I think is a very creative use of the word "key"
the thing that actually caught my eye in this work was not so much the man or the "woman" he is building, although, I agree she has enough parts missing that it was a bit creepy. It's the small placard and the imagery it adds to the piece. Obviously it has a steampunkish feel. The lettering on the placard evokes a somewhat Victorian feel, very creative! Now the other thing, and although small, really says a lot about this illustration, and thats the "key" around the inventors neck. Keeping it close, no chance of losing the lifeline to his precious creation. I too thought the small "drip" seminal fluid? oil? was Bad ass. The sepia tones of shading on the figures and the background color really seemed to tie it all together. I did think the brightness of the figures drew my eye to them, and not to scan the busy workshop background.

I think to me "art" is more expressive in a painting. I liked the rich tones of the library walls and books in this painting. Now I'm not sure if the shadows cast by the figures in the doorway( visible in the closer view) are actually painted there or are from a odd scan or some other anomaly but I like them. The open door and the light emitting from within, give a great deal of depth to the painting, although, the figures within, seem out of perspective with the rest of the piece. Seems, in the closer view the womans head is actually out of the room, hmm, not sure... I/m guessing it's done in oils. The "key" is highlighted and really stands out against the rich wood tone of the door, and seems to say, "I/m usually locked" giving the viewer a brief glimpse as to what goes on in the "Hidden Archives" of the library.

I also like the idea of a hidden and locked room...another voyeuristic opportunity:D

I get to wondering... who left the door open? The POV (Point Of View) is from a distance... I like to make up the rest of the story... was the door inadvertently left with the key in the lock by a participant that is in the heat of the moment and it swung open and the viewer... heard the noises and is seeing from across the room?

I would like the figures to be a bit less Keith Haring and more dimensional.
Though keeping some of that level of spontaneity and energy!

The voyeurism has really been an added bonus with this challenge word... I guess were all voyeurs at heart... I also wondered about the door being left open, and who is actually watching!

Other than the concept, this piece did not "move" me.
A nice metaphor for "different strokes for different folks"... this is my key..and this is my keyhole. I see yours is there. A rainbow of people... though semi-melted naked "Army men" (not literally army men, but that sort of rigid plastic)

The crudeness of the rendering just rendered it "trivial"...? for me.

Looks like this has stagnated. At least as far as voting goes.

I have a feeling the subsequent challenges will garner more and more people voting, as well as participating. It's a good, creative, progressive community-building element to the visual erotica side of Literotica.

I hope so. So far the trend is downward!
Each subsequent challenge has had less participants and less voting.
It hasn't caught on, yet.

Howz it going Irezumi, I have heard from a couple of people that are interested in submitting work for the challenges.

Hmmm. Maybe we need to spice it up a bit, somehow? Strippers and beer on the final day of voting or something? :D

I'm actually hating myself for dropping the ball on "Key." Although I would've felt more worse not showing my best effort and just putting in something lazy. It's really fun to see how other people show their erotic vision.

I feel the same way Irez, since I hadn't been actively drawing prior to T re-starting the challenges I ponder over my finished pieces excessively! looking forward to seeing you enter up coming contests.

I like chocolate syrup and rice pudding, it's that *Great Wooden Spoon* that has me a bit concerned!

Are we commenting on these now? I should respond to this and I'd like to comment on Hidden Archives since I didn't get to that one before.
