At 16 you can get married, join the army, have a full time job, drive a car, smoke...but you not allowed to go in pubs (not that that stopped me). The reason it's legally rape is that when a person is under the age, the law considers that person not to be mature enough to give consent. If you think that's dumb, think for a minute: isn't there an age when a kid can't give consent? Would you trust a five year old to give consent? Certainly not. Maybe 16 or 18 is too high, but I agree there should be some cutoff.

got a little story . . .

So, an ex of mine and I are still very good friends. We're about three years apart. this makes him now twenty one and me eighteen. I was dating him when I was fifteen. here in Texas the legal age of consent is 17. yes, we had sex while we were together. Well, in a nut shell . . . after we broke up, a year or so past and he began dating a girl who was fifteen. He met her on his 20th Birthday. They were together for about six months before he got hit with Statatory rape. Her brother hated him and because of that set him up for it. the mother of the girl cried fake crocodile tears and got my friend in deep shit. It totally screwed his life over. not only is he labled as a sex offender, but faces a long time in Jail. he's on the run from the cops, will probably never get a decent job, etc. just because it's damaged him mentally and his mind set is now where he can't trust anyone.

I hate the law as well, especially while it's hurting someone just because they fall in love. though I understand its there to keep forty year olds away from twelve year olds in an improper manner.
If you do end up doing this, please be careful.

I don't think that it's that they're not SATISFIED with women their own age, but that they can't CONTROL women their own age.

I guess that they figure (consciously or otherwise) that they can "groom" a young girl more easily than a woman their own age.

No, its not an exageration. A lot of the sex offender requirements are getting pretty "shallow" in the past years. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that you don't even need to be convicted. I'm pretty sure that's wrong, but for some reason, that is in my head as right.

One question, is your drive to do this kid more out of spite for the mother, or more reason than one. Its a dangerous event (not-violently, of course), but you could wind up in a lot of trouble. Be safe.
