Amorous Goods, A Literotica Anthology Series, Season 4

I enjoyed her in Sucker Punch. I didn't see Lovecraft Country because I wasn't a huge fan of the source material, then when I heard Peele was directing it, it was a solid not bother. I figure there's always the chance I could have missed out, but seeing it wasn't given a second season probably not.

If you like nude Lovecraftian tentacle girls, give Dagon a watch, its...pretty out there.
Fish and gold!

I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons of Gotham, but it went so far down the crazy train I gave up on it.
I think they're doing a spin off of sorts now.
Yeah, the kid they picked to play a young Bruce Wayne was way too skinny to pull off the transition to the dark knight. It looked like they wanted to ignore the DC Universe and write their own. Just follow what exists!

I always figured they could never actually use Batman for legal/contract issues.
There is something to be said for being in your own continuity. Part of what I liked about the Joker movie was other than the end where it sets up how Martha/Thomas are killed, it wasn't part of the DCU

The sequel will feature Harley Quinn and one other villain in Arkham...meaning the movie will suck compared to the original.

But in general I am so Batman over saturated that it doesn't matter anymore. He's literally all DC has going for them in comics and close to that in movies.

DC was so close with Wonder Woman. With all it's flaws it was fun to watch, then came WW84 which killed everything. I loved Aqua Man, and now thanks to WW84 I'm terrified of what they're going to do to it. Batman was headed in the right direction after Snyder fixed Justice League but after WW84 I'm afraid to look at the new Batman.

Flash, my childhood DC favorite became something awful with Ezra Miller (they should have stayed with Grant Gustin). What's next? Jared Fogle from Subway as the Green Arrow? Charlie Sheen as Super Boy in Teen Titans? Tony Shalhoub playing Monk as Hawkman?

I'm very new to Literotica but this is interesting! I'll give it a go. So the idea is write it now and submit it seven months? Pretty sure I can do that. I'm not really familiar with the shows, but I think I get the general idea.

WW one was a solid movie and I like Gadot in the role, but ww2 was ugh.
I liked the most recent Batman, they made it small and a dark detective story and this version didn't want to be Wayne the playboy he was a social outcast. The Snyder verse to me was crap, Superman was always a boy scout and symbol of hope, this dark brooding god thing was shit.

Aquaman was better than I thought considering the character was lame, but I will skip two because if you're letting Ezra Miller star in Flash then you shouldn't have cut Heard's role to next to nothing(and she was a perfect Mera) but Hollywood is man's world, but according to them, we need to do better so don't forget that.

The amount of men crying Cavill is out as Superman is sickening. Like he had any acting ability whatsoever.

I think Gunn is taking on a sinking ship that can't be saved. The good news for DC is the MCU phase four(with the exception of spiderman and Doc strange 2) was awful, and phase five is looking to be worse

Heard should never be seen or - 'heard' from again.

If she'd had her way Depp would have been ruined - she was outed and she deserves everything she got.
Johnny Depp is garbage. A drunk punk who punches his way through life, and the truth is the two of them were miserable people who abused each other. But of course to people like you, only the man is a victim. Funny how little press her appeal, which she'll win, is getting.

But the main point-which you ignored, no surprise, is that compared to what Miller has done, neither her, nor anyone should be cut from DC.

But seeing you are an obvious supporter of 'justice' how do you think the family of the woman Baldwin murdered feels about the brand new movie he has coming out (Supercell) bet you don't mind that. Do you?

Baldwin picked up a prop gun on a movie set and yes I believe he pulled the trigger.
Murder - is probably too strong a word for what happened. There is a case to answer for manslaughter - there was no intent but I would suggest that he had a responsiblity to check the gun himself.
He should certainly face the music for that.
I'm interested in your catagorization of people like me, you know absolutely nothing about me and yet you spout off in your ignorance. These are the facts as they have been proven in one of your courts.
1 she abused her husband
2 she lied about the abuse he was supposed to have perpetrated on her.
3 she lied about giving 7 millions dollar to a charity for abused women and children
4 she painted herself as a beacon for abused women to flock to, merely to gain press coverage and promote her career.

In doing all of the above she set back the cause of abused women significantly - It's difficult enough for an abused woman to be believed, and to have such a high profile case where a woman is PROVED to be lying about the abuse doesnt exactly help.

So - given all of the above - I believe that she should suffer exactly the same as any man - who had been proved to perpatrate abuse on his spouse.

Johnny Depp - when accused of spousal abuse was dropped by disney -is he completely innocent? probably not, does that make the slightest bit of difference to her guilt? Absolutely not. She tried to ruin his career and further her own by claiming spousal abuse. Its only right that the shit that she threw at him (or left on his bed), came back to hit her squarely in the face.

And with regard to her appeal - You appear not to have heard that she has dropped her case, and has agreed to pay him the sum of $1 million. So, her chances of winning are about the same as yours...

And finally your statement about Depp punching his way through life - I'm not sure where you get that from. Of all the women he dated and was married to the only one that said he exhibeted any kind of violent behaviour was Ellen Barkin - who said he once threw a wine bottle accross a hotel room - but it never hit anyone, and that episode in itself is denied by Depp and despite there being other people allegedly present nobody has corobborated her story.

All of this is beside the point in any case - We were talking about Amber Heard - not Depp - and no matter his behaviour - she repeatedly assaulted and abused her then husband. If the metoo movement can destroy a man's career on the mere suspicion of spousal abuse - why should she get away with it?

at the risk of getting banned, again, for simply posting in this thread, I have to agree with Isobel. (even if she did think I just post shit to wind people up)

No matter what Johnny Depp did or didnt do - and going off what was presented at the trial - he didnt do many of the things he was accused of - She DID.

She was on tape telling him that he was being a baby for complaining when she slapped him - "it wasnt a punch it was a slap." she said.

She deliberatly mained him, cutting off part of his finger. -and there's documentation of that injury - proper medical proof seen by impartial medical professionals - not photoshopped photographs that would get a first grader an F in photography class.

She set out to ruin his career in order to promote her own, and probably for some other reasons best known to herself.

She deserves every ounce of the loathing and hatred heaped upon her. and As the doc says JD was cancelled for the mere accusation of spousal abuse. She deserves no less when it's proved beyond any doubt that SHE was the perpetrator of spousal abuse.

Wait a minute, you're telling me there is a contest in the style of Warehouse 13/Friday the 13th: The Series?

How did I not know this? They were awesome shows! I'm not normally one for entering the contests, but this one I just may have to have a go at if only for gits and shiggles of having my story part of the anthology!

Hmmm, what if a certain box with an oddly sweet aroma were to have some secret, but ONLY if bought on 4/20?

I keep finding veiled references to this concept in the strangest places.

In the Wiki for the Nightwish album 'Human Nature':

"On the topic of the seventh track on the album and the first track written, "Procession", Holopainen stated that the listener would have to delve into the lyrics to understand what the song is about, stating that the American television series Stranger Things was an influence for the song."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human._:II:_Nature.

"Together now, in this timeless parade
The living lie, dead afraid
Then they saw the moon, and found caring
We remember, as along came writing

Such worlds were there, zoos dead again
After all, we should`ve never appeared
Spaceship Earth, through the fields of time
They understood, as along came wisdom"

Iiiii ain't go not bodyyyyyyy

(Igor singing) I ain't got nobody, and nobody cares for me.. yakka tak ...

Could a relic produce the ability to go out of body? What havoc could ensue?

Hi, so I've been doing my research reading back on the showrunning thread and I get the sense of quite a canon regarding the anthology - not in the original inspiration sense, but the environment that authors have subsequently created. And apologies, but I simply don't have time to read the stories previously posted to gain confirmation. So... here is my understanding so far:

1. The Amorous Goods antique shop is set in North America
2. It was previously owned by an Uncle Lewis (now deceased)
3. It had been passed down to Vikki - smart, perky, inquisitive and somewhere in her 20s
4. She has a non-blood cousin called Dylan who assists her on her adventures.

Now, I'm perfectly happy with the general anthology concept, and in fact anthologies were some of my favourite viewing back in the 70s/80s, but mostly from a UK perspective - so think Hammer House of Horror, Tales of the Unexpected kind of thing. I would like to base a story in that universe (think run-down shop front in a London backstreet - the kind that might just be run by Peter Cushing) rather than in a North American one, but I don't want to tread on any toes. I would also love to ditch the Dylan character, focus on Vikki - an only child and something more of a loner than the strict canon character in the showthread - and her own relationship with items (or at least, one particular item) in the shop, give her a female friend who is damned if she's going to give back the gift from the shop Vikki gave her in a moment of ignorance, but leave the bulk of it as a one character story (Vikki), focussing on her initial acquisition of Amorous Goods.

I am aware, however, that there might be an expectation that I should stick more closely to an existing world built by others. Is there a view on this?

Lastly, and absolutely not a hill I care to die on, but Uncle Lewis doesn't sound such a convincing British name, but Uncle Walter does. However, that's only the tiniest of minor details...

Who says Vikki is the only relative? While there is this: " to the only remaining relative," that could be changed to " to the only KNOWN remaining relative, "

As indicated, the collector traveled the world over several decades. Given the history of Britain and the Occult (Merlin, Stonehenge, etc.) it's entirely plausible that he spent much time there and could have a relative unknown to Vikki. He may have set up another shop there, or had a descendant who did. The TV series that is the focus was set in Toronto, so the UK tie in is already there.

Now, suppose the North American Vikki has reason to travel to London in search of a relic and in her travels ... well ....

Yes, the part about Uncle Lewis's travels and the sources of many of his items was clear - I am more thinking of uprooting the shop and placing it in the UK instead, and having the main character (Vikki) as a Brit rather than Canadian or a US citizen. This is the way I would prefer to write a story because its the 'voice' I would feel comfortable with. If I tried to write with a North American voice I'd be bogged down on cross-checking minor details for authenticity (I have to Wiki the difference between nickels and dimes) and I'd lose sight of the actual story. And I'd still most likely get it wrong for North American readers.

However, I am also aware that there is a body of work loosely conforming to a particular universe. My question is really: bearing in mind I really don't want to put anyone's nose out, how far can I deviate from that previously established 'world'?

As I suggested, use the UK shop as a second shop, unknown the the Canadians. The rest of the basis can be applied accordingly.

Thanks, I'll have a go. If it there is a sense of it being a little 'off' from what has gone before I can only apologise...

Friday the 13th and Warehouse 13 were both about the MC's trying to gain the cursed items back, to save the general populace from their influence. So is our Vikki trying to do the same or is she trying to liquidate the store, to sell them, despite knowing they may confer certain amorous powers? I've an idea and I'm trying to figure out how the MC comes across the item. Recovering it or running across it in the store? Please help me understand the background.

I haven't figure out how to address this.

I thought we took care of it in the first outline years back, but I've slept since then.

Maybe think of Good Witch, Bad Witch. Good spell, bad spell. The shop is basically an antique store where you're bound to find most anything. They sell benign objects, but also sell objects known to be good. Or thought to be. But maybe they're not. Or maybe they are, but a buyer finds a way to distort the spell and do less than good things. The shop does not knowing sell cursed objects, but works to recover ones that were sold previously, or those that have been perverted by devious buyers.

In short, imagine.

Maybe the new owners are cursed, too: they can take the bad items out of circulation one at a time, but they have to put new ones out; they’re not evil people, like their uncle, but the pact wasn’t solely with him. It was tied to the shop. So they have to triage which items are the worst, putting them in the vault, but also live with the fact that there are “ambiguous” ones out there.

Thanks very much. This helps firm up my idea. I think my MC will be an agent of the store, searching for this particular object, but falls under its influence himself.
