Bro’s thread

Y'all know I don't dump my personal crap into anyone's thread, but I just want to give a heads-up: I'm an alcoholic. I've been sober 14 years. If you want to have a "Star Wars drinking game" or something, that's cool. I just won't participate. I can't. Oh, I can have a beer or two with friends. That's the biggest difference between me now vs. me 15 years ago. I can just have a beer or two and then go to soda or coffee, without it turning into an all-night drinking binge. If we got together for a night out, you know you can count on me to be your designated driver and get everyone home safe. 🫂
Congratulations on your 14 years. I don't do Star Wars/Trek, or any other scifi drinking game. Love them all though.

It's really not a big deal to me -- like, I'm not one of those preachy types. I understood it was a problem, and I fixed it. Other people can drink and never have the issues I did, and I'm never going to tell anybody what they should do. It just seemed like a good opportunity for me to give that info.

Okay everyone.
What’s your football (nfl) team?
I’m from Dallas. I have an excuse. Hate all you want.
Lived north of Seattle for over 10 years, and been to 2 preseason Seahawks games. Also, the XFL Dragons (preCovid) I saw 2 live games, were an amazing team, but the 2nd XFL died due to covid arena restriction. I preferred it to what it is now, but the new XFL is also fun.

Iman unofficially diagnosed alcoholic. During my first 8 years in the Navy, it was bad. I rarely drink, and was the DD for many fellow shipmates for the rest of my career, after I saw my problem

yeah, I agree. I used to shoot weekly indoor league at a local shop and local tournaments most weekends. Also shot in a few different ASA tourneys before I moved up here. But since moving, I don't have a shop to shoot at and haven't really gotten back into practicing. I still have my target rig and do shoot it every few months. Someday I'll get back into it even if not at that level.

Several of the guys I shot league with are now in the pro or semi-pro class. It's pretty cool to see them on Youtube and Facebook along with some of the bigger names in Archery. Most of the pros are real nice guys and gals too.
I recently saw a quick draw competition range outside of my town in Idaho. Heard it was part of a national championship range(?)

That was definitely a contributing factor for me. I reported to my boat just before I turned 20, but I'd been drinking for a couple years before I joined. I was a lifeguard the last 3 years I was in high school, so I got invited to a lot of parties where there was booze -- and drinking games. Between that and going out with shipmates, I was a "competitive drinker" without realizing it. That's not a healthy way to go about it.

I went fron unwelcome nerd by the popular kids, to bring a bottle or two and have fun in the Navy. NOT a good transition.

Also, as for NCAA FB, most people hate the team I root for.
Hint: they have a history of winning against top 10 teams, and they were the first to have a non green colored field.

Unfortunately, they got housed by Washington, didn't they? My wife got her PhD at East Carolina, so we pull for the Pirates. After they lost at Michigan, my wife was grumbling about them getting "destroyed."
I said, "I think Michigan was actually favored by more than 27 points."
My wife: "Oh? Are they good this year?"
"Uh, yeah. Very good."

Goddammit Lexx! I fall asleep for a few minutes, and now there are chicks all over the place. @OrdinaryPerson seems great, and @Photog1rl is one of my favorite people in the world, but it’s getting too womany in here. Watch the fucken door buddy.

@Photog1rl How about answering your messages instead of bothering my guys?

I know…i am negligent in my vocaroo recording! Thanks for the reminder. First thing in the morning-scouts honor…scouts hold up three fingers when they promise...right? Do they cross their fingers behind their backs too??🤣

In my experience, it’s generally just one finger and it’s right in my face. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You know I’m teasing PG. I’m just being an ass. No hurry.
