For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

To illustrate some of the problems Ukraine faces with aid from western countries - Canada has just delivered a batch of LAV 6.0 ACSV armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. In September 2023, Canada promised to send 50 of these APCs over three years. The first vehicles arrived in Germany in June 2024 for training Ukrainian crews. Details on the number of vehicles delivered today are still unknown. In October 2024, a year later, they have just arrived in Ukraine. If you wonder why Ukraine is struggling to make progress against Russia, it's the slow drip feeding of aid amongst other things. Promises made are not equipment on the front with combat units, and many of those promises made have still not been fulfilled.

Joe Biden’s big blunder: how the war in Ukraine became a global disaster

Thirty months on, Biden’s containment strategy is failing miserably. Like an untreated cancer, Ukraine’s crisis metastasises uncontrollably. Far from being confined to the mud and ice of the Donbas, the war’s spreading, toxic fallout grows more globally destructive by the day. It contaminates and blights everything it touches.

At it's most basic, Biden fucked it up badly, and now Trump's going to have to fix the mess Biden created.

Interesting article from the UK's extreme-left rag. Seems it's now acceptable to criticize Genocide Joe.

Joe Biden’s big blunder: how the war in Ukraine became a global disaster

Thirty months on, Biden’s containment strategy is failing miserably.
In Cold War terms, the alternative to "containment" is "rollback" -- which was never an option then because of the risk of nuclear escalation, and, for the same reasons, is not an option now.

Croatia plans to send 30 upgraded M-84 tanks to Ukraine, while acquiring 50 new Leopard 2A8 tanks from Germany as part of an expanded defense collaboration. In the 1990s, Croatia inherited a fleet of Yugoslav-made M-84 tanks. Since 2008, all of them have been upgraded to the M-84A4 Sniper standard, and as of 2023, most have undergone overhauls and updated communication systems. The tank’s mobility has also been improved, with a new 1,000-horsepower V46-TK diesel engine and upgraded turret rotation and gun elevation mechanisms, says Militarnyi. However, the level of protection remained unchanged—during these upgrades, the tanks did not receive any add-on armor packages or reactive armor. On 28 October, Croatian and German Defense Ministers Ivan Anušić and Boris Pistorius signed a Letter of Intent in Berlin, which will be the first step toward equipment procurement.

The end result is Ukraine will get 30 M-84 tanks (an improved T72) and 30 M-80 infantry fighting vehicles. Every little bit helps.

There's been far too many from the White House, and it seems to me this is a deliberate sabotage. More evidence that Biden / Harris plan to throw Ukraine to the wolves.

Where is Ukraine going to get nukes? Will they build their own? (I suppose that's possible, using leftover Soviet infrastructure.)

Yup. They built most of the old Soviet nukes. Ukraine was where a lot of the old Soviet manufacturing sites were for rockets and nukes. They have a good few nuclear power stations, and these are the old Soviet ones. They have the nuclear scientists. They could easily throw together working nukes - and if they wanted, they could probably build dirty bombs as insurance right now. An "unnamed official" said that Ukraine has the materials and knowledge, and if ordered, the first bomb could be made in just a few weeks.
If Ukraine wanted to, it could potentially create nuclear weapons using spent nuclear fuel from its power plants, said regional security expert Oleksii Izhak from the National Institute for Strategic Studies, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine. "We have enough physicists who have always known, at least theoretically, how to create nuclear weapons. So, I think it's technically possible," he said.

Building nukes is pretty straightforward these days, particularly when you have your own nuclear power plants, the knowhow to enrich uranium and the scientists to do it. They now have a viable delivery system (the Hrim ballistic missile) and after all Putin's saber-rattling over nukes, the incentive to do it.

October of 2024 was the most militarily successful month for Russia since July of 2022. After months of sustained pressure, and mostly stagnant front lines, Russian troops have broken through and made significant gains in the Donbas region of Ukraine. According to the New York Times, Russian forces have secured more than 160 square miles there, and are capturing strategic towns along the way.

It seems as though the next goal for Russians in the Donbas is to take the strategic rail town, Pokrovsk, which would seriously inhibit Ukraine’s ability to resupply its forces in the region. Encirclement of this strategic city is likely as Ukraine has likely lost Selydove this week, a city which is only about 20 miles south of Pokrovsk.

Experts say Russia’s advances this past month are due to several factors. Analyst at the French Foundation for Strategic Research, Vincent Tourret, says that Ukraine is losing ground due to Russia’s use of powerful guided missiles, and Ukraine’s lack of fortifications in the region. According to Tourret, “Ukraine’s defenses are more and more battered, the terrain is more and more favorable for Russian offensives and, on top of that, the Russians have a better impact, the three factors combine to explain the increase in Russian gains.”

These losses, combined with reports that Ukrainian forces are overstretched, and the fact that North Korean soldiers are now present in the conflict do not bode well for Kyiv. Additionally, Ukraine is suffering from a lack of manpower, as well as low morale among its existing soldiers. To combat this, Kyiv has introduced a new mobilization drive, hoping to recruit an additional 160,000 soldiers.

Those North Korean troops are being deployed on Russian soil against the Ukrainian Kursk incursion.

I'm sure native Russians enjoy North Koreans hanging out in their towns. Can't wait to hear about how they welcomed them with open arms

There is no widespread news on the battlefield situation in Ukraine on any of the TV networks. The above is why. So many in the media climbed aboard this Biden train to defeat and now want no part of what is about to happen.

I'm a LOT smarter than you.
No your not any smarter.... in fact most of us here believe your an agent "provocateur".... in simple terms your the "range master in a shooting gallery" using the old slang term.... for a agent of a 3 letter government agency

I think you made a good point. Putin's tactical nuke threat could get a very disastrous response, dirty bombs in Moscow central.

Chloe, fabricating a nuke is far more complex than you may imagine, get it right yes you have reaction get it wrong you have a mess.... more likely the scenario is he (booger sugar) will be given the b61 tactical, they have the f16 launch platform
My guess is he(Zelensky) will be provided with tacticals at the time the US and nato enact a preemptive first strike...just my humble opinion.... keep in mind the ukies have only about 20% of their electrical grid remaining and winter is here..

He must spend a lot of time down range because he takes as many hits as the targets do. His problem is known as the Dunning-Kruger Effect, which manifests itself as cognitive bias. It occurs when individuals with low ability in a given task overestimate their competence. He lacks the knowledge or skills to recognize his mistakes, leading him to believe he's always right.

They are being employed on Russian soil in the Kursk salient against the Ukrainian invaders. Russian citizens in the area have been evacuated.

Yes, foreign troops in your town is always welcome 👍

Ukraine invaded in response to Russia and Russians are well aware of that...just as they are aware of the fact that North Koreans are there because Putin Invaded Ukraine
