Are they gonna publish anything?

Lol. Well, I mean...I love the other work as well, the drawings are very good

BUT...

Is it really a "comic" as much as it is an "illustrated story"?

I hate to get technical...

Just joking of course. I'm not THAT petty.

Or am I?
Almost none of my works gets enough votes to make it "Hot". But they get hundreds of views. I think one was above 250k views but hardly any votes. Guess voting on pix doesn't give people their yayas. They don't seem to play the "drive it down with ones" game either.

There's a new batch (of 6)

All from one person.

EDIT:
Oh, for cryin' out loud! The imagery is not even by the person posting!
They give credit. Commissioned work. Eyeroll

I browse and read what catches my eye, which is how I found out — reading YOUR post, here.
How did YOU find out? As far as I can see, it's under a post labeled 2021— so this is an annual award for the whole of last year? I do not see the thread that was soliciting nominations or any announcement that these were new categories.
The "top five in category" lists are compiled from voting results, they're not nominations as such.

Nominations are called for things like best editor, things like that, subjective rankings that can't be extracted from story scoring data.

yup.

I got the system now. It's a bit goofy. As for erotic art, Ay yi yi! Currently the lag time will mean the monthly qualified pieces will be minimal. I'd hate to see this last batch giving TheUniverseofCMed a "shoe in", with 6 pieces by outside artists. If I had a say (I don't), I'd say those shouldn't even be posted (in that category).

Of course not many works are generating votes.

Agree with you there - those commissioned works shouldn't be allowed into any award contest. Those posts are, in effect, using Lit to promote another commercial entity, although, I suppose, not one in competition with Lit, since Lit doesn't do book covers at all. It's a borderline touch on Lit's limitations on cross-promotion, though. Still, it makes a change from the more common arrival of jokers pushing the underage line, so there's that.

It's funny, this place (in the forums)

The Visual Artists Corner

"A place to show, view and discuss all forms of your original visual art." (my emphasis)

Whereas, "up front"

EROTIC ART SEX ARTWORKS HUB

"Artwork created by and for adults." — Which does not say "created by those who post them", though I think it should.
(or "Adult artwork created by Literotica artist members") — heehee created by artist members, kinda sounds like it was created by their dicks! heehee

Holy shit.

This seems like proof that something is rotten in Denmark. I'm not sure what's going on.

Last time a bunch of works got approved in the "comics" section it was a bunch of stuff by one guy. Probably 10 or 15 or so posts of some comic panel style stuff by the same guy. Not particularly skillful, but it wasn't awful. Then for some reason It was later all deleted.

Is it possible they just hand the "approval keys" to someone who just goes in and approves all of their own stuff? Lol, I wish they'd give ME the keys. I promise, half that shit wouldn't see the light of day.

Or maybe it's someone who just knows who to contact?

Oh well...I get better response and feedback here anyway, so I won't weep. It's a free site or whatever.

I just sent a PM to Laurel (not so much about approval or approval times)
Hi Laurel~
Something about the Erotic Art Sex Artworks Hub I noticed.
It seems that a criteria for posting imagery should be, that they are created by Literotica members, like the written works.
This came to my attention, because of the most recent batch of images, posted by TheUniverseofCMed.
Although tUoCM gives credit to the artists who created them, they are not tUoCM's works.
I think that commissioned art could be acceptable as imagery for an illustrated story or poem.
Though I am not quite sure how that would work with awards.

I considered (for a very brief moment of insanity) volunteering to be a vetter (not an Eddie Vedder) for the hub. I've also suggested having categories — medium and subject matter. I know lines a blurry, which makes it difficult. The Daz/Poser stuff typically annoys me. Of course, in an artist's hands it can be a cool tool. We're gonna be seeing Midjourney AI generated work pretty soon.

Is Daz/Poser stuff that computer generated bullshit? I fucking hate that garbage.
It is. "wire-frame" models, which can be posed and lit digitally. You can purchase add ons to increase "believability"...

Yup. I tend to hate them too. The applications can be good tools for reference, like mannequins - or like using stock photos. I only tried out an early version of poser. It's not for me.

Those 6 are no-longer marked as "new", will we see new new work soon?
Probably not.

Will those (and other commissioned work) be removed?
Probably not.

The last time I submitted a new art work it took a month to get posted. This time it's been over a month since I submitted something and it's not up yet. In addition, I've received notice of 8 or 10 comments on art that I've posted in the past and none of the comments have yet been made visible. We all like to get feedback on our work and it's frustrating to know that people have commented but that we have to wait weeks and weeks to see what those comments say. If the staff needs help processing the submissions just ask.

Likewise on submission and comments issue.

Not much time left in this month for more postings!
I ferget — do pieces need a minimum number of votes to qualify for each month? Will one of those 6 automatically be eligible?
The travesty!

They are not the worst imagery (I don't care for them), but being commissioned from outside of Literotica don't seem right.

100% percent in agreement with all of your comments......unfortunately works created with the likes of Midjourney/Dall-e/Stable diffusion are becoming all too prevalent in my "feed" over at Deviantart.
I see that some of the "artists" that are posting these artworks are making it clear that they were made by ai but there are many others that are stating it was made with "oil on canvas" or worse still, offering these creations for sale as prints or even expecting to get monthly subscriptions.
These new ai art platforms seem to be tailor made for selling the output as NFT's.
Throwing a few words into a prompt and having a machine make the art for you is really stretching the boundaries of what an "artist" is, I also wonder just exactly where the ai is getting its art from ?
cue certain artists suing for copyright theft in the future ?
I'm sure Andy Warhol would probably have loved the idea though.

For a brief, shining moment I was optimistic about erotic art postings— what with the Reader Choice Awards including the visual categories.

Now - pffft. There's no "energy".

I also have had some notifications of comments that still haven't been approved.

I WANNA KNOW WHAT THEY SAY!!! LOL

Same.
Though ONE was just me responding to an older one. The other....?

Too often it is just me talking to myself. LOL

I have had one sketch published, there are seven which have been sitting for months as pending, glad it's not just me having a problem getting artwork on the site. Wondering if it's more difficult for admin than written work?

May be it. is simply a lower priority. I am sure they have heaps to keep them busy. It seems that reading and vetting written work would be extremely time consuming. The written works take up less Jiggawatts (bits and bytes) and that is their "bread and butter". *shrug*

Disappointing.

At least there is this corner. Which is also somewhat disappointing, at least not as "thrilling" as it could be. :)

21 new posts today. After more than a month.
Mine last submission was 07/21/2022 and still hasn't shown.
I suspect it was lost in the ether.
Not sure I'll try again, until it seems clear that it is fixed.

We’ll have to see if it’s a one time thing and then nothing more for two months, or it’s back to daily art updates.

I submitted a drawing on the "main side," or whatever it's called. It's been probably a month and still hasn't been published.

Anybody else?
Yeah, I submitted some unused images for Hey All's Hotel Mother's story its in pending mode....since last year.

I would be VERY surprised if it was daily. Weekly, if they get their act together.
One of the new submissions, "Copy Girl" has the description: "01.09.23", which I assume is the date submitted. Posted 02/08/2023
Approximately a month lag (processing) time. That also leads me to think that any work submitted much early than that are a loss.

Not holding my breath.

I had submitted a few pieces like four months ago, and kept hoping that maybe, with the number of artworks showing December, that my stuff would be accepted eventually. But nope. New wave of artwork accepted, none of my stuff was addressed. So I just left some rants in the drafts (for my eyes only) and took all three down. I'm reminded again why I left this site.

Welp.
11 new Pieces. Feb 10, 2023

Most positive results in a l-o-n-g time.
