Come and play with me

Nobody said you shouldn't play. Why not play in the forum that actually has 'play' in its title, not in a place that has the word ‘poetry’ in its title? Doesn't seem like rocket science to me. It does seem selfish to decide you can play wherever you want and ignore clearly started rules. Threads like this damage the credibility and atmosphere of the entire forum.

By the way, I skimmed the thread Jennifer, to see how much poetry was here. Your definition of poetry and mine must differ greatly.

what is your concern rather this thread is for fun or not? Do you feel a need to go around and ensure all threads are not having fun? <laughing> what a job?

I will be sure
to write a poem or two
if it makes you feel better about our poetry
we will write ryhming about something

well this just sank in <grin> what your saying is that the moderators could jump a thread and talk panties and beer with tath, ang and wicked abd that is okay...but we are not allowed to have a fun thread....I think that you should have jumped their multi posts, of no poems what so ever.... I understand that you were probably sent here by the J Doe and just doing as instructed, but you better post that every where if your going to stand behind it. Cause this aint the only thread that has FUN....<laughing>

little twinkle toes
where the fun grows

Your idea of entertainment and mine must differ as well. This website is for entertainment. The folks who believe they are better than the rest of us are simply ignorant. There is already an exodus of good poets, and not because of a bit of flirting and playing. It is because of the ridiculous concept aspired to by one of the ignorant. The entire idea of a commercial website is to get hits. That is what pays for all of the little ads and gives us a place to play, whether it is writing real poetry or stories, porno, or just playing.

it is clear to me that the person whose quote you pulled up was not questioning the value of entertainment, nor the right of anyone here to entertain themselves, but merely the venue they choose for it.

she explained the forum rules accurately, even quoted them, pointing directly to a spot set aside as a 'playground.'

if you are going to quote someone and attempt to refute them, it is usually a good idea to address the points they raise, and not ones you make up.

thanks john

I just seem to find it amusing that they chose this thread to state this and not the monkey beer and poanty exchange crowd...they are immune I suppose...I also believe that poetry can be very fun...and will continue to have a fun time ...creating poems... come play with me is a great thread for the creator and thos that come here for fun, why is some one upset cause some one is having fun? Must be those against having fun.

who might they be, exactly?

ruminator had no problem understanding the rules when they were quoted to him.

here is his answer to the same post that both you and quietpoet gave confused responses to.

maybe you should read the post again and see what it says, not what you think it says.

You have stated your case and conviced me. You're extremely persuasive for a 2 post newbie.

:D

I'll keep my random nonsense on the GB where it belongs from now on. That rule does explain a lot of what's over there right now, though.

...sorry if I offended anyone.

The ones I make up?

I have been here for over a year, and there have always been entertainment on virtually all of the threads. This entire thought process is stuffy and ridiculous. If the village idiot is pretending to be the leader, do we have to listen? OR should we just be good little christian lemmings and blindly follow them off the cliff? If there isn't flexibility... read fun..., there is nothing and there will be nothing but boredom here. This entire site is about interaction. There is nothing going on that isn't exactly that. You get someone here with 2 (two) posts and you give them credence? Give me a break...

This is a fun thread that is in the poetry forum with poems what is wrong with that, why are they (lauren, pat, amd porta ) worried about this thread having fun when every other threads here is posted with out poetry, I like rybka but his medicine thread is not poetry and ...well I will not point fingers pat, I am just curious why this thread is singled out for what so many other threads end up being in the long run a thread with post of people sharing words and humor, where is the harm and where is this posted on those other threads? get the picture now, I know your smnart enough to figure that out for me and tell me ...please go ahead...enlighten me as to why others are not being told the same thing, this thread will have poems of fun on it and that should satisfy those that are upset that some one is having fun in the poetry forum <geez> thanks for your concern for our thread posts!

i give credence to people who make sense, whether they have 2 or 2 million posts.

neither you nor i nor any other member here makes the rules for each forum. that is done by the owners of the website.

we don't have to like them, but, like in any community, we are expected to follow them.

Ignore-ance does not become you pat, close your mind if you will, answer only the questions that aid your point. You see posts everyday that are fun related so why is this thread bothering you? I don't think any rules are broken when there is poetry in this thread, more than others! You are obviously just defending a friends point, so I have to ask, did you read the thread before you posted? or are you reading it now?

this thread, since early on, has nothing to do with poetry. there is no other thread in this forum that has less to do with poetry.

any thread that has nothing to do with poetry for this many pages, does not belong on this forum, it belongs on the general board. it's that simple. those are the rules.

i don't happen to know the newbie, but she's right. that is also simple.

do you honestly find this thread threatening or offensive? (o_o) SOME ONE DID... for every thread in here rather it is titled so or not has pages of written conversations between poets! So you actually don't know why the post was made that displays a grievance or the seed that spawned such interaction? You simply agreed with porta, I see (o_o) okay bows humble <grin

i never said i found it offensive or threatening, nor did ANYONE else!

all they said, and all i said, was that it does not belong on the poetry forum.

READ what people say, not what you imagine they are saying.

Art, my "More Medicine" thread is meant to be a storage vault for humor, nothing more. I have most of the jokes stored on an another site and on my HDs, but all have crashed in the not so distant past, so I have created a backup. Before I started my thread there was one on this forum called "Humor is the best medicine". I have never been able to locate it. But I think humor should be saved as well as verse, and often they can be the same.

oh Rybka, mi amigo
I enjoy your thread, honest and post there, I was trying to make a point and I realized when I used your thread that I shouldn't point fingers, if people are so gal-darn worried about a sexy vixen having fun in the poetry forum then I can only suggest they take their shoes off and stay awhile, relax and write and have fun, entertainment is what this site is for, not a buisness, amature erotic site for reading writing sharing and interaction of POETS <<<<

THANKS Rybka

and bows humble to ya, love your thread as I enjoy many, and not always about poetry >>>excuse the piss out of me <hehehehe>

If that's what the rules are it's what they are. It's not enough to be a serious concern. As any thread like this moved to the GB would be battered beyond any sense of fun the choice is simple.

If I don't like the rules, go elsewhere, right?

thanks Rumi
not quite a verbal sue me

I will try and write some humor
to keep the thread a poetic bloomer (~_*)

I've been here for a couple years and I have been subjected to some of the most venemous attacks for something as simple as supporting the dignity of life for homeless people.

I've seen good people ripped to shreds through the written words that could also bring some of the best laughter and warmest friendship. I always thought that tolerance was an important element of community.

Maybe I'm too holistic in my thinking but I can't understand how contained fun can be so disruptive. I don't see where creative expression is so disruptive.

My solution is simple. I don't open the threads I don't like or care for. I can't understand why my preferences should prevent others from enjoying something I don't like.

Unfortunately, this seems to be an inadequate solution in others' view. If the rules are enforced to the letter and I feel it creates an environment I'm not comfortable with, then I have a few choices.

:D ......generally, on the GB it's summed up with "go the hell someplace else if you don't like it here."

I just read the last page of this thread. IT IS ANYTHING BUT FUN. AS MANY OTHER THREADS HAVE BECOME. I have read thread after thread that had a page or two of witty banter. Should they be removed also? Part of the creative process comes from joyful stimulation. Rybkas thread allows laughter to open our minds and see things in humorous views. Stimulation.... this thread can be the same. So may I make a suggestion.

Let us write a poem about something fun. Add a line for each poet and lets see where it goes. We will then be playing by the rules and Pat will no longer whip us into submission. How is that for compromise?

I will start:

Mudpuddles:

His mind was like fucking a 3 inch muddle puddle,

who will be next?

blessings
du~

I missed all the fun ~ AGAIN!

Yes Art I have many G strings, thongs and other naughty goodies ;)

Thanks Art and RF for keeping the fun alive in my absence... :nana:

This thread has been around for weeks, don't know why it's suddenly attracting so much attention and analysis now...

Oh well keep having fun and posting ya poems (Poetry is posted on here also for any of you who it bothers :))

Now where is Art and that cream?...
