The Hits Just Keep On Coming

Pun intended.

Good stuff just now. Crimson Sun makes a strong romantic debut with “The Girl Who Came Back”, a hot, sweet, two-hankie tearjerker, and the fans just love it.

I once saw Mariano Rivera pitch in Yankee Stadium, but DG Hear, MFG, has a slider that puts Mariano the Magnificent to shame, to utter shame! Can’t say more than that at this time, as the story is a work-in-process, but the plot twist caught me looking at a called strike three. You’ll love it when it posts.

Storm62, DG Hear, MFG’s, UK equivalent is back with “Cousins (and Lovers)”. Kissing cousins, and plenty else.

Never Intending to Slight the Ladies

Calibeachgirl has Ch 3 of "Someone to Love", and it's got a sweet ending.

RedHairedandFriendly has a lovely wake-up call in "A Quick Good Morning."

Watch for these stories to post. Good stuff.

Grandmistress Lisa Jones has posted his/her latest, "Mirror Up to Nature", and although it's categorized as NH, I would have put it in EH. I can hear Rod Serling's gravelly voice just after the ending, with his trademarked chilling closing, and then the "dada, dede, dada, dede" of years gone by. How I miss the Twilight Zone!

Brunne is making a debut with "Under My Skin". Good build-up.

EroticVeronika has a hot stroker "Gloria Breached", that comes from behind with a rush. And only one quibble; good writing!

DG hear, MFG, has his Nude Day entry ready for a final edit.

Eagerly awaiting the start of the N-Day contest, one week away; hope for some really good entries, and may the best writer win!

My last comment about DG Hear, MFG's, new story was so flat I want to withdraw it. The final version sang! It's vintage DG Hear, MFG, in a category in which he has not published for six years, and the plot just keeps you reading. A very fine effort by one of Lit's best. I hope he enters the entire story in the N-Day, whether or not he is eligible to place.

Good News!

Serenissima Syd is back, with "Alejandro's Song". And is it sweet and is it hot? With Syd, the answer is "yes". Autobiographical, maybe? Only Syd knows. But her description of a Texas norther is right on.

LovelySweetDream has one, in "Visitor". Just another day in the Stony Lonesome? Not hardly. A hot debut.

LadyFrederika posted five stories in a debut yesterday 6/13, and at least one today, 6/14. I understand the urge to post, but that's flooding the zone.

Estragon, Thank you for the bump on my lastest story. It truly is appreciated. The readers need to know that with the help of my editor (estragon) my story is a much better read. I consider us a team. I couldn't have done it without you.
With Respect

I'd have no hesitation in recommending Lovecraft68's new story "A Mother's Sacrifice", bar the mechanicals. If Incest/Taboo is your thing, the plot and character work are excellent; but oh, those mechanicals!

GeronimoAppleby has Melissa in a pair of Tight Jeans, and ol' Melissa discovers they were a good investment. Hot story set in Cancun.

Calibeachgirl has just posted Ch 1 "Don't You Need Somebody to Love", and it's a hit. Editor's choice and great reviews. A real good story, emphasis on "real".

LaRascasse has a novella in the works. And Pultoy has an interesting essay "So, Have You Lived Your Whole Life....". And LiveCat's "Living a Lie" is well-plotted, with believable characters, although mechanically flawed.

Thanks for your editing. Just polishing it up for submission. Not exactly novella length, just a long stand-alone.

LaRascasse, you're welcome. I wish you every success.

Our mutual friend SilkStockingsLover has a new story for the N-Day, set in Amsterdam, always a fun city, and Silk's characters have a fine time.

“Comin’ off the line as the light turns green” (pun definitely intended) in the N-Day.

DG Hear, MFG’s, “The Exhibitionist and the Voyeur” opened slow, but is gaining.

Roden Addison’s “A Girl, a Motorcycle, and a Gas Mask” opened well.

Manyeyedhydra has a Highland fling going with “Iron Girders and Steel Springs”, an EH that shows his usual mastery of the craft.

RedHairedandFriendly’s “Naked Souls Know No Color” shows that, while they may know no color, they sure know heat.

And SilkStockingsLover roars out of the gate with “‘Pet Mommy’: Becoming a Mommy-slut”--her fans are going wild.

Geronimo_Appleby has “Nude With Mum in the Sun”; or is it son in Mum? Anyway, it sure heated up the beach in Gran Canaria.

WaltForest's essay "Pussy Preferences" should start some interesting discussion.

And I suggested retitling Geronimo_Appleby's N-Day Entry "Nude with Mum in the Sun" as "Nude with Son in Mum." Adolescent, but correct.

SA Penn Lady's Facebook page promises the conclusion of "Rhythm and the Blue Line". Looking forward.

SA Penn Lady is having a final read-through of "Rhythm and the Blue Line", and will be posting, all being well, next week. Breathless anticipation.

SilkStockingsLover has another chapter (this is Ch 6) of "Bedding the Babysitter". Fans of Silk's unique perspective, and lovers of lesbian D/s, can anticipate a treat.

As for me, I'm off to Northern Virginia, Civil War country, next week, but alas! not for watching reenactments or walking battlefields. This is a continuing ed course.

And they won't be disappointed. Just finished copy editing this one, and SilkStockingsLover has really grown as a writer. Sweet and hot! Silk is really showing what she can do as a writer, portraying emotions and feelings as well as doing the dirty in premier league style. Silk rules!

And if this be "slobbering", make the most of it!

Speaking of fine writers, SA Penn Lady has two new chapters for Rhythm and the Blue Line. The fans will love the ongoing saga of Ryan the musician and Brody the forward. I am deeply conscious of the honor I've been given, to copy edit for SA Penn Lady.

A second story for HarperBliss, "Wetter", just posted, and the ladies in the story definitely are.

The leaders in the N-Day are running closely bunched. Plenty of time though, so nothing is conclusive.

EdwardMidWeston has posted a really funny story, "The Bokor and the 25-shot Jackoff". The fans are loving it, and it is a ridiculous and cute story.

LaRascasse has posted "Lucid Ending", an I/T with some interesting plotting. His heroine Karen is quite a character.

My attempt at humor "She was an Architect" has posted; not above mediocrity. Oh well, back to handicapping the N-Day.

Close running at the head of the pack, only hundredths between the leaders. But a lot of new entries joined up today (25 June), and no scores have posted for them, so it's of course anybody's contest.

I wanted to give broader publicity to my comment to DaYeKen's latest "What Are Friends For?". He's a good writer, with believable characters in believable situations, but he posts to LW. And that of course is a painting a bull's-eye on one's chest; the BTB's and the trolls only too ready, willing and able to oblige.

So here's what I said at the time: "DaYeKen, It's a good story. Don't mind the trolls, they are all eighteen and live in their parents' basements."

Not bothered by trolls

I don't worry about the trolls too much. I think the worst thing you can say about a story is " I couldn't be bothered to read far enough to comment." Most, but not all, people who give feedback do so based on whether they agreed with the outcome of the story rather than the story itself. If my story makes people think enough to have an opinion, then I have done my job.

The only comments I delete are the ones that are blatantly racist. Some people think my nom de plume is of asian origin.

"Some people think my nom de plume is of asian origin." DaYeKen.

Speaks volumes, that. Ignorance has to be the most widely distributed article on the planet.

Getting back to the N-Day, some new authors have scored well coming out of the starting gate today. But the worth of a horse (and a writer) are tested in a long race. And some of these new stories are nine-pagers. Goes against conventional wisdom.

And some of these new stories are nine-pagers. Goes against conventional wisdom.

Not really.

The contest is judged by score with a minimum vote total. Long stories turn away a lot of readers, but those who finish tend to be fans or the ones who are sucked in and are going to give it a good score. All you need is 25 ( + sweep cushion ) of those to win.

The risk is not qualifying, which with the current higher voting trends rarely happens.

It's something the troll-who-shall-not-be-named complains about all the time. He claims it's cheating, but anybody can write a long story if they choose, so anybody can take advantage of it if they wish. Same for the category bias, where some categories score better than others. Nothing stopping anyone from writing to the categories that give them an advantage.

If you're really concerned about winning, it's not difficult to figure out where the advantages lie.

Or you can just write what you want, not worry about winning, and enjoy the other benefits of the contest :p
