Cry Baby UAW Appeals Volkswagen Workers Rejection!

I fully admit the unions gave themselves a black eye when they started defending the lazy and what not but they have really changed sense the bankruptcys

they've grown a little bit but they are still flawed. union's think the competition comes from one's country, but the sad reality is American's buy crap from China.

when jobs can be automated, and quality improved the union will fight it. and in sorry states like Wisc, Ill ... the union would mostly likely win that battle. yet, the union loses the war as those jobs are then outsourced to China

What does this have to do with my posts here?

prove that you are mentally defective and unable to offer solid ideas. your opinions are flawed.

Granted, you are not as mentally ill as those like Rob, Sean, UD, Merc, TheThrobe, Izzy, and RJ

If you havent noiced jobs are coming back. Its getting cheaper to build in the states. The Chinese are starting to realize they are getting the short end and want more money.

and more jobs will come back, however, with heavy automation.

the flaw with China, is oil. high the price of oil goes, the more expensive it is to ship products.

China will figure out the quality issues, just like Japan, Korea, and Twain did.

This is true. Still need people to run and maintain the machines as well as load the trucks. I think there will be a huge need in the trades within the next few years. The auto companies are hiring like crazy here in michigan.

and that is a very good thing. wish that there were more jobs.

sad reality is this though (jumping subjects a little), people that work at McDonald's are not worth $15 an hour. 99% of those jobs can be automated from one using a kiosk to place the order (or a smart phone app) to a machine flipping burgers and serving up the fries.

middle class goes are becoming scarce ... times are changing. in my opinion, I think most union leaders are still in the "steam" age and need to come up to at least the 20th century.

So the VW's built at that plant since May 2011 are sub-standard!!! VW should be ashamed to sell those shabby non-union vehicles.

Don't put words into my mouth, k. I never said that or even suggested it. I saw an article that gave a different point of view and shared it without even expressing my opinion of it. I should have known it was a waste of time.

VW has a business model that includes workers in the decision making. How hard it that to understand? Are facts so uncomfortable that you have to make up thoughts for me to make me look stupid so to discredit me rather than address the simple fact that this is the way that company works?

To paraphrase somebody (I have no idea who): A mind is like a parachute. It works best when open.

Could that be because MI recently passed a right to work law?

No. They were hiring before that. What they do now is hire part time first. Make sure you're worth a damn before hiring you on permanent. Countless businesses have done that for years

And wages will continue to stagnate because of the lack of collective bargaining. Welfare will increase in this country, dependenacy will rise and we'll have nobody to blame but ourselves.

There is no good reason for them to get a do over. The UAW was defeated and so be it. That's the way democracy is supposed to work and whatever pain comes from it.

Wages stagnate for the same reason that every other price of anything stagnates, over-supply. As we automate there aren't MORE jobs, but less. As we regulate industries and prop up wages making outsourcing progressively more attractive we get less and less jobs.

Less jobs and more people is not a recipe for higher wages.

also:

All of us have been raised in an environment where we EXPECT inflation rather than deflation of continuity of the price of goods and services. We HOPE that that inflation benefits us. For that to happen SOMEBODY has to be left behind.

If we had no inflation at all, it would be easier for people to decide if they were getting a good wage for their labor and make their career plans accordingly.

What? You don't make any sense.

Did you mean "proof"?

you think socialism is good ....

clearly, there is something wrong with you! defend, how on earth you can believe in socialism?

I will give you two points...
1. socialism works in time of war
2. socialism will work when the Zombies come
some would say that the zombies are here, aka the obama people
as the obama kind are brainless drones sucking the life out of humanity

They can. The union protects you from being fired without just cause.

in theory yes, but they also defend the lazy & bad workers. just look at our educational system ... New York did a study and found a large number of teachers that were unfit to teach (from sexual to mentally abusing students) and these mental defectives were moved into administration aka they did no actual work) and because they were union they were protected and not fired.

a job is "your" personal responsibility. a 'good' manager will not fire an employee with no cause and if they do, then you should have gotten your own ass out of that job before you were fired.

its too expensive to fire good people ... a union offers no value, just adds another layer of expense to the problem. a non union worker can sue a company. personal, I would never waste my time on that as I would jump ship way before being fired.

Uh, no.

As we automate, labor is transferred from one industry to another. In 1776 ninety-eight percent of American labor farmed, today 2% farm and we produce more food. The surplus farm labor went to other industries.

Where America fails is with innovation and new industries to absorb the surplus labor. Half of America is armed with clipboards to oppose innovation wherever it germinates.

I would agree...and with this regime in power, well obama has no clue about small business or 'what' a small business does.

lets take a look at the asshat obama, he memorizes bullshit and pukes it out in a speech. if we remove the teleprompter from obama, he's a gargling fool. how can one expect obama to help stimulate small business or the economy in general. hell, I would bet that obama has no clue what P&L means as obama only comes from the leach side (aka sucking down tax payer dollars).

...is something you have pulled out of your ass.

no! you've stated in the past that you are pro-socialist. I'm sorry if you enjoy pulling stuff out of your own ass

once again, another GB socialist goes down in flames

I have? Feel free to show me where.

I'm not zealotly anti socialist. Social democracy has some elements that works pretty well. And some that don't.
