Embarras de Richesse

SciFi/Fantasy isn't a favorite genre of mine, but occasionally an author brings in a good story (cf MoJo48's "Girl of My Heart" series). GeorgeTasker isn't quite up to that standard, but his latest "Cockweasel Meets the King" is worth reading, just for the hero--and his name is definitely his fame.

Starting onto the track and heading to the starting gate for the N-Day, Roden_Addison has a fast-moving, ingenious entry. Watch for it.

Thank you Kind Sir for the mention. My name has changed from MoJo48 to this one. I'm working on Ch-05 of Lady of My Heart tonight hope to finish soon. :)

toffeepopnz has a new story "Neighbors with Benefits". Not a traditional romance, and does strain credulity, but well written and entertaining.

Just got a mild rebuke from RedHairdedandFriendly for leaving a L&T (that's Letters and Transcripts, not Landlord & Tenant--sorry, occupational hazard) she had sent me last week unedited. It needed almost nothing from me. The letter picks up the theme from Red's January essay "A Bit of Red". I suggested then that the essay be expanded to a novel, as it was very real and very moving. The letter doesn't fail to keep the story real and moving. As always from Red, a good read.

essexchickuk is being inducted into the backdoor hall of fame. Line astern, chaps.

DG hear, MFG, is getting both praise and blame for Ch 2 of Need for Revenge; no surprise, he listens to his inner voice regardless.

An interesting introduction to a retelling of the Aphrodite and Anchises story by emma1994uk. Needs more to it, but a promising beginning.

SilkStockingsLover has posted Ch 3 of Cocksucking College Sister. Incest/Taboo really isn't my genre, but Silk can heat a story up with the best.

DG Hear, MFG, just posted Ch 3 of "Need for Revenge", and the reviews are really mixed. I understand he pushed the envelope here, and it's not his usual style or approach, but a writer must go where his artistic conscience tells him to go. A writer can't keep writing the same story forever, however much his fans call out for more.

Geronimo_Appleby has a first-timer with "The Barmaid", and I loved the local colour. I haven't been in York in twenty years, but I felt like I walked back into the pub where I stayed then and found myself listening to a story with a pint of Sam Smith's Yorkshire Bitter in my hand. I thought the ending was contrived; sweet rather than bitter, but I'm a bitter drinker from way back, so if you like the lager, more power to ya, mate! Good work, GA!

Finally, a wee bleat on my own horn. My parody of E. M. Forster's classic novel just posted. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I haven't flattered Forster, as I can't write nearly as well as he. But it was fun to write, and I hope fun to read. Some of the language is vilely racist, but so was the language of the time of which I am writing, ninety years ago, though Forster never used it. My late father-in-law said it, nearly fifty years ago: "Racism is the new pornography", meaning banned and unmentionable by decent people. He was a prophet without honor in his own country.

Nachthexe has written an interesting story in "Fire Storm", but it really isn't Romance; should be Erotic Horror. Nevertheless, the writing conveys the mood well.

Final chapter is out. Thanks for your help editing on this one. It was a fun ride.
With respect
DG

DG Hear, MFG, I see Ch 4 is out. If I blew the continuity getting Mary Ann back home from the gangbang, sorry. It's a fast-moving story and dragged me along as I copy edited. Certainly it is a change-of-pace from your recent "Reflections" series, which was a classic DG hear, MFG, feel-good story. The mixed reviews for NFR are clearly the result of the strong LW undercurrent, although each chapter in the series couldn't very well be categorized as LW. Still, as I said, a writer must go where his/her artistic conscience sends him/her.

Do I hate those locutions "him/her" and "his/her"! I've just submitted an essay about Sex and the Personal Pronoun. I'm wishing for a crisp, gender-neutral third person singular personal pronoun and third person singular possessive adjective that would get rid of them. Cluttered prose is a real bugbear of mine.

Brandie69 has posted "I'm Not a Lesbian", and though the author may or may not be, the character-narrator is a lady who doth protest way too much. But if she has not the gift of gab, she sure has the gift of tongue.

She reminds me of the Dorothy Parker classic:

"Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
An endless varietomania;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong;
And I'm Queen Marie of Romania."

A Strong Debut

laceNlthrgrrl is In the Dark, and dancing to her Master's tune. Hot BDSM, finely written.

"It" and "its" fill the role of what you're wishing for, no?

What does MFG stand for?

"It" and "its" commonly denote inanimate beings, or much less commonly, animals. I'm looking for the gender-neutral pronoun or possessive adjective for human beings.

And I haven't found the gender-neutral terms I like.

"MFG" means Master of Feel Good, which title fits DG Hear to a "T".

Back in college, a friend of mine coined the term "hus" as a gender-neutral pronoun. Can't say as it caught on, though. :)

The word "one" sometimes works. But only (a contraction, as it turns out, of "one-ly") sometimes.

Carlus, it's frustrating. There should be words, but I've yet to find any that have attained general acceptance.

HisPerfectGirl asked me for a plug for her latest "A Hard Man Is Good to Find", which title I think she stole from the late great Mae West. I don't usually accept plugs, but I didn't want to disappoint a lady, and this is a hot, mechanically well-turned-out stroker. Unfortunately, that's all it is, no character development, no plot. Not that there's anything wrong with well-produced strokers.

Ah. Well, if it keeps to the pattern it's established in past years, my MFG ohio should be having its first 2012 submissions show up on site in the next month or two.

RedHairedandFriendly has posted a Letters & Transcripts called "Dear John". Echoes of an essay she posted back in January, "A Bit of Red". She mentioned elsewhere on one of the Lit BBs that she was working on a novel; I hope she uses some of the material from these two pieces.

I'm delighted to announce that Grandmistress Lisa Jones is back, and I hope will soon be posting GMLJ's latest, a short but haunting vignette.

And Saxon Stonedyke has sent me Ch 5 of "Lady of My Heart", my next copy editing project. Looking forward to more action, in and out of bed.

You're a hard man, Estragon—a hard man.

No Good Deed

you know the rest.

Seriously, folks, it's a mechanically well-crafted stroker.

Grandmistress Lisa Jones has a new story, short but very good. One of her darker, headier pieces.

And Lit's answer to the Energizer Bunny, DG Hear, MFG, just sent me the manuscript for his next. He's thinking about the Nude Day contest, and that will add to an already strong field.

Better than the Belmont Stakes tomorrow, anyway. My comments on I'll Have Another will appear on my "Disappointments" thread on this BB.

Saxon Stonedyke won't disappoint her fans with Ch5 of "Lady of My Heart". Ames and Dragon keep the sex hot, and Saxon keeps the action moving.

Next up is DG Hear, MFG's, Nude Day Contest entry. Even if he can't place this time due to his previous place, he'll certainly add to the competition. Hope to turn it around soon, so he can get to the starting gate with the rest of the field.

Ilmonamour just posted the last chapter of "Running Into Coverage" and the fans are loving it. Another fine series by an excellent writer.
