I'll contribute a scanner tip: I find that my pencil drawings look better when scanned in color than grayscale, setting the lines to look a bit blue rather than pure gray makes them look classy. Some people also get nice results making their lines a dark brown, sort of like a sienna photograph.

hello all you peoples!

THROBBS, i hope you are feeling better! i have heard that kidney stones are as close as men will ever get to childbirth, so if that is the case, you have my deepest sympathies. i had to have my gallbladder removed a few years back. the attacks are.... *shudder* take care of yourself there.

Nice pussy Austin! :D

sunandshadow, if i ever decide to stop taking pictures of my work and figure out my scanner, i soooo know where i am turning for help!

kinki, hehehe, i hope you had a good day. :rose:

xssve, i'm excited you are joining up!

very true! The flip side is... in grey scale the file size is kept a bit smaller. For most pieces that is negligible, but there are times you might want to squeeeeeeeze as much clarity as you can within the limits. just a thought.

Looking forward to more "scanner" talk and re-sizing talk!

no calculi pebble yet, or should I say Flaming Ninja death star, I will never in my lifetime forget the excruciating pain involved with passing 3!

Morning everbody!

As I recall the previous.... well actually I DON'T recall the 1st 2 (size wise) but the last was only 1.5mm or so... It STILL knocked me to the floor and made me puke etc... but the actual "passing" ..from my body.. I do not recall.. I did not ever SEE it.

Supposedly, this one (3mm) will be hard to miss. I am using the filter thing just in case. Do recall the "final journey" (from bladder through urethra) as being painful? I remember feeling I had to pee but couldn't...THAT was pretty aweful too, but not quite as bad as the Kidney to bladder pain.

This conversation is making me cringe , it's a horrific thing to go through , but hang in there T , um , this too shall pass ?

It's been nearly 2 years since I went through this as well , and from the incredibly vivid detail file , I can only say it felt as though I was passing a 35lb flaming porcupine .

Drinking hard liquor seemed to help .... a little .
Best of luck .

is 800 by 600 a hard limit? I reduced to 800 pixels wide but it's 719 high.

xssve,

for me, it seems to be more about KB than actual dimensions, 100KB, being the largest file size accepted. So seems if I reduce my scanned image by 50% it's pretty close, I'm still trying to reduce the image and not have it pixelated, getting closer...

am i your first?! wooooo hooooooo!

too bad they can't give you an epidural for that shit.

it's morning!!!!! i have tons of energy today, and i am going to place an order for lots of new oil paints. :D no scanners here. has anyone every used water mixable oil paints? i'm curious to try some out, but have never played around with them before. have a good day everyone!

It won't be (719 high) when I get done with it!;):D

it is ok to send me higher res and/or larger images and I will reduce to fit.
I will make as big and best as allowed.

ok...nap time.

I've only use oil paints once. Dunno what kind they were since they came in a kit. But I didn't like them, I found it really frustrating how slow they dry. I like acrylics better. I just bought a batch of acrylics this past weekend, although I'm still waiting for my sister to tell me what I'm supposed to be painting with them, lol.

my printer/scanner went back to the store today.

only the scanner worked for me. only the printer worked for my son and nothing worked for the h'band.

Damn machines... did you get a replacement?

yes. An epson this time. The last 2 were HP...and they have been horrible for us.

An update for my OS is due any day so I am waiting to load up the printer/scanner driver.

...checked back in the thread but couldn't find if you mentioned....what kind of scanner did you get?
