We should have a party, and all wear 'the wanderer dress' :D. I go to some things with G where the majority of others are wearing academic gowns. The traditional female garb is sort of subdued nondescript evening wear ( I usually wear a black dress). I notice the more esteemed the people on the 'high table' get the less smart and less bright as they go. Navy features heavily. For me I think I'm going brighter and brighter( I am only guest) . Last time I did wear a black dress, but with bright pink shoes. I don't see the point in buying a dress just to wear to that place.

I would feel compelled to wear orange and lime green or some such, just to break up the darkness. That's been the best thing about doing art shows...eclectic clothing is almost a requirement.

I have been looking for something bronze or very darkly warmly gold or something ( not sure with hair colour change though) for a while. Something dark enough to go ...'huh? its subdued', but that feels very me, and fitting for the environment to people with more sensitivity than an instruction manual. Sometimes the best way to challenge things cleverly I think is to just jump the boundaries in a way that makes the people on the right side of it feel not threatened but a little envious maybe, and do in the setting better than what is asked, MORE in keeping! toe the line better, just up the ante a little, but most importantly, to wear what one feels really at home in.

Showing my bias here but...how about a splash of color with some jewelry?

Here's about half of the finished yarn from my rainbow fluff.

Well you certainly won't get lost in a crowd, even if you only end up making socks :D
What is it destined for, anyway?

Probably some fingerless gloves. I have a nifty two-color pattern that looks like stained glass, so I'm going to use this paired with black.

DS those colors are pretty! I love the transition between the pink and blue.

Just finished up season working for a certain veterans charity. Getting ready to switch back to painting for the Snowbird season. I mainly do tropical or tribal designs on repurposed items. These are 2 of my blue parrots on some bamboo trays.

Pretty sweet!! :)

This is the other yarn I started working on a few weeks ago. There was twice as much as the rainbow fluff, and I haven't had as much time to spin, but I finally got it done today! It's a total of 1,140 yards of fairly fine yarn, good for a lace shawl I have in mind. I love working lace!
