Embarras de Richesse

Grandmistress Lisa Jones has started publishing "A Tangled Web", and it looks like it's being well-received. I had a good time copy editing this series. Despite all the historical issues a purist might raise, it got me to suspend disbelief.

DG Hear, MFG, is readying his latest series, "Thoughts", for publication. He can tell a story with the best.

Thanks for the encouragement Estragon. Ch. 1 of Thoughts posted today. Not a feel good read but a good read all the same. LOL

DG Hear, MFG, can indeed tell a story with the best. Maybe it's a story that gets under some readers' skins. Maybe it brings out comments like group therapy. But people read and react, and that says a great deal about this first-class storyteller.

Speaking of good stories, Storm62 has a winner with "Two Notes, Two Calls". I may be an old softy and an easy mark for a tearjerker, and I'll plead guilty on both counts, but as a father of two daughters, that was my kind of story. Storm62 has really hit his/her stride.

Good news from Ilmonamour. While her Texas story is on hold, she's working up the return of Brad and Sam from "Reading the Defense". I eagerly await a feel-good football story, to counteract the incredible story coming out of State College, PA (a town I really like). I need to escape from those headlines.

First, thanks to my fellow veterans. No patriotic rant or noble sentiments from me--just thanks. Better late than never.

Now for some stories.

Krenna Smart's The Slope. Billed as EC, I think it should have been EH. What started as stroke ends as chill. Needs a light copy edit, but good concept.

Paniolo Boy's "Destined to be Lovers" is a sweet feel-good with a travelogue. If you have a literary sweet tooth, it's your kind of story.

VirginiaWild's Walking the Dog is more like I Walk the Line. Especially the ending, but Virginia hits the brakes in time.

Thinking back on DG Hear, MFG's, latest series "Thoughts", I went back and looked at the comments to the concluding Chapter 5. Slamdawgg's comment really nailed it for me. I left a public comment, and won't repeat that here, but I will repeat Slamdawgg's comment, because it says it all: "This extended story hasn't been the smoothest of reads. In end analysis , I think it was worthwhile & I thank DG for challenging me as a reader."

DG Hear, MFG, has done it again. "Thoughts Revisited" answers his fans' demand for Carol's side of the story. I thought it wasn't necessary--boy was I wrong! Really good stuff, in the best DG Hear tradition. Watch for it when he posts it.

RedHairedandFriendly's Santa Claus story is a winner--hot and well-written. Should be a tough contender in the Winter contest.

YDB95's "A Rose for Christmas" is a hot story. Some readers may not care for the plot, but judge for yourself.

Thanks Estragon. I submitted it last night 11-12-11. Hopefully it will be up in a couple of days. (non-erotic category)

Best news out of Pennsylvania this week is that SA Penn Lady has a new series in the works--working title "Ryan". Totally, typically SA Penn Lady in top form.

Some new stories. SweetestThing's "A Proper Send-off" is a fine story, hot, sweet and with characters you can really like.

Manyeyedhydra has a Christmas story that's dark and hot, like mulled wine somebody spiked.

Ignoble, the author of a really good humor story that never got the kudos it should have gotten, "The Guidance Counselor", brings out a real laugher, "Room 222". People in motion--and how!

I have high hopes for the Winter Holiday competition.

SilkStockingsLover's many fans will be pleased to hear that she has a Winter Holidays story in the works--very hot, hits all the bases.

Just FYI, the official title of the next hockey story is "Rhythm and the Blue Line."

SA Penn Lady has another Romance percolating away, with her usual well-drawn characters. Her fans will love this one.

SilkStockingsLover is running strong in the Winter Holiday contest. However, SweetestThing's send-off story has probably sent more people off (nudge nudge, wink wink). Two hot tales (pun definitely intended) from Canada. Global warming?

Incidentally, no one has picked up on my miserable French. Shouldn't this thread be entitled "Embarras de Richesses"?

Another Strong Newcomer

is Jenna_Jane, showing in "Resolution Loophole" some really fine writing (although needing an estragon quibbling, once-over-easy). I'll quote just one sentence (you gotta read the whole story): "This was the difference between men and woman. A woman was a hostess, even while naked." Classic!!

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Honey28's Home for the Holidays is a sweet story, engagingly told, with good mechanicals.

Be the foregoing as it may (and I don't feel like trying to figure it out), DG Hear, MFG, has a new one in the works. A change of pace from his recent "Thoughts" series; I think his fans will get on board with this one.

And LettersfromTatyana hints at a forthcoming story. Good to have her back.

If you're reading this, Serenissima Syd, why are you wasting time with my drivel-quibble, and not working on the successor to "How to Save a Life"? If Luna, Penn and Tatyana are on board, where are you? PS- If you have a spare minute, wave to the north--Herself is in Houston visiting our younger daughter.

Mistress D_Lynn is back with "Switch Play"; truth in labeling, because there's switching roles and some good caning as well. Good filthy sex, so stroke and enjoy.

"DG Hear, MFG, has a new one in the works. A change of pace from his recent "Thoughts" series; I think his fans will get on board with this one." Well, some did and some didn't. "Just a Date" had a nice premise, and you could like the characters, but the LW bombers were onto DG like whatever cliché you can think of.

Thanks Estragon, Story is still doing good, thanks to your editing. It's in Romance but lots of debates among the readers. 41 comments (which are great to read) and over 722 votes. Not bad for a day.

New one I'll submit on Thanksgiving. It is a loving wiffe. (of course you all ready know that). Thanks for mentioning my stories on your thread.

SilkStockingsLover has another entry for the Winter Holidays contest, and it is smoking hot. Watch for it.

Replete with turkey and cabernet sauvignon, I turn my attention to recent postings.

wantsomefun1951’s Mall Santa is a really good story, treating disabilities sensitively and sex orgasmically.

And Lucy1970Harker has got another class-A stroker with “The Tease”--the title says it all.

Rhythm and the Blue Line. SA Penn Lady wrote it. That says it all.

Grandmistress Lisa Jones finishes A Tangled Web. I do hope for a speedy return to Lit from a truly talented author, with whom I have sincerely enjoyed working.

Speaking of returns, where is Serenissima Syd? After the stormer series How to Save a Life, the fans are calling for more.

Storm62’s The Photograph was a truly well-written feel-good. A real fireside warmer; no sex, please, we’re British.

Jemma_Jane of Resolution fame has a new one in the works; might even be the first--of a series or something else.

Hoping Dark will give us one of his/her patented leader boards on Winter Holidays. I wonder how the runners are doing at the backstretch. I think SweetestThing holds onto the lead, but it's still anybody's race. And AFAIK the Hoover hasn't yet come through.
