Are you a lurker?

I just awkwardly post comments and on my own thread (only made it so I could keep track of where I put some thoughts) every so often. I love discussion but most of the time someone else has already said it way more eloquently than me.

Confession

Cookie - I'm new here and this really captures the essence of what I've been doing to try to get a feel for the place. I'm trying to post more, (hence this post) and feel like I have something to give instead of just taking. Sometimes I lurk for an hour like you, sometimes more, sometimes I'll take a short break while working from home for a little change of pace. (I just wish the interface from a phone was better.) There are times when this all builds up into a whole lot of excitement that has to be released, you know what I mean!!

Are you a lurker? Do you spend time reading, perhaps even messaging people but never really post? Or maybe you post a lot in one forum but lurk around in others?

I have to admit I'll read through a thread, which takes me to another thread, which takes me to someone's profile and suddenly an hour's gone by.

Fess up.... do you lurk?

I'm 100% a lurker, especially in this forum (and not just in name)

It satisfies my curiosity and has taught me a lot about myself...but I'm not comfortable enough, nor nearly knowledgable enough, to have anything resembling real input here.

I lurk, I'd feel like an intruder at a dinner party posting on many boards. They appear to be closed shops .... or maybe I'm just a wimp.

Your conversation thread is a good idea!!

Welcome! Sounds like you're, ummm - having fun.

I do stroll by thread lurkings.. This is one such stroll..:)

Glad you decided to say hi!

Questions are always good. Comments. It's really the best way to get to know folks around here. But - as always, do what feels comfortable. Glad you're here.

Nah, not a wimp. But not an intruder, either. Hopefully you'll feel more at home posting one of these days. Welcome!

Lurkers are by far the most interesting humans on any boards , anywhere. Unlike low hanging fruit , their mysterious voyeurism is what makes it so much fun to coach them into a post here and there.

Cheers to the lurkers

What exactly is a lurker?

Someone who reads but doesn't post. ;)

They're not interesting if they never come out of their cave and start interacting.

I’m hit or miss. I feel like it depends if I build a connection and have someone to talk to I’m more engaged. But recently I’ve been in lurk mode more since I’m not in any on going conversations with content to engage with. 🤔

The ones that use the PM feature are  :D

It's like seeing that " you've got mail " icon & chime back in the day. :rose:

Okay, so they're interesting to the handful of people with whom they correspond privately, but that's not much benefit to the rest of the Litster community. 🤷🏻

My thoughts exactly.

HEY! I take offense to that! I like my cave.
:)

LOL! :D There, there.

The difference is that, while you may spend lots of time in your cave, you do grace us with your presence on threads every now and again.

No.

But at least two of our neighbors keep binoculars in their bedroom windows so I think they might be!

If a lurker answered this question, would that nullify them of being a lurker?

Lurkers are those people that go to a haunted house during Halloween and never never never ever .............

Enter

A

Scary place

Or a haunted
Trial

Or house

Cause their
