Embarras de Richesse

Not a genre I read for entertainment, but Mister Reason has an IT, "Life's Not Literotica", that's better than the usual formulaic stuff.

Cromagnonman has an Ex/Voy worth reading, "A View to Die For". Nice local Australian colour, well-drawn characters (even if the girlfriend and the kids are too good to be true) and a promised HAE. But needs a copy editing from one familiar with Australian usage.

LaRascasse managed to get Ch 3 of "Life With Katrina" to me before falling ill with fever and food poisoning. I wish him a speedy recovery, and a speedy return to writing. It's an interesting series.

ladyroxanne21 has a cute, funny story, "Indecisive". Worth a read and a giggle.

And LaRascasse put some good characterization into Ch 3 of "Life With Katrina". Takes a while to get there, but worth waiting for.

Look for Roden Addison to continue the Jake-Samantha series with "The Widow's Daughter"; Miss Sonya comes of age.

As has been said elsewhere, DG Hear, MFG, will be posting his latest in chapters, as it really isn't summery enough for Summer Lovin'. But it's a very well-written series, and his many fans won't be disappointed.

LaSalia has an interesting essay "Female Non-Consent Fantasies". While I have questions about some of her conclusions, her essay is thoughtful and will bring out some useful discussions.

Thanks Estragon, I have subnitted four of the six chapters so far, none posted yet. Thanks for your help with the editing. I think I did get enough summer love in the later chapters of the story, it just got too long for a single contest submisson. Around 20,000 words.
With respect
DG

DG Hear, MFG, the point we discussed, how long should a contest story, or indeed any story, be, has been debated to death and back to life again. The conventional wisdom (not more than three Lit pages) has been bunked and debunked again and again. I don't know that there is an answer, outside the author's own head.

Ch 1 of the story DG Hear, MFG, and I were just discussing, "Moral Climate", has posted, and we've got a case of global warming. The fans are warming up to the story, and DG Hear, MFG, has his characters warming up.

DG Hear's latest series, "Moral Climate" Chs 1 through 4, has posted, and so far the reviews have been generally good. It's very typical of his work, and his fans have given the series a warm welcome, so far.

SilkStockingsLover has once again demonstrated that she has a filthy mind with "Willingly Cuckolded for Love"--everything but the proverbial kitchen sink. One thing is certain; if you want hard-core, SilkStockingsLover delivers. Four out of the top twenty stories by views during the last twelve months are hers. 400,000 sex addicts can't be wrong.

Two good ones. sun_sea_sky has "The Rescue", where his characters aren't Ken and Barbie, but real people with real feelings of inadequacy.

And DaYeKen shows vastly improved mechanicals, and a well-plotted storyline, in "Sugar Daddy". His writing has really improved, and the story is original and keeps you reading. Really good.

Well thanks Estragon, though if by mechanicals you mean grammar etc then the credit should really go to my friend and editor juicystarchild. I'd like to think I am getting better but she always improves it. In fact she does what I think a good editor should do, evern re-writes just says "you don't need this bit" or "this sounds awkward I suggest you re-word it" She takes a lot of time and care with it but always leaves me with a story that I can still think of as mine.

Everybody needs a juicy friend.

DeYaKen, your editor did very well. If you compare "Sugar Daddy", from purely grammar, spelling and sentence structure standpoints, to your earlier two-part series "Secrets and Lies", which were the first of your stories I read, it's the difference between night and cliché.

And since I've had to drop out of copy editing, I'd be very obliged if your editor could take up one or two of the authors for whom I formerly copy edited. I feel I left them in the lurch and would like to find editors willing to accept writers; without obligation on anyone's part, of course.

Please send me a PM, or ask your editor to do so, if she is able.

Juicy, sorry RL prevents you from taking on other writers' work. There are so few really good editors available; all the better ones seem to have full plates, as they deal with RL, their own writing, and the authors here with whom they already work.

Hi estragon, maybe that's because the good editors are thorough. I lucked-out on being chosen at random by DeYaKen to edit for him, and it really is a privilege and a pleasure to edit some of the better stories on literotica.

Juicy, couldn't agree with you more, and I've said similar things many times. Was very, very sorry to have to leave off copy editing.

The Humorists Are Back

Frankel makes a debut with "Narrator", blowing up every cliché. A real laugher, something I see less often than I would like.

Trapper_Jock_Mcintyre has got a hard-boiled Dashiell Hammet parody in "Cindy Masters, Dyke Detective, Ch 01". Got the patter right, and looks to be a funny story.

DG Hear, MFG, has posted the conclusion to "Moral Climate", Ch 6 concluding Jeff Adams' story. It was a farewell for me. I wish DG Hear, MFG, every success in all his future endeavors. He is a premier storyteller.

They're Off and Racing in the Summer Lovin'

sun_sea_sky has taken over for Darkniciad, and the first leaderboard is up, fortunately without enough information to make it too easy for the bombers and boosters...but these seem to manage to do their harm whatever anyone does.

Some personal favorites of mine: Saxon Stonedyke is sweatin' it out; IlMonAmour has her story under construction in Hawaii, and Sandra Mustard is working on erecting something in the Aloha State as well.

Geronimo Appleby brings back memories of Scarborough in "A Shed, Summer, and Scarborough". This phrase just made me see the beach at evening: " the sun-speckled pewter of the North Sea beyond." A great, hot story.

And, off the topic of the contest, SilkStockingsLover has a series in process--starring her own self. Look for it, fans, but it will be a while before it posts.

Ah, yes, it's working already. Sorry to break it to you, though, Sandra. This isn't a review. This is just a shoutout. Maybe that's enough for you, however. I don't think I've ever seen an actual review from estagon.

This thread isn't really for reviews, though. Estragon just highlights stories that he enjoyed and thinks others will, too.

PL, I think you will have to put 4glory6 on your ignore list too. You can see he likes to attack people. All I did to incur his wrath was to ask him to criticize stories and not people. That after he spent all day insulting people on one of estragon's threads. Politeness with him is useless. Just one sentence of his reply encouraged me to put him in the silent room. Apparently, he followed me here.

I bet he is on dozens of ignore lists and not a single buddy list. He'll never have an intelligent discussion with others because he lacks the basic ingredient.

This refers to Sandra's mention ("plug me, plug me!") of estragon's "reviews" on the summer contest thread. And I trust you are fully capable of reviewing the recent day of the "Disappointments" thread to see for yourself who was trying to snuff who out on the discussion of deadending story series, PennLady.

Estragon does highlight people he's edited for, including me, and for that I thank him. However, he's also noted stories from first-time authors and others that he does not edit.

I think it's easy to take offense, misinterpret statements and the like on the internet. So I try not to.

Back to work. Ben Long's "The Student" is excellent. Goody Goody Two Shoes has a twelve-pager, "Best Summer of Our Lives", that I need to read, as it has drawn some very positive reactions.

I frankly don't care if what I'm doing is a review or a "shoutout", whatever that may be. I express my opinion, that's all.

And I'll try again: Say whatever you like, wherever you like. And I will do likewise.
