swollen, itchy, and burns. Does waxing help with this?

Any suggestions? I see all these pictures of cleanly shaven men and women and they look so soft, never irritated or anything...I'm jealous.

I think waxing is GREAT. I usually wax every 6-8 weeks and shave between. It's not as rough and stubbly. Make sure you exfoliate well.

Find a great waxer and your set.

As a guy, I've tried both waxing (brazilian/legs) and shaving. I really liked the waxing, but three days later I was getting stubbles again. For the last year, it's just shaving. Pubes and legs daily, in the shower when I'm done washing, nice shaving cream, sharp Quatro blades and patience. I have sensitive skin as well and I can tell when the blade is getting dull by the razor burn I get. A little baby powder in the pubic area when I dress for work and no issues. Good luck to all.
