Crafty Litsters show your work!

Forgive the crappy camera phone selfie, but I am having so much fun making bloomers.

Lovely work!

I have several friends doing steampunk costuming. It's tempting to step sideways since I've always been drawn to Victorian style anyway, but there are local personalities who I'd rather not tangle with. I do a little entertainment for friends instead.

Thanks!

I started with an order for these and decided to make a full version as well. I'm loving running about in bloomers and a corset. There really isn't much competition around here, though we do have a fairly active steampunk group. They just don't know I'm out here, but I'm working on that.

In the mean time...so. much. fun.

Divine! :)

I'm a huge steampunk fan. Huge!

Four pints dill pickles
Eight pints bread and butter pickles
Four and one half pints watermelon jelly
Two pints pickled hot peppers
Four pints ketchup
Four quarts pickled vegetables (cuccumbers, carrots, celery, onion and assorted hot peppers)

my photos won't load.:(

I really want to learn to do this.

I absolutely need a bigger kitchen to be able to make that happen.

And either I'm going to have to have some one hire me for a part time gig, or my sales have to pick up in a major way for that to happen.

At home I dress how the damn I want. But outside I try to look semblance of normal. But I am revising this. Because I feel at home I should start to look less weird and outside more 'me' so that maybe I dress more cohesively and with more pleasure again. I used to take great joy in clothes. :).

Anyway.....I have been sorting clothes and if I wear only what I love of what I own I have about three things that fit that I can wear, and some nightwear.

*giggles*

Normal is boring. But then I'm trying to sell what I make, so wearing something a bit out there gets me attention, and in turn gets my business attention.

That and I'm a huge attention whore. ;)

I am REALLY wanting to do a purge. I think I'll probably rid myself of more than 1/2 my clothes. Maybe I'll make enough bloomers to wear every day. I totally rocked them around town yesterday.

I have NO placisting here with such talent ( and that's no false modesty) but I thought I would nonethe less proudly show G and my part way through project of a ceiling started this morning.

Cloud ceilings can look really fabulous...or they can look like ours :) but the point is, they make us happy. This ceiling is on a private landing used only by the master room. The ceiling is lathe and lime; fragile and very uneven. We hope to preserve it in original state but its got some damage. Hopefully the coat of appropriate paint, lovingly and gently dabbed in some places, will help. It suffered damp penetration for a couple of years while the house was empty and again during storms and not sure that it will cope with many more rain influxes.

Anyway, I'm dithering because this is so cruddy compared to what the rest of you do, but ...half way through a section of cloud ceiling....because this is a landing, it will have sunset/ sunrise colours in it. In the end, not much white actually shows., there are more shades of grey, but it looks whiter, less.....dramatic difference.

I want to come see your house.
I'll bring fruit salad...:D

Iris, you surely know YOU are welcome with out me saying it. And don't Bring the fruit salad.....you make it here with me. :)

I am fiercely protective over my kitchen space.....I only share it with G, but for the people of the cooking thread here, I think I make room gladly. :). I even think it would be FUN to cook together.

The house is mainly a mess though :(. Lots started, very little completed :D. This ceiling should be done in the next two weeks, but......it may fall down this winter:D. One never knows. :)

Besides which, if you visit......you might even want to TRY painting a cloud ceiling.......plenty need doing.....

I want to ombre a wall, but G says 'no' be cause we both know I am not good enough to do it well. The wall paper I saw that was perfect colour is.....over £200 for I think four drops. ( so, just over $300 today,€275 ) Its only for a down stairs lavatory, so it seems an ott spend, especially in a room where I prefer paint because of cleanliness. ( the room is tiny people's knee rests against the wall and the wall needs wiping!). Paint would be ideal, but it am not so good. Clouds are forgiving. ...when we are finished

I'll remember that when I'm in your part of the world.

Old house here too, so I do know how that works.:)

Do you have a place where you can practice your obre technique?
We lived in a flat before and did paint our bedroom with a structured light yellow paint and then glazed it with Venetian red.
The last wall was really perfect. :D

A few weeks ago I decided to do some serious yarn de-stashing. I found one particular skein of yarn that made me think of Master immediately. I've made him a few things over the years, but never socks. We are both hoping that he will be able to wear his boots again, soon, and he should have some good socks to go with them. I got a lot of knitting done while keeping him company in the hospital. So, Ta-da!
