I believe the point of this thread is to let everyone know that the OP has been having sex.

Um, cool dude.

You mean you don't? ;)

I was actually pointing out that everything is nice and polite and there was nothing very stimulating going on. That most of the poetry is polite or a clone of something equally polite and filled with cliche and the threads are awfully polite. There is just a general lack of personality in everthing. The one or two times I've noticed a topic of interest, the thread grows very quickly but that is all too rare. That everything ends up with a shopping mall atomosphere, with stores never stocking anything that isn't middle of the road because the dumb masses might not buy it. Well here is one person from the dumb masses that is asking for something different. It appears I'm being told if I want it, make my own or read a book. Which is probably a good idea since I seem to be in a minority of one.

But its a little sad when you can have a more interesting conversation about apples in the corner shop than you can about poetry on a poetry thread.

Dude, I am just looking for a little clarity in what you are looking for. Give examples of the topic of interest. Give examples of poetry that pisses you off etc. Please go through my poems or anna's and give them a kick in the ass if you find them to be too polite, without personality yadda yadda yadda <insert all of your judgements here>

Are you afraid of being specific? You throw a grey wool standard-issue blanket over everything/everyone here, and I personally do not find everyone to be under that blanket. Some are hanging from the ceiling shooting spit balls at you for not responding to their posts.

:p

edited to say: okay okay you do say "most poems" but when you say that, everyone is going to assume you mean you are talking about theirs. How about you find some that are not of the <insert your generalities here> variety. Can you find one poem here that does not bore you? Add a link to one of the threads that do not make you want to throw your pc out the window.

You want something to bounce off of, to be stimulated, to be able to respond, don't we all.

I will be back to give my unpolite straightforward opinions of your artwork, if that is why you posted it here.

oh so sincerely and ever so politely yours

Many threads end up as private jokes or passing pleasantries that it seems at times one is interupting a private conversation so it is inhibiting to answer the original point. That is why I don't post much and why I don't get round to answering some of my posts. By the time I get round to answering a post, often it feels like a thread has petered out.

My complaint is not about anyone specific but the group culture. I have nothing against anyone here and no one has said a bad word to me, quite the opposite. It's the group culture that encourages or inhibits people to experiment or play safe. I'm putting forward the opinion that the group culture inhibits experimenting and finding ones individual voice and encourages people to play safe. However, if I don't fit in with the culture I guess it's me that should leave.

Feel free to demolish my work. If you make a critique that adds to my insight of it, then great, if you want to insult it, that's fine too, I'm used to it.

okay hon, I agree with you one zillion percent. about the private jokes and pleasantries (you are so smart! I love your observations! :rose: :rose: :rose: )

I have been through that too, my brother. :)
come here and I will fix that special favorite dish of yours,
remember? omg that was so funny.

what ever happened to the violet hour??? :(

and I agree about the thread petering issue. I have posted to threads in the middle only to realize the topic had completely changed.

It is like a soap opera. Exactly like a soap opera. When you follow it every day and keep up, it sucks you in.... but to anyone on the outside (or if you miss a week!) it feels like meaningless jibberish.
And I do not intend to insult your work.

Just jump in wherever you feel like the waters suit you. Even if it seems everyone has moved on.

What is interesting is that I have been made to feel very comfortable experimenting here. I have to admit sometimes I have to roll my eyes and walk away when I get the "Not the poets best work" or other signs of expectation....but that is not necessarily a bad thing if you don't take it personally. Hell, I even tried writing love poems! Sappy and all! That is experimentation!

I think it is mostly finding a niche here, finding where it works for you.

so baby whattya say, you wanna use the scientific method or let chaos reign?

You got your safety glasses and lab coat? I got the tongs and rubber tubing. Bring some of those stainless steel gadgets you are so famous for.

Is that a throw away line or you actually do know about my steel objects I'm apparently famous for?

The purpose of this thread was to throw a cat amongst the pigeons to throw in a cliche and stir things up a little so I guess it was an attack but not in any sense a personal attack on anyone. :catroar:

It seems to have worked for WSO who got a good poem out of it, though I wouldn't be presumptious enough to take any credit for that.

I guess chaos reigns. :)

Oh I have seen them alright... they are beautiful! I might have to go back and do some Christmas shopping!

Wait a minute! Where did those modern marvels go? I swear I saw them at your site.

you got some disturbing new drawings up too, I see.
from the zoorama collection:

egg tooth slices leather
through the slit
triangular head emerges
tongue first

it is not the wind
but what it carries
that turns him back

from whence he came
jaw dislocates
takes down
half empty shell

thanks for the kick in the ass even if it was not directed at anyone in particular.

Does anyone else see irony in someone lamenting how polite everyone on the PFD is, but then claiming they are too polite to jump into existing threads because they seem like personal conversations? You're boring me, BB.

No one is obliged to entertain anyone else, here. If you want in, walk in.

You did see them. They will be back up soon. I'm just reworking the site a little.

Thanks for the compliments.

kinda like this tread..

so here is me darker side...

We all have our poison
or potion of passion choice.

Me, I like a cold draft;
my new port of call, Stella Artois,
mostly for the story and the star reference,
but, my heart is in Grolsch, with the swing top,
of course,
and if I’m short, Dutch Windmill.

I like it all,
brewed hops with a smile in crystal winks,
the fact that I can be bolder with a thorn
in my side
pisses int the wind of
perfection, ahhh...

i looked and looked for somewhere to put this little experiment ...is it here?

The font is such, it is too difficult to read. I wouldn't say I became bored but the effort of reading what you wrote became too much.

I missed this.

Are those muscles on your AV latex?

Make it dirty, disturb me.
Make it raw,
like hard sex.
Deviant art
ropes and collars
with cigarette butts in the ash tray next to the bed.
No,
you don't have to be polite.
but I will say "thank you" later.

in essence we look for those things that make us feel...no matter how they offend our senses...when we become to jaded we need to look farther to find something that envokes feeling in us.

BB, ask Dante about ultimate knowledge...that is the true curse of intellectualism...the pain that comes with genius is often times the undoing of the genius.

Dante's a bit tough to engage in conversation these days! But blissful ignorance is such a fanciful notion. Would any of us truely choose to know less than we know? We might choose different routes to the knowledge sometimes, but would we ever really choose to not know it?

Latex: if the creaks and groans of morning stretches tell me anything, there is no latex!

I've really got no complaints about it being here and I don't think it's my place to complain.

It would be nice if you could redo your typography so we can all at least read it. ;)

It's the pain that makes us feel and makes us realise we are awake and there is nothing like offence to make us sit up and take notice.

I have only just put down a book of etchings of Dantes Divine Comedy by Gustave Dore.

Weird that you mention Dante at this time.

I am not usually one for too much talking. I would rather write. I might not be the sharpest pencil in the box, but I do love this Literary box we all share.

I find, when I am bored. I read the threads, explore others thoughts and writings. Then bounce. Just me. Hoping you get through this rough time,
with your mind still intact ~ *Grins* ;)
