Ah that makes sense!
Hi Everyone, Gil, Bandit, Kayte, et al...

It's been a while since I last posted.
My daughter has visited for two weeks, she flew back to NZ on Monday. We enjoyed having her here with us, and even went to the Gold Coast for a couple of days (loved the warmer weather!). She kept going shopping and bringing back all these cheesecakes and other naughty stuff...now back to normal routine and gym for me to lose any extra weight I've put on
We're still doing dialysis every 2nd day, and Sir is away right now having an xray on His right knee which has been giving Him hell for ages. He may need surgery but it will probably be a long wait to see a specialist and even longer to get the op. He's also going to go see a dentist for the first time in years. There's a policy in place for those who are chronically ill to get their dental work paid for by the government, if they have a doctor's referral. His teeth are in a shocking state from the renal failure so the treatment might be to get them all ripped out and get dentures fitted - we will see.
As for me, I had some side effects from the HRT (spotting which was very annoying) so I made an appointment for today - whaddaya know almost as soon as I made the appointment the spotting stopped (after 3 months
). So I got another prescription anyway and if it reoccurs I'm to go back and doc will do a pap test and ultrasound just to check that all is ok. I'm really glad I'm taking this because I feel so much better on it!
Other than that we are both okWe are managing to find more Us time now that no.1 daughter has gone home....lol Sir found the 2 weeks rather frustrating!

It is so good to hear about your daughter's visit. It does sound like a good time was had by all.

Thank you FF and Seurat![]()
Those types of things don't happen often, but when they do it's very upsettingI don't feel very wonder woman like at those times.
We did dialysis yesterday, all went well apart from a bit of dizziness at the end when He sat up (BP 100/50, a little low). He came off at His usual weight so at a loss to explain the dizziness *shrug*![]()

Not enough sex I think. LOL
Your always my Wonder Woman!

Hmmm lack of sex causes a lot of things (so I am told)
Love You Sir![]()

Love you too my Wonder Woman.
*sigh*
I had a bit of a meltdown this morning
A combination of stress, tiredness, feeling picked on, and going back to the "bad place". I was decidedly unsub-like (and un-Bandit like according to Sir). I yelled at Him then burst into tears. I felt like I was carrying the whole world on my shoulders.
I'm better now. I think I needed the release of tears. I don't cry much. I tend to hold it all in and try and soldier on. Not a good idea![]()

Sending lots of energy your way sweetie.![]()

Thanks kayte
Sir had His right knee xrayed 10 days ago and we went to the doctor yesterday to discuss the results - His kneecap has a definite crack in it no wonder He's been in so much pain![]()
It likely will need surgery to wire it together. He has a referral to a specialist but this one charges $160 to have a look (although we are able to claim $68 of that back from Medicare it is still a lot of money to find on a pension). The operation will have to be done on the public list (no way can we afford to have it done privately) so will probably be a long wait.
There are appointments out the wazoo lately - chest clinic next Monday, cardiologist the following Wednesday, renal Monday 23rd and this knee appt on 1st Sept. That's not counting any other GP visits which may be needed. *Phew*![]()

Knee doctor had a cancellation so Sir gets to see him today at noon instead of having to wait for a month.![]()

Hope it all went well.

That is marvelous. Thank you for sharing that.Hope it all went well.

WellWe were told that Sir needs a complete knee reconstruction, which may or may not work
He'd need to be in hospital for at least 5 days, needing to dialyse on two of those days. He'd need to stop His warfarin too. All His other medical problems complicate things far more than for any normal patient
We're going to have a talk to His cardiologist and renal doctor when we see them in the next couple of weeks, but I think Sir has decided the risk is too great and He will put up with it. In the future we may even need to move to a place without stairs.

This week is a busy one. Appointments Monday and Wednesday, and the usual dialysis. I did a little shopping for perishables today but will probably need to fit in a trip to the supermarket as well.
Some problems with machine alarms today mid dialysis but it settled after we turned the pump speed down. Sir also had problems with leg cramps and came off 200g overweight - go figureHe had a kilo extra to come off the other day and didn't have any trouble. It's probably just the luck of the draw I guess

Respiratory clinic went well, Sir's lung function is holding steady even though He is still smoking. Next is a checkup at the cardiologist tomorrow. The weather today has sucked - rain all day and much the same tomorrow. At least we didn't get any thunderstorms - yet....
As for me, I have pulled a muscle/strained my neck and shoulder. It must have happened during Bodycombat class last night although I felt no pain until this morning. So no boxing tonight (so I don't do any more damage)I hope it is better by Thursday so I can do pump class......I miss the gym when I can't go!
