Bandit's Blurt and Vent Thread

Isolated Blurt.

FUCK!

The test came back positive today. They will be scheduling my surgery in the next two weeks to try to remove the mass. I am not happy. This cannot be happening.

Hi Seurat - sorry to hear of your health troubles :(
Here's hoping the surgery goes well :rose:

There are some real losers posting on Lit. They don't really know anything. I just ignore them. And if people would completely ignore him he'd die out, but someone always feels they need to defend something and that just gives him more fodder. Oh well. People need to practice shunning. That is a very effective way of punishment. The problem is it requires everyone to shun him.

Bandit, I love what you said, and your description of Him going red! Umm what is a cone?

Leaving lots of hugs and :kiss:es for the two of you.

Said person has joined my ignore list. I am sick of his rudeness to just about everybody.

We have a daytime meeting at the speedway tomorrow - it's the middle of winter ffs, speedway is for summer! It's fine and sunny, but cold (15C today but the wind makes it seem colder). I have a jacket, hoodie, gloves, scarf and a beanie. I might be wearing all of it by the evening

Yes, that rudeness is just so terrible.

Hope the meeting went well and that you both stayed comfortable. Of course layering clothing helps. Nodding wind does make things very uncomfortable.

Hope the wind died down to a breeze. :D

Well I wore everything except the beanie (used the hood on my jacket instead) but even with a blanket over my legs I still could not feel my feet - they have only just thawed out and we've been home for about an hour

I really hope they don't have another meeting until I think beginning of October when the season starts, it is too freakin' COLDDDDD!!!!!!

Dialysis tomorrow, then a visit from my FWB Tuesday morning....:p :D

Thanks muchly. With the So undergoing major surgery at the end of July, getting this news last Friday was a major depressant. At least it isn't spreading.

Good news: the doc said I will have a wicked scar, depending on the incision the surgeon makes and the amount of material (i.e. flesh and other stuff) removed.

Bad news: it's gonna be on my face. I got enough scars already.

My daughter (22) is coming over for a visit. It will be 3 1/2 years since I have seen her - the last time was when Sir and I got married. She will arrive around 5th July and stay for a couple of weeks. A quick 2 day trip to the Gold Coast will probably ensue during that time too.

I've explained to her that there will be days when Sir is on dialysis and she will have to find something to amuse herself on those days....I have plenty of books :D

Hi {{{{{{Bandit}}}}}}}}

Glad to hear you were able to finally thaw them out. It can be so rough when one gets cold soaked. :( Please take care hon.

Hoping the dialysis goes well and have a fantastic time Tuesday morning.

Great news!

We've been cleaning out the spare room ready for new bunk beds. Our kind neighbour helped us take the old lounge downstairs and put it out for the cleanup in a few days. He's also offered to help put the bunks together AND get us some shelving AND put it together.

Sometimes I wonder what we would do without him - he even got rid of a nasty huntsman spider for me once (believe me, they are HUGE, and Sir was on dialysis at the time so He couldn't help me!)

He's really the only person in our building that we talk to regularly. There's a nice Spanish lady upstairs but we don't see her often, and the other tenants I only know to say "Hi" to when we pass on the stairs or going in and out of the building. I guess it's a sign of city life, but to me it is strange because I come from a country area where everyone knows everyone

It's what you put pot in so you can smoke it in a bong. Usually a little "cone" shaped metal thingy :)
I'd guess what you're referring to would be called a bowl, here in the US. People would say "smoke a joint" or if using a pipe of some sort, "smoke a bowl". And, the part of a bong where the pot goes is called the bowl. All bowls are usually cone shaped, so I understand the reference.

Yes that's probably why I confused everybody! :D
Interesting though how different parts of the world have different names for things - even NZ and Australia, though they are so close, have different words for things which can sometimes get confusing e.g.

Thong: In Australia it's rubber flip flop footwear, in NZ it's a type of underwear, like a G string. NZ refers to the flip flops as jandals :D

We are trying something new with dialysis today. Instead of the usual 8 hours, we are going for 12. Sir has had a 2 day break and there is a lot of fluid to get off :(

So we are going to go half way (6 hours), put a new bibag on, add more time on, adjust the heparin time (use 3 vials instead of 2), and cross our fingers  We've never done this before but if it works it will be great for times when He has 2 day breaks.

We are making plans to go to the Gold Coast for a couple of days while my daughter is here so He will need to get on the machine as soon as we get back - might even be an overnighter with the 12 hour duration. We probably won't be doing much the next day anyway :)

Well - the changeover worked :D With a little bit of fiddling around with the numbers until I worked it out (only an extra couple of minutes and I now know what to do next time.)

Sir has just over an hour to go as I type. It's been rather a long day but luckily we won't be doing this unless it's really necessary!

Where's the frickin' 'like' button this thing?

Good to hear!

Thank you! :)
Sir was feeling reasonably well when He finally got off the machine (blood pressure was a bit low - 115/70) but He soon recovered and today has been feeling good. Although trying to put together a set of single bunks for when my daughter visits took us about 2/3 of the day

Bloody instructions seemed like they were in Chinese (yes the bunks were made in China  ).

Why do you need bunks for your daughter and not just one bed? Is she bringing a friend?

The spare bedroom is also my dialysis store room so to maximise the space we have used the top bunk to stack some of the things we have stored in there to make floor space for her to be able to move around in. the bunks were because we had an old uncomfortable sofa bed in there but didn't have the space to be able to open it & visitors had to sleep on the sofa which was uncomfortable.

Hi {{{{{{Bandit}}}}}}

I'm back! My parents were in town and two of my brothers and the children were visiting too. It was a great time except for the time my mother went to the ER due to her heart. She has been diagnosed with an arythmia and it is being treated but it "acted up." It did convert back to normal sinus rhythm on its own but the EMTs recomended she visit the emergency room. She did and they gave her a slow drip IV of magnesium and did reach her doctor. She was in at 3:30am and they released her about 9:30am. She has been fine since. We've all had lots of time together while they've been here. They headed home yesterday and should get there tonight. It is a bit of a drive.

It is good to hear your method of doing the dialysis differently works for you and for Gil.

Hope you are having a good week. :D

Hi Kayte, glad to hear your mum is ok and that you had a good time :)

It's been really cold here (well cold for Sydney anyway!) Sir is glad to snuggle in a warm bed every 2nd day :) My daughter arrives on Monday I hope it warms up a bit by then, we have to pick her up at the airport her plane gets in around 7.30pm. Although coming from NZ she will be used to cold temperatures ;)

We are booked to go to the Gold Coast for a couple of days the second week of her stay, plus no doubt on Sir's "off machine" days we will be able to go shopping while He stays home by the heater ;) :D

{{{{{{{{{{Bandit}}}}}}}}}}  Thank you again for your comments about my mom and all. She is home and my folks are doing well. :)

Glad to hear He is comfortable when he is going through his dialysis. Based on when your post is dated, I imagine you have picked up your daughter by now. I hope you are having a delightful time. :nana:

Sounds like you've got all kinds of grand plans for her visit. :D

{{{{{{Gil}}}}}}  Nice to see you sweetie. Hope it has warmed up some now. I am grinning big time at your post, indicating you will be the chauffeur.

My parents went to St Louis, MO to see my mom's sisters first. One lives there and the other lives in Yuma AZ. She flew in. Anyway, you have three women and my dad. When my folks got to WI, dad was telling us of all of the places he had to drive them, all of the shopping... ;)

Hope you have a good time too.:D
