Liar, it may be a function of my limited world view, but I'm always impressed with the way you know the English language. Your poetry is amazing, which is really hard in a foreign language, and you can out-flirt the flirts. How did a Swede learn English like a native?

The Cosby Show and McGyver.

No kidding.

Besides, writing is much easier in a foreign language. In Swedish i instincively hear when something sounds like poop. Which just means I get way too cautious when using it.

I had a huge crush on McGyver.

*swoon*

McGyver was hot, thought quickly on his feet, and he was good with his hands.

Gods Promise to his plantations? Never heard of that. Is he talking about actual farming plantations, or is that a metaphor for God putting people on earth?

The second case.

Sighs...thas how rumors get started in a small knit community such as this.

I retract my statement about knickers...although I did sort through my drawer of collectibles to see if the initials on any matched.

If I recall...Shereads was one of first to get in my face big time, ahem...

amicus...

(And she won't be the last.)

That's one of the many reasons we love her.

And besides, the only reason to be interrested in Shereads knickers would be if they contained a Shereads. If ami have a pair to bet with, I doubt that is the case.

Why would anyone be interested in amicus' underwear, regardless of their contents?

Ah, yes, the Congregational theocracy of Boston...the chosen people's covenant with God...break the covenant and the chosen lose his protection.

"What He hath planted, He will maintain...His own plantation shall prosper and flourish..."

Cotton wasn't such a big fan of separation of church and state, as I recall.

I'm not such a big fan of the Puritans. I blame them for America's repressed sexuality.

Look at our country on a map. See how small it is? Look at our population. Less than 9 millions. We just HAVE TO learn English, if we want to have anyone to talk to! :D

Were you a McGyver fan, too? Or did you learn your English from Beverly Hills 90210?

"Kelly, you can't have Dylan. I'M fucking him now!" screeched Brenda...

*raises eyebrows*

90210? Puh-lease! That was a show for the preppies. I was a communist rebel, thank you very much. I learned English when I was 5, by my mother. Not to mention I loved school just as much as Lisa Simpson does. I had English-speaking pen pals. I read English books and magazines. I dated guys who didn't know Swedish!

But yes, I did like McGyver.

No reason to be embarrassed - how do you not like a guy who can patch a bullet-riddled fuel hose with just a pen and some chewing gum?

It is fascinating to me ... well a number of things are, but first it is fascinating that one of the wealthiest countries in the world needs "hand-outs".

Second, it is no surprise to me that people wordwide are wanting to help. It is the general nature of humans to help everyone in a major disaster while walking by the poor and mentally ill person on the curb. ;)

Still, a number of things cross my mind in thinking about this thank you. I am not cold hearted; I am opinionated :D and curious, and questioning. I mean, I understand that the poor were left behind, which is a huge issue to me, but why when I turn on the news, particularly American news (other than the fact that the media sucks) do I hear nothing but quotes of "whoa is me - I am starving and have not had a burger in like ... 4 days (exagerrating, but it was stated by a 400 pound woman, and then I turned the channel to a doco on Africa) or I am going to sue the government! What a bunch of asses!"

Why, in fact, is everyone so down on the much beloved Bush government that the majority voted in, and so suddenly? This is interesting to me. This is very interesting.
