Are the same few people ruining your Lit experience?

Yes, but it’s not appropriate for this site.
That one would be appropriate because it would be something somebody did of their own accord. The problem with the CK Louis video (for me) is the last 10 seconds of it. That is not a message I want my son’s to take notice of. If they wanna smack their balls with a bat or stick a raccoon tail up their ass, then I would let them feel their own pain. If any of them were ever involved in rape, I would castrate them myself

Why would I be banned? What have I done to break rules? The first time I posted the video it was removed without so much as an explanation. It’s literally a video that’s on YouTube.

I would actually say that I do quite a good job staying within forum guidelines when posting. Have I ever crossed a line? Of course I have. But if I recall, you’ve threatened a person here a time or two. I seem to remember you were going to “look up their IP addresses”. If it wasn’t against forum rules, I’d post mine for you right here!
Yes. It was "hacked into Lit" to get my IP address.

This feels like The Purge. Every so often, things get tense on the boards. We all take our swings, swing our dicks and flap our tits at each other. Eventually, we calm down. AHTQ and I end up cybering like rabbits again. Trekka’s cycle ends. Dionysian Beast goes back to jerking off to his angry man posts. Dribble gets happy again.

That’s fair. I can completely understand why someone wouldn’t find it funny. There are certain bits I don’t find funny. I can also understand not liking the spirit behind it. Your points are all valid. And for what it’s worth, I don’t think anyone (or most people) want to send that message to their sons. But it’s a joke in a comedy bit. Not a parenting video. Sometimes comedy is offensive.

The problem for me is when we just censor something we don’t like. It is ambiguously a rule violation, if at all. Certainly less so than other content on this site.

And, to ydshecnot’s assertion it was posted initially to get a rise, that is incorrect. It’s simply not true.

I actually agree with the spirit of the thread. If someone is ruining your experience, walk on. If you want to engage with them, do so. But realize you might face a lashing for it from the public.

C’mon, you know a message board can “censor” anything it wants to; there’s no First Amendment right here. And yes, you were trying to get a rise, unless you are Louis CK’s agent and are trying to get him page views

Of course a message board can censor anything it wants. I make no claims that we are offered free speech protections here. They could specifically ban my posts. Or whatever they want. This is a forum that does tend to pride itself on free speech. Censoring something simply because you don’t like it is not a reason to censor something that isn’t clearly in violation of forum rules is kind of shitty.

Hey, when you’re Louis CK’s agent, you gotta get him views however you can. He’s an ass. And he’s always jerking off all over me.

You are wrong about me trying to get a rise. I was trying to prove a point. I’ve never been afraid to admit if I was trying to poke someone. I’ll willingly admit when I do. This was simply not the case in this instance.

While it is true that there is quite a lot of shaming and bullying behavior around here.
I decided long ago to just ignore the cunt brigade and all their suitors. Not with the ignore button but with my actual eyes. I just ignore some folks and move on with my day. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I got things like self control, maturity and a life (aka watching paint dry).
It’s still fun to read this thread though. Please continue.

You couldn't pay me to be a Mod. It's a thankless, unpaid job where you have people with vendettas against you for one particular action you did in the past. I'd post Elsa singing "Let it go" but @barefootgirl69 would shank me.
Another reason Mods should have a Mod name and a personal name. Just like AMpics. There is an "AMPicMod"

This is a other reason for mods to have separate mod accounts and personal accounts.

Let the angry mobs hate the mod account, while the person can make normal posts about whatever topics that other people can respond to or ignore like normal.

Then any moderation action that needed to be taken doesn't stir up the count brigade against the person behind it.

But that mod account is still accountable for it's actions.

Another message board I read did this last year and the result is phenomenal.

Admins and Mods should be openly active members of the community. Only two boards here still have Mod accounts, AmPicsMod and AHMod and I'm not sure either is very active or who has the keys. I think I know who has AHMod.

I just wish Laurel was still openly active like she used to be. I guess the site got too big and she dropped out to focus on the business side. I only see her now doing contest announcements.

But if I report something in AMpics. The Ampic mod doesn't write back and tell me they are going to leave controversial stuff because "he deserves" it.
You either moderate the same for everyone across the site, or you get a mod name so you can be fair without upsetting your friends (if you have to Mod their stuff)

As far as the Poli board, it has over 20,000 threads, which is about mid-point or maybe a bit above the number of threads on other boards, making it one of the more frequented boards here.
Cool.

How about if it was popular in its own little corner of Lit where people who wanted to read it could easily find it but it didn't show up in the main "new posts" list.

Or at least have an option of muting that forum from that list if an individual so chose to do so.

I pushed for that when the new forum was installed. This package (Xenforo) has the Hide Forum ability. It's just a setting in the Admin panel that can be flipped on or off with a simple checkbox to allow members to hide any forums they wish at will. There are several I'd like to hide.

For some reason, those pleas were ignored. They weren't even addressed, yeah or nay.

This is the announcement and feedback thread if you care to dig through it: https://forum.literotica.com/thread...-your-feedback-issues-requests.1561552/unread

When was the last time Manu actually responded to any of those?

The GB ran her off from posting for fun. She actually stated that there, there petty squabbles and blatant disregard for a rule she was strictly enforcing led her to conclude that posting in the forums was no longer fun and no longer something she would do. And she clearly meant it. I’ve never seen another playful post from her and it’s so unfortunate; she was a blast in the GB.

The forums are so different. Both BDSM and How To were adamant about their preference for the mods to be active forum members. It’s just entertaining to see the differences in mindsets.

Who messaged you and told you they were going to leave controversial stuff because you (or whomever) deserve it?

Sure they should. So they have the pulse on what is going on. That doesn't mean the moderation action should come from a "regular user" account that is not ignorable.

Lit promote the use of the ignore button so we can be adults and ignore content/posters we don't want to see. But that doesn't apply to mods. Mods can post content that is not moderator related and I can't ignore it.

Mods should be able to post moderation related content without it being ignorable. But their regular user accounts should not work with a different set of rules than everyone else's regular accounts.

Other boards that separate mod accounts from posting accounts seem to run with less open tension about moderation action.

Nope. Not at all. But some people may be offended by that for obvious reasons. I have no issues with it at all. I may poke at it a little bit, because it makes me laugh. But this is an adult sex forum. In fact, sometimes i identify as a little and post in purple writing. *teehee*

I’m just annoyed that the moderator has no issues with allowing things she enjoys or whatever, while removing something that she doesn’t like. The video I posted is a comedy bit and, whether she finds it funny or not, it’s hardly a real discussion about rape.

I was only pointing to the irony of how TPH is happy to tell others to ignore things that offend them, while removing comedy bits she deems offensive.

ETA: the video in question is a Louis CK video posted on YouTube. Apparently, Lit has stricter posting rules than YouTube. 😂
I missed the post, but LCK is an admitted sex offender. I agree that posting a self-confessed sex offender making jokes about sexual abuse is not ok.

Almost every board I frequent is this way. The two that had anonymous Mods had all sorts of troubles and the members were grateful when that ended and staff began to use their own IDs.

My experience is very very different from that.

And as a mod elsewhere having the separate account with the moderator powers makes life much MUCH nicer for me as the person.

And the phantom moderator account is respected for what it is.
