Britwitch's Hallowe'en Party 2011

"You make it hard to decide. They both sound wonderful." Looking up the stairs and then down the hall towards the front door. "I think I'll let you surprise me."

I take your hand and, pausing to pull a long black hooded cloak from a hook near the door and wrapping it around my shoulders, I lead you out of the front door with a gleeful smile and into the night.

...the maze it is then...

The garden is dotted with glowing lanterns, with dark ribbons hanging from the trees.

"Boy, you really DID pull out all the stops on this one." Looking around as you lead me to some unknown destination merely labeled as " the maze." "I'm impressed. And that isn't easy to do..."

I'll take that as a compliment!

I lead you to a large dark mass, haybales that have been arranged to create a maze and then covered in black plastic.

Race you to the middle...!

I laugh before running into the maze, rounding a corner and pulling myself back into a shadowy corner, intending to jump out on you when you come past

"That's not fair! You know the maze already! Ugh." I stop for a second before slowly walking into the maze. "I'm not running in here unless I KNOW the route. That's just asking for trouble otherwise."

This way...

I call, loudly but not too loudly, don't want to tell you exactly where I have concealed myself. I hear feet coming closer through the grass and hold my breath, readying myself to jump out

I walk towards the sound of your voice slowly. I suddenly get the feeling that something eles might be about to happen and stop. "Hey now..."

Somehow resists the urge to jump out, sensing uncertainty on your part and instead pokes her head out from the shadows, smiling mischievously as her face appears just in front of your own

"Oh, thought you could pull a fast one on me, eh?" Smiling back at you just as mischievously as you are at me.

Well it is the time for tricking and treating, is it not? Can't have one without the other...

I pull back into the shadows a little, still visible in the darkness

...shall we go on...?

"I suppose you're technically right... Sure, let's go on. Although I did notice you abandoned your other party guests." Laughing and poking you in the side as I follow you further into the maze.

Giggling at the poke I take your hand and lead you through the twists and turns towards the middle of the maze. Soon we reach it. In the centre of the clearing is a bench and several glowing pumpkins around it, in case the journey through the maze has tired out my guests as well as a sign congratulating them on having made it to the middle. I release your hand and move towards the bench to adjust a pumpkin that seems to have rolled over a little, bending at the waist to do so.

So, what do you think of my maze...?

I ask, whilst trying to make the orange vegetable sit straight

"It was um... It was... Ummm... I think I need to sit down for a bit." Walking over to the bench, suddenly feeling a bit warm.

Coming to sit beside you, pushing the cloak's hood back from her head, concern evident on her face as she leans close, the swells of her chest pushed up by her close fitting costume resting against your arm, looking you over

Are you feeling ok? Is something wrong...? Maybe I should go get help...

"Ah, no, no... I'll be fine, I promise. I just..." He had the strange feeling that she already knew what it was but wasn't telling him so. "It's nothing, I primes."

I run my palm over the side of your face, a smile curving my lips

Well, you don't have fever...but you do seem a little flushed...perhaps it was the excitement of the maze...

My hand moving lower down the side of your neck until it comes to rest on your chest.

looking down at the ground. "Yeah, that must be it... The maze." Looking up at you but just for a quick second.

Smiling a little wider, leaning down and in front of you to catch your eyes, hand falling to land on your leg

I'm a little excited myself...

I admit, shuffling a little closer, until my fishnet covered thigh is against yours

...did you want to go back to the house...?

"Is there something back there that I was supposed to have seen earlier?" I am starting to sweat now, even in the crisp, cool fall air. My heart is pumping to the point that I think it must be heard by all.

Oh I think you saw almost everything back at the house...I just wondered if perhaps it was being alone with me that was...affecting you...and that maybe you'd like to be back amongst other people...

My voice trails off and I sit back a little, still close but no where near as close as I was. Not wanting to intimidate you, my hand reaches out to gently squeeze yours.

I won't mind if you'd rather go back inside to the party...honestly...

"Almost everything? What exactly... Did I miss?" Still sweating with my heart racing, but looking at you with curiosity now as I wonder at you curious phrasing of the last statement.

Smiling, shyly now, my fingers rise to untie the ribbon at the neck of the cloak, sending the dark fabric back from my shoulders and revealing my rather revealing costume underneath.

I think there were a couple of things you haven't yet seen...

My tone is coy, a complete contrast to the twinkle in my eyes, as I reach down and lift your hand to the neckline of my dress and the tie that holds it closed.

Slowly, I tug on the tie around your neck as I look you over. "Well, if I've missed something then let's go back and have you show me what that was..." Smiling with a smirk as I patiently wait to see how you react.

Noon pops in, wearing his devil costume with a quick grin, deciding that he's fashionably late. He doesn't see the hostess immediately, deciding that she must be busy, so he simply admires the decorations as he helps himself to a cookie, exploring on his own for the moment. He's in a good humor this day, and as he helps himself to punch, relaxing, there's a mirthful twinkling in his eye.

I shiver and pull my cloak back onto my shoulders

Come, let's head back inside...and warm up a little...

Smiling I lead him back out of the maze and up to the house. Hanging my cloak back up onto it's hook by the door.

...I think some punch should do the trick...
