Anyone for a nightcap?

Dude... not gonna happen.

I go to this event every chance I get (it occurs monthly). In the two years I've been going, I've not been approached by a man once. Women compliment my dress, heels, handbag, but men do not approach me.

What's the schedule for the next several events. With a simple device known as a full tank of gas I would gladly change your track record. ;)

Y'all are gonna go and make me vain.

I have something to celebrate - I got a [modest] raise today.

Having a final menage a trois (or two) to cap off my mini vacation.

What? Isn't that how all the rest of you finish off your vacations? ;)

Congratulations on your raise!

Did you go to the art event?

Details, please.

Minx,
Its so nice to see you back...I hope you can stay!

Listening to Piaf singing "Je ne regrette rien" courtesy of Bull Durham. And looking at a gorgeous snifter of Macallan Cask Strength that will cap off the bottom of the menage a trois that accompanied my most elegant dinner: Bol aux Legumes from Chez Chipotle. ;)

One of my favorite songs of all time.

I saw a production of "Piaf" in Vancouver when I was sixteen and the usually stoic K...cried like a baby at the end.

Supply ship arrives Monday. Until then, scraping by on leftovers.

Had a delicious mango lemonade the other night - and thought of you, K. :rose:

Nah... after a long day at work that included a decent raise [I feel so odd saying that, given that even with the raise I don't make a hell of a lot], it hit me that I didn't have anyone to go celebrate with, which made me a bit melancholy... so I stayed in and otherwise occupied myself. The museum does an event every month, so it isn't as if it was my only opportunity or anything. :)

Long evening of child challenges here... sticking with tea like a good girl.

Mmmm....the second scotch went really well with some good conversation. But now I think it's time to go catch a zillion zees.

Went to the liquor store and lucked in. I started up a conversation with a customer there. Turns out she used to work for a local restaurant and was responsible for the wine selection. I'm not stupid...I followed her around and picked up what she did.

Currently drinking McManis Family Vineyards' Viognier, listening to some Nat King Cole.

Dinner was chicken fajitas, preceded by some gin and tonics, and accompanied by Ghost Pines cabernet sauvignon. This dad is in pleasant buzz land.

Also looking forward to spreading some of his new sweet potato butter on toast tomorrow morning. :D

Aww shucks.

So, the supply ship arrived...and so did a storm. I can see it out there, all the food, just bobbing around in the waves. Hopefully the seas will calm down by tomorrow. We don't have anymore bendy carrots because we don't have any more carrots, period.

Jeebus what a weekend... I am too exhausted to be having a glass of Pinot with my pizza, but I am having a glass of pinot with my pizza.

Had a delightful white before dinner that was, in the words of the wine gal at Whole Paycheck, "a lot like albarino." Then had a bottle of a red mix that was also delightful. Both labels escape me at the moment, but they were both delightful.

Did I mention that the white and the red were both delightful? Good.

Me I'm just finishing a glass of that Vigonier that I started last night.

Let's hope for a report on next month's event. And I hope the boy is recovering well...

Well, this sucks. I hope the food makes its way nearer to you sooner rather than later.

The two Albarino labels that I have sampled are Martin Codax and Burgans. Both were quite excellent.

WW, I hope that Vigonier is good. I am abstaining tonight.

For me, tonight I am drinking iced tea. Raspberry and Lemon tea mixed together (decaf), with a little unsweetened apple juice mixed in. Mighty tasty. And goes well with the book I'm reading. Its a murder/mystery, out of of my norm, reading-wise, but requires sobriety to keep the characters straight. And there are beaucoup characters in this novel...

Excuses, excuses. :p

One takes their excuses where one finds them. ;)

Actually, the book is holding my interest, despite being outside my literary norm. I would at least like to be able to put together a coherent summary of the plot in the end...

As do I. Unfortunately, the latest satellite image, with it's giant red blob, does not paint a rosy picture. The ship has a set number of days it can wait before it has to leave. *Crosses fingers*

Some new friends left me a bottle of coconut rum. Pretty sweet for a regular nightcap but it did bring back memories of the Bahamas and those decadent rum drinks! Man, Bahamians make the wickedest mac n'cheese, too. I'd kill for some right now.

I talked to my dad on Father's Day, that was fantastic. We got in about ten minutes before the connection fizzled. Such a luxury to hear the voice of someone you love
