Canada from Eh to Zed

Hi Keroin! Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm from the West ... or Left as you mentioned! So... I'm afraid your poutine jokes will be almost lost on me!

Hey, I'm a leftie too! Nelson, BC.

Hippies and grizzlies. :)

And poutine is just wrong.

And poutine is just wrong.

I've had to google for poutine many, many times reading this thread. I think the concept of it just doesn't want to stick in my brain, because it looks too icky in the wiki picture, and that's why I always forget what it means.

But I have learned to remember what a toque is, and I have even once used the word in a sentence quite successfully, to the amazement of my temporarily Canada-bound friend.

But poutine.. *shivers*

Poutine contains all the most delicious wrongness. It's our answer to fried chicken, salt, fat, carbs all in one gooey hot amazing concoction.

I love this line from the wikipedia entry on poutine:

"One of these ... meanings — the one from which the name of the dish with fries is thought to derive — is 'unappetizing mixture of various foods, usually leftovers.'"

It is trés apropos.

I wish we had a 'write in' option. Rick Mercer would make a great Prime Minister. :)

Agreed! There should be a nomination process. Rick Mercer would win by a landslide!

I'd like to see Uncle Rick as PM of Canada and Jon Stewart as Prez of the US...then I'd sleep well at night. :)

I don't trust people with hyphenated names. First, or last.

I don't trust people who don't trust people with hyphenated names. And...

Wait.

You were being funny.

Nevermind.

Went to my local All Candidate's Forum last night. Very informative/ interesting! I am now officially a responsible young citizen (by FAR the youngest people (my sister and I) there - and quite SAD how few there was!).

Don't worry, it's always been like this. The people who vote in droves have always been the old, maybe we can take solace in the fact that we will all be old one day so eventually everyone will vote.

No offense or anything to the Canada bdsm community but is it really possible to be a Canadian dom?It just seems like Americans have the advantage as harsher and fiercer apex predetors.

Yes, we in Canada have long lamented the absence of tough, rugged individuals capable of being "truly" dominant...sigh

Wussies, that's what we are.

Oh trust me, it's way easier for us to be dominant. Ever watch hockey?

Being a jerk don't make you dom.

Having said that.

Ain't it kinda hard being an American dom, seems like them Mexicans got that machisimo advantage.

Sorry I started at the top of the page and now I want poutine...lol
:p

Yo my canada peeps. I'm thinking about buying one of them $80 tilley hats. Am I crazy or crazy smart?

Depends on your budget. I'd try and find one on sale. But if you need that type of hat, they're very good and guaranteed.
