Yesterday I noticed that if I do duolingo on the computer gather than use the app, it offers at least a little grammar in Welsh as well. That cleared up one weird thing I'd been wondering about regarding the conjugation of to be. :)

Yeah, the web version gives more grammatical info than the phone version. The other thing you can do is view the discussion for each question, which often gets a bit more into the grammar.

Okay I asked Bramblethorn and I'm going to ask Primalex: without being specific, what do you do for work? I have the impression you work in the Civil Service.

Yep, civil service is about right.

What is your favorite skin care product? What kind of makeup do you like wearing?

My preference of makeup would be none, but I wear makeup because without it I look even less what I'd prefer to look like. It's a big deal for me to let people see me without makeup.

I wear makeup that makes it look like I'm not wearing (a ton of) makeup. My routine is the same for everyday makeup and festivities. Foundation, sometimes a dab of some sort of contouring and rouge if I'm feeling ambitious, brow pencil, mascara, sometimes lipstick or lip gloss but usually tinted lipbalm, good to go.

I can't do pretty eyeshadow thingies, I feel like it would require a lot more skill than I have. When I try, I end up looking like I have a black eye. I rarely bother with eyeliner and such either because an unfortunate feature on my other eye makes it too difficult for my skill level to get it even.

I don't like skin care and it really shows. There are times when I get an urge to do something about it but it usually doesn't last long. I don't like my body or how I look, so excessive touching myself and primping has felt awkward, skin care goes into this category.

So I remove make up, slap on some serum and moisturizer and that's it. I try to get it done as quickly as possible because it feels like such a waste of time and I don't like it, so it sometimes leads to me not removing my makeup as well as I should ane that leads to more problems.

I should do more skin care, because my skin is not at a good place at all. Maybe I'll start with one my skin care bouts again. If I have to choose a favorite product, I think it'd be facial oil that I use to remove my makeup. I don't have any specific brand I like more than others. I like the oil, because it's reasonable effective and gets rid of the makeup quickly.

I want to be someone who knows how to do makeup and skin care or at least isn't afraid of it, but I'm really not that person. :(

Please share your feeling on use of a bidet.

They are a rarity here in the US.

They are a rarity here as well.

To me they're clumsy and take up space, one more thing to clean etc. I guess I'd get used to them eventually. It's better than nothing.

What we do here is bidet showers. It's a little handheld shower that's attached to the sink here and you can use that to wash your nether regions while sitting on the toilet. Most public bathrooms have them as well.

I like bidet showers, they're a simple way to keep things feeling fresh all through the day even when I'm bleeding out of my snatch. Saves on toilet paper costs. Good for masturbating with if you're so inclined, better than a regular shower because it's smaller and more concentrated yet easier to maneuver than keeping just the faucet on, and at least in my case the hose is long enough to reach the shower so no need to get your rocks off on the can. And they're handy when you're cleaning the bathroom, too.

I don't like the way I look at all so I understand that. I do like playing around with eye shadow but I don't consider myself skilled maybe just more willing to try something even if it doesn't turn out.

I cannot contour at all. I've switched to a cc cream instead of foundation but haven't been wearing it because I'd sweat it off even before I left the house but also I don't want it rubbing onto the masks.

I do like skin care because even though I don't like the way I look, it can at least make my skin soft. I should use more spf but I haven't really found one I like. I like using face masks sometimes just because they feel good and can make my skin feel nice. It's definitely not about making myself look better because I don't really think that is possible.

I've wanted a bidet shower attachment for freshening up.

Thanks, I'll look into that as a much less expensive alternative.

I use face masks sometimes too, when my skin feels extra awful and dry in the winter. I have found one I really like. I don't remember the name and I tried to google but *crickets*. I just remember how the package looks like and where to find it one department store. I'll try to remember to take a pic when I buy it next, maybe that's my favorite product after all!

I should use sun protection as well, because I burn very easily. I haven't been able to find anything that works on my face. I have one that doesn't make me look like a complete grease ball immediately (I have a lot of problems with that even on good days), but it seems to go the other way and really dry out my skin. So I only use it sparingly on days I know I'll be out a lot. I should use it regularly, but...

That may be why I don't like spf much is because anything I try with it makes my skin either greasy or dry.

I understand about not really remembering the name of something. I have an easier time remembering where it is and having an idea of what it looks like than the name on many things.

How did you find your favorite bar?

How did you get in to trivia?

I found my favorite bar simply by moving next to it. :D

It changed owners about a year after I moved, and while it was okay with the previous owners, the new ones made it great.

My family has always been into trivia. For as long as I can remember my family has taken the quiz published in one magazine on Saturdays. Ever since I moved to live on my own, my parents have saved the magazines and they've asked me the questions of the quizzes when I've visited them.

What is your favorite season?

Mushroom season, so basically March to December. Although January and February are birthday season and that's good too... 🤔

I can't really choose between late spring and early fall. I absolutely love the light of spring. It starts slow but then picks up pace and all of a sudden the days are long and full of hope and promise. I don't think anybody can truly get this unless you live somewhere where the number of hours of unclouded daylight per *month* can be counted with the fingers of a single hand. I live far enough south so that the sun rises above the horizon in winter, but only barely, and it's just so cloudy here that it's rare to see actual daylight even in the south. After that all the light of spring is so heady, and in late spring the flowers are blooming, there are things to forage and put onto your plate, asparagus... It's good stuff.

But I love early fall as well. When there's crisp in the air, blue skies, the leaves turn, there's mushrooms in the forest and all the great produce in stores... I've always loved school too, so schools starting still energizes me a little even though I'm not in school anymore myself. And I get to wear my mustard trench and match the leaves.

Would you be in a relationship with someone vanilla?

I don't think I could be in a mono relationship with someone vanilla. As life has happened and things changed, these days I mostly get my bdsm on with someone else than the person I live with and have been together with for a long time.

What scares you?

Failing, dogs, tornadoes, that I've peaked and there's nothing but decline in my future (I think this is true, I just don't want to think about it), public speaking and in general being the center of any kind of attention, that there's nothing fun to look forward to, guns, letting someone close enough to know my secrets and what lies beneath.

I could go on for a while, but I'll stop here.

Guilty pleasure entertainment? (magazines, tv shows, movies...)

Also :waves: :D

Up Thread you mentioned SPF usage being too greasy or too dry. Something that might help is to find a milky texture lotion specifically for the face. Mineral based is preferable as the chemical kind can cause irritation, and then there is the environment, of course. :) Here’s an example.

Do you have any fears you have overcome?

I was going to say going to the hairdresser or buying cosmetics in an actual, physical store but they never were fears as such, just something I really hated. I still hate buying cosmetics, but I don't avoid it like I used to. And the hairdresser hatred was solved by finding a hairdresser that I like and who doesn't make me feel bad about my hair.

I don't think I've fully overcome any fears. I no longer start to cry if a dog comes to sniff me, at least not every time, but I'm still plenty afraid of them. It's a work in progress.

Hey you! How are you, where have you been? You owe me an explanation, missy!

Re:SPF. I only use stuff intended for face on my face and the problem has remained. I haven't tried the one you linked, maybe I'll try that next year. It's getting dark here now, so I have around 8 months until I have to think about this again

Guilty pleasures. Hmm. I don't really think I have any pleasures I feel guilty about. Especially now that work drains me out most days, I can rarely concentrate on anything heavy and high brow. I watched The Bold Type recently and it was perfect for my need for light stuff. I'm currently watching Derry Girls and that's great too.

But they're not guilty pleasures by a long shot. :)

If you don’t mind sharing, do you have a history with dogs?

Nothing super dramatic. Like I haven't been ripped apart by a pack of rabid dogs. A dog ran me over and growled at me when I was a kid and my dad had to scare it away. But I never cared for dogs before that either. I've never had a positive dog experience.

I've learned to tolerate dogs that I know and have frequent contact with. Or rather have frequent contact with their owners. I close my eyes, I stand very still and stiff and let them sniff me when I meet them for the first time, the dog owners from then on do their best to keep the dogs away from me. I learn to tolerate being around those dogs. I even touched my best friend's Great Dane once voluntarily and promptly started to cry afterwards because it was scary. The dog died a few days after that, I'm not sure if these two events are connected or not.

But random dogs or dogs that I meet for the first time that come to me and sniff me or bark at me or whatever, I sometimes cry. And I have to work hard to keep myself from kicking the tiny dogs if they bark at me or jump against me or something. I've never kicked a dog, but it's my first reaction when they come to me. I press my arms across my chest, lift my shoulders to my ears and I want to kick the dog away. And sometimes I cry. With big dogs I do the same thing with my arms and shoulders, I turn my back towards the dog and I get really stiff. And definitely cry.

I can walk past a dog okay now, I don't have to go to the other side of the street or anything. I've progressed.

Hi

I’ve been around once in awhile, just mostly silent. Will talk later. :)

Edit: I used that lotion as an example because it’s what I use. But there are lots out there to choose from.

I suppose “guilty pleasure” sounds kind of bad. :)
