Are the same few people ruining your Lit experience?

You couldn't pay me to be a Mod. It's a thankless, unpaid job where you have people with vendettas against you for one particular action you did in the past. I'd post Elsa singing "Let it go" but @barefootgirl69 would shank me.

I was a moderator on a high-traffic website and I can honestly say it was one of the most horrendous times I've had on the internet. Having to deal with childish, racist and other illegal views on a daily basis was exhausting and I decided to quit the site to protect my mental health. This was meant to be a community of grown adults (just like here apparently!) but it was hard to find a mature conversation and mindset.

As a moderator, I tried to be fair to everyone - even those I wasn't a fan of. I removed what was against the rules but I didn't treat the place like my own personal playground.

Looking back, I wouldn't be a moderator if you paid me.

Well... Only if you paid me $15,000 a year.

There's been a lot of turnover here. Look at some of the sections and you'll see names that haven't been active for years. Nobody really knows what happened to them. Chargergirl, Ravensloft and Paendragon for example just seem to have vanished. Others resigned, but stayed as members.

It makes you look at things in different ways though. You see posts you don't like or that are distasteful, borderline aggressive, but they don't really break rules, so there isn't much you can do. You try to prompt and coax things a certain way hoping to guide the board away from certain behaviors.

Is our mod glad she started this thread?

Everyone having a sexy time?

We all havin a convo that’s playful and relevant to a sex site? Yeah? Everyone got a little chub?

Thanks TPH. You really know how to throw quite a party.

Newbies, younguns, Diosax, gather round, and I’ll tell ye tales of how we used to have virtual parties!

And we are epic fucking nerds here, who could never get into real Greek life, so we had an e-sorority house and a rival e-frat house, a virtual cottage in the woods, we hung in virtual hot tubs, e-boned each other in public threads, sometimes en masse, wasn’t there even a lit wedding once?

We’ve had thoughtful question threads and AMA threads. Supportive threads when people have split up or gone thru the big D. Kinky threads that explore all kindsa stuff.

We’ve held award shows before! With noms! And votes! Best New Litster. Funniest Litster. Hottest Litster. Lifetime Achievement Award. Cutest Couple.

There was flirtation. And mass flashing. Smiles, even. Large meet ups. Small meet ups. Life altering IRL sex.

Love.
Creativity.
And writing about sex.
And joking about sex.

IT CAN HAPPEN!

Wildest dreams kinda stuff!

This community has the potential be *magical* — I’ve seen it.

But we gotta come together.
And get naked.p
This all sounds amazing. I, for one, am looking forward to you being present and reviving the ways of the old folk.

There are quite a few newbies that are witty and fun loving. Maybe you could organise a steering committee. As you said, “But we gotta come together”, bring those people into the warmth of your virtual cottage in the woods and make this place come alive 🙏

Players playin' in the playground.

(I need to train my fingers to type the instead of teh.)

In a stunning turn of events moderators complain how hard moderating is after moderator starts thread designed to make everyone lose their collective shit.
Let’s be honest. Thread was started by mid as click bait. To tell people
I’m not doing it. If you don’t like it don’t look. Scroll over it.
Yet numerous mods on this very thread have seen violations that have gotten other people banned. Yet they haven’t done shit.
So I guess the… I’m not going to do anything. Don’t look/ scroll over it is an excuse to not do a mods job here.

To tell people I’m not doing what?

I’m not talking about stuff that violates Lit rules. Report that stuff. I remove plenty because I see it before it gets reported, too. At no point did I indicate I’m not going to moderate.

By the way, mods don’t have the power to ban here. Also, you are referencing seeing things that you think should get people banned, yet you haven’t reported it? What’s that about?

That needs quite a few more zeros at the end. 😂

Moderator openly ponders why people don't report posts after starting (duplicate) thread urging people to scroll past and ignore anything they don't like.
You’re being deliberately dense. Lots of content is disliked. That doesn’t mean it violates forum rules.
