His Lordship is home at the moment he is in Mummies brave little soldier mode

So very glad to hear it. I keep burning little candles for you.

I've had a story or two like yours; someone I love coming home from hospital just in time for Xmas. It certainly does remind us what we really want from Santa: the people we love, alive, happy and present in our lives.

Here's something neato for Xmas. Generally I'm not into the 'celebrities covering traditional carols' thing, but I make an exception for this cause it's so weird.

Siouxsie Sioux

And by the way. If you haven't seen the Stephen Colbert Christmas special, you really, really should. Really. It's wrong and beautiful and wrong. But here are a couple of highlights that had me completely in tears.

John Legend

Willie Nelson. So very, very wrong.

Just go watch the whole thing. Seriously.

And though I can't find the version from the actual show, here's my personal favorite song for this year's holiday.

What's so Funny?

peace. Peace. PEACE.

eta: o wait I forgot this. Always makes me cry.

Uh, yeah. Thanks for that. I'll prolly never drink eggnog again thanks to that John Legend video. Merry Cruel and Evil Christmas back atcha Doll!

To everyone here, I wish you happiness and warmth this holiday season. I don't care what, or if, you celebrate, just be safe, and filled with cheer.

*hugs all around*

Merry Christmas !! Hope you are all having a good one with lots of nice presents I now have the jolly task of trotting down to the kitchen garden to pick freezing cold sprouts .... oh joy!

Ah, but won't the neighbors be happy, after all, and warm as well, if you're going out in that little thong. No wonder you're cold, though.

We had a merry, warm and excellent holiday. And the dogs so enjoyed their presents. I cook them breakfast every year on Christmas morning. They like pancakes better than just about anything in the world. Last year I tried a salmon omelette, but they really prefer pancakes.

If you knew my neighbours you wouldn't even suggest it! Mind you she's flashed at Ron a couple of times but I have no intention of replying in kind!

She has a fabulous body I'll give her that but oh dear well the rest .....how can I say this without sounding catty ermmmm I'm sure she has a lovely personality too!

Mummies little soldier doesn't realise I have his number lets just say that when he has visitors he's bravely battling on lol

Hmmm. I'm thinking blackmail material. "Behave or I'll just tell all your friends what a whiny pain in the hindquarters you REALLY are."

My sister just left which is probably just as well she is completely bigotted where anything gay is concerned won't watch any TV programmes that even hints of it nor anything that is at all 'too gory' has 'too many guns going off' and wants to watch 'light and frothy'. Says you watch it I don't mind I will just read my book then proceeds to talk all the way through it. Excuse me one moment aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! there that's better

hey, y'all.
Having fun?

I just thought I'd stop in and say hi as I contemplate my new year's resolutions for my creative arts. I'm starting a scrapbook for 2009. I'm going to do one page each week and include pics of my artwork and samples of writing and poems that I did that week. I'm not a scrapbook fanatic. I do enjoy it though. I did a family history scrapbook that includes copies of photos of my great grandparents and gggrandparents.

What are you guys planning for New Year's Eve? I'm just having a little party at home with my kids.

Well hello there nice to see you :rose: the scrapbook sounds great as does the other one you did and will be wonderful for future generations to see.
I shall probably be doing the same as I do every year playing cards for pennies until the early hours, will have to watch out for Mummies wounded soldier hiding cards in his sling though!

I'm scooting off for the annual post Christmas shopping blitz in the city down the road a ways.

I'll likely be back tomorrow so have a great day and a pleasant evening.

(kissies and hugglefucks).

I must be getting old. The quiet evening at home with my kids is much more appealing to me than being in a crowded bar or at a party. And, pleaz! Do you know what my town drops at midnight? One city nearby drops a large white rose. I think Harrisburg drops a strawberry with the celebration taking place at an area called Strawberry Square.

My town... we drop a huge hunk of bologna. My town has its own kind of bologna that we're kinda known for. I assume that's why we were Jay Leno's "home office" one year. So, they stand out in the freezing cold, at midnight the bologna drops, then they cut up the bologna and eat it. Good times.

A bologna drop?

Although that image amuses me perhaps more than I can easily describe, it does seem an.... unfortunate symbology.

I think I'd have to avert my eyes while it was cut into pieces. I have to wonder if Viagra prescriptions are higher in that town than average...

but LOL anyway.

oh, lawd!
It must be because I was brought up around it all my life, but the phallic essence of the bologna had totally escaped my conscious mind. Leave it to bj to point that out. LOL

So, now when I watch the frequent clips of "news" coverage of the bologna drop, the crowd gathered around the phallus is going to be especially hilarious.

Cheers!
