BREAKING: Insurrection on Capitol Hill

I don’t think members of Congress should be paid if they shutdown the government but the Constitution says they must be paid. I don’t think the question will ever go to SCOTUS in my lifetime. If it did, I don’t know how SCOTUS would rule. The court’s job is to interpret the law, not legislate.

Dem NY Rep Jamaal Bowman pulled fire alarm in Cannon Building, forcing evacuation as Dems tried to buy more time to read new CR. USCP criminal investigation unit is questioning Bowman.

Interfering with a Congressional proceeding. Wow.
Yep, just like stealing a candy bar at the 7-Eleven equates to robbing a bank. He ought to be censured for it, but insurrection? That's a moronic comparison. If that's how you want to play it shouldn't MTG be arrested and prosecuted for a purveyor of porn on the house floor? If not why not?

Yeah give me a break and quit with the manufactured outrage.

Did you really expect an intelligent comparison out of him?

I’m not outraged. I was just using the Politics Board’s interpretation of “insurrection.”

Can we mention that abortion isn't mentioned in the Bible?

Come on man. Who among us hasn’t mistakenly tried to open a door, flush a toilet, or turn on lights by pulling a FIRE alarm? The font might have been too small to read or perhaps English isn’t the congressman’s native language.

It was the color that confused him. No where in the world are fire alarms colored red with white letters on them except for that specific one.

According to our forum legal expert, shouting 'Fire' in a crowded room is protected free speech under the Constitution.

If a person makes a bell ring to send the same message does that make it criminal?

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences.

Something you and Rep Bowman seem to have forgotten. Unless you intentionally left that part out just to beclown yourself before the entire world.

Yes as faux drama. People who use such loaded terms without context or explanation, then try to worm their way out by, "well, I was just making a point" really aren't. They are just trying to stir the fucking pot with manufactured drama for no other reason than to stir it.

Now I will admit there are times the pot needs a good stir to get the shit to float to the top. This ain't one of those times. Trying to say a ripe cherry is the same in taste and size as a ripe watermelon is stupid no matter when it happens.

This sounds a lot like someone chortling with glee over the fake pee tapes but being offended when the fake fire alarm episode puts the shoe on the other foot.

Except not at all the same, Derpy.

The “pee tapes” we’re only given a second thought because EVERYBODY could imagine that the rapey, racist, corrupt orange traitor was perfectly capable of being involved in something like that,

The rapey, racist, corrupt orange traitor is on tape admitting to doing things every bit as heinous and disgusting as what was alleged about the “pee tapes”.

Hope that ^ helps.

Actually, occasionally BB50 does make a good argument for the conservative viewpoint... occasionally. Unlike others here, 'harpy for instance. He ain't made a decent point in a discussion in a very long time. I give what is due.

wait a minnit...

...you're the one who made this thread and titled it as such!

you tell us what you meant by "insurrection!"

So, the board Trumpettes still don't recognize the gravity of the 6 January Trump-initiated coup attempt against the United States.

Hmmm, wow. Gives aid or comfort…

Seems textbook jan 6.. so not a board definition.

Thanks for that one. Good when you help.
Legal definition. Obviously not met yesterday. Politics board has a more loose definition lol

Nah, Jan 6 hit all of that legal definition. But yet MAGA folks can’t even admit it was an insurrection.

Door will open 15 seconds after alarm sounds means just that. If the door is closed and he wanted to exit that door, he activated the alarm. No intent to delay the proceedings-yet you jumped on it.

How’s your Nazi doing? Still flopping on the deck like a fish out of water?

We'll just say you lacked the grey matter fortitude to label this thread appropriately without the bombastic sensationalism and leave it at that. :ROFLMAO:

How many J6 people were prosecuted under 18 U.S.C. 2383?

Let’s just say you’re new here and haven’t seen how often “insurrection” is tossed around this board. 😂

Hint: insurrection involves an effort to overturn the will of the people. Obstructing a vote is not that.(I don't support the Rep's actions)

Hope this helps 👍
