Accents that turn me on and off ...

I have to say i find southern usa accents a big turn on my fav being south Carolina, new Orleans, also southern ireland, and south African, have to admit to going in the yahoo south Carolina in yahoo chat and just listening to them..sad i know but so hot and horny..

I live in Florida but not many southern accents here. I do find when I go to Georgia and Alabama the gals there and their accents drive me wild.

That's stinks. I love the UK gals and their sultry voices. That Nigela and her cooking show sure melts me.

Yes, Secretlover1. I've been to the UK plenty of times and I'm fully aware of all the different dialects.

It's not that I "dislike" them and truth be told I find some are more appealing than others (that is if I want to start rating them in terms of preference). And yes... I've also had sex with a few British gals. Amongst them a Geordie from Newcastle and a cockney from London. They were great. Honest.

But as a general rule the whole "Anglo/Celtic" sound as emitted through a woman's nose doesn't particularly give me wood.

You had sex with a Geordie and a cockney? Oh right. They're both English! And I for one do not talk through my nose. Each to their own. I find some accents repellent also but maybe that's too much ifs generalisation as much as I find someone attractive I can also find them repellent no matter what their accent, race etc,.

I find certain accents silly, so I guess that would count as a turn off. East Indian, Boston suburb, and Welsh are all that would not add to a woman's attractiveness.
French accents are hot, but not the Quebecois, proper Parisian while speaking English. Southern English accents on women are pretty hot, too.

I will confess that there are certain accents that will make my head turn......I have had the pleasure/luck to talk with a couple of lovely British ladies and they made me sit up and take notice.....I also have a weakness for Aus accents......and a soft southern drawl........also hot......the french ones I have heard can be hot but if they are so thick that I have trouble understanding them it can be a distraction. I had to go back and add the latina and also a soft asian accent........and those are also in no particular order.

My own voice has the midwest US accent......not sure if it is the accent or just the depth of my tone but I have been told I have a sexy voice.....:D

I wish I could remember where the 2 that I spoke to were from......but both had lovely accents.......sadly I have lost touch with them both, but there are a couple that have posted audio stories that I love to listen to.

By welsh do you mean ALL of Wales or just the valley girls who sound like Charlotte Church?

Scottish (think that's only because of a amazingly hot glaswegian I met a few years ago - leagues apart so I settled with hearing her voice for an hour :)) and Geordie I quite like. In fact I quite like all northern British accents but then sometimes they sound awful. Like anywhere I guess, spoken like a chav is a bit of a turnoff. Also Welsh and Irish accents do it for me. Outside the UK I don't really love or hate any.

Actually thinking about it, even saying all that rubbish above I don't really care for accents at all in that I am attracted to all and turned off by all as well. Guess it depends on the way they speak rather than the accent they speak in. Ere, over ere, innits likes doesn't sound any better in London than it does in Bristol (although I don't think Londoners stick an L on the end of idea for no reason haha) but I'd love to hear an Aussie or an American say it :D

This is a very tough one given the fact I am first turnned on or off by a voice. Being blind means the voice is the first thing I hear when talking to someone rather then seeing the outer shell.

In no real order and with examples where possible...
Ireish: Any of the Corrs sisters
Southern USA: That little twang they get sometimes... Mmm
West Coast USA: Not quite the 'Oh my god' Valley girl but close to it. Kind of a Cordelia from Buffy or Penny from Big Bang Theory
Scottish
Latin: Has to be a thick accent here. Not the Americanised version. Think Sofia Vagara from Modern Family but huskier
British: Upper Crust like Kira Nightley and Emma Watson down to Near Chav like Billie Piper.
Welsh: Two words... Eve Miles!!!

And as always... Pauley Parette from NCIS. Fucking yum and a half!!!

I like this thread....as a straight guy:

Turn-ons: Southern US, upper-class British, Indian, French, Italian, Australian, Irish, British Carribean (Jamaica/Trinidad/Bahamas/etc.)

Turn-offs: New York/North Jersey, Boston, Dakotas/Minnesota, working-class British (think Daphne from Frasier--Jane Leeves is cute but not a fan of the accent she uses on the show), German

I grew up in the Philly area, went to school in Boston, and live in North Carolina now...I have a slight Philly accent but not too much of one (my dad was a military brat and grew up all over, my mom is from the south but hadn't lived there for 10 years and had lost most of her accent by the time I was born). The "turn off" accents aren't deal breakers for the person as a whole, just not a huge fan of them, especially Boston and NY. And there are other types of girls who I'm a fan of for other reasons (Latina, East Asian) but don't feel one way or the other about the accent itself.

Turn Ons: Southern US, British Type (English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Australian, New Zeland, etc.)

Turn Offs: None really

Any posh UK female accent is great! Also any lass from Scotland's accent is usually hot for me!
Throw the American south twang in there as well from a woman..

luv american women accents....
I am aussie here

Just wanted to point out that there are many different types of accents here in the United States. There's the North-Easterner accent (New York, Massachusets, etc), then there's the southern accent (Georgia, Texas, Mississipi, etc), then there's the mid-western accent (the Dakotas, Minnosota, Wyoming) and then there's the western accent (Calforina, Oregon, Nevada, Washington.)

What I love is when people say to me "I have no accent." I'm like "Go spend time in ___________. You'll have an accent."

I love British, Irish, Scottish and Australian accents. I can't stand South American accents, but that's probably because I had a fling with a guy from Guatemala and realized that everything he did was a turn-off to me.

Scottish

I'm Scottish and have to say I actually think Scottish men's accents with a deep voice is sexy as hell. I also love a deep American accent. For me it's more about the tone and if it gives goosebumps imagining what it would sound like saying certain words in my ear.
