For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

I would like to see all the current NATO members that are not meeting their agreed upon commitments to spend 2% of GDP on defense step up before adding new members. Only 11 out of 31 countries are meeting that threshold. There are some really bad apples, including our neighbors to the north.
They have to do something because today they are a paper tiger.

Here's a GAO report on the problems the Army faces in replenishing ammunition stocks. This administration has put us in a significant jam that could affect our ability to defend ourselves in the near term. China must be licking its chops:

https://www.gao.gov/assets/gao-23-105352.pdf
Given that report, please provide the parts (quotes) of the report that show that this administration (specifically) is responsible for adding burden to the munitions replenishment through changes to policies.

There's no need to. The President's orders to send millions of rounds to Ukraine are in the public domain and the President himself told the World that we were now short on ammunition.

Now That the Whole World Knows We're Low on Ammunition, Frantic Effort to Re-Arm Commences

By Bob Hoge | 10:00 PM on July 16, 2023

The entire world knows that the United States is low on firepower because President Joe Biden acted on his inexplicable desire to blurt out such information on CNN, telling Fareed Zakaria, “This is a war relating to munitions. And [Ukraine]… is running out of that ammunition, and we’re low on it.”

He also maintained that the shortage was one reason behind the controversial decision to send cluster munitions to Ukraine.

Now the U.S. is scrambling to strengthen stockpiles, according to John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council. (By the way, what does that title even mean?)

If you want to know about specific information do what I did and read the report and research it yourself. I'm tired of your lack of rigor and scholarship.

So the report, which you say shows that the administration's policies are causing the issue, doesn't actually show that the administration's policies are causing the issue.

And so you provide me with an opinion piece from a talking head who hates the administration.

Thanks for confirming and responding as expected.

Who was it who diverted funds from the military to pay for Mexico's wall anyway?

Edit - sorry, I misspelled 'losers and suckers'.

I'm confused again. Folks who have been telling us for years that the President can tell the world any information he wants are now upset because of that.

You're about an ignorant SOB. Here's what your leftwing CFR says. Scroll down through this list:

The government report you posted earlier does not say what you claimed it did.

Quit blaming me and just own up to that.
Nothing to own up to. The fact is Joe Biden has stupidly pursued this war in Ukraine by exhausting much of our own war stocks to the strategic detriment of the United States. So much so it might take a decade to resupply what he has given away. Donald Trump didn't do this, Joe and his compromised administration did. You've been happy to accept their lies on the subject as well.

We're still waiting for reports on the Ukrainian Spring Offensive. Even as far back as December of last year the cat was let out of the bag by European Commission’s President Ursula von der Leyen when she leaked that Ukraine had lost 100,000 dead:

https://tfiglobalnews.com/2022/12/0...reveals-the-imprudence-of-ukrainian-military/

RFK has said that Joe Biden has killed 300,000 Ukrainians in this war. Zelensky's Office the President called the statement "cynical and manipulative." But didn't say it was totally false.
https://tsn.ua/en/ato/a-us-politici...eaths-zelenskyy-s-team-responded-2326465.html

So where is the alleged offensive? I'll tell you where it is, it's dead on the field along the security zone in front of the Russian defensive line.

PS: Remember General Ben Hodges gaslighting the American people about how the Ukrainians would retake Crimea by the Spring of this year? What a clown.

You're a Putin stooge.

RG? I honestly feel the struggle you’re going through with the spending of money on Ukraine and welcome you and others on the right to the pesky life of being a peacenik pacifist. Dealing with the morality of war can be troublesome to folks new to the concept of morality, but, I’m here to help with a friendly go-to list when you’re confused.

- Neville Chamberlain is bad compared to Hitler but is good in comparison to a Dem.

- Defense spending is good if it allows you to brag about an ally like Israel, but bad when it is sent to an ally like Ukraine.

- Tearing up the Iran nuclear deal was a show of strength that lessened nuclear proliferation.

- A private conversation in Helsinki with your handler Vladimir Putin is always great when you’re without any military aides and use only his translator.

- Drone bombing an adversaries top general is how you initiate a peace summit.

- Building a wall is always good and Reagan was wrong lecturing Gorbachev about East Berlin.

- An invitation for talks with the Taliban on 911 is being woke to the sacrifice of the lives of self strapped bombers.

- It’s fine to cry about Obama obeying the Bush directive on pulling troops from Iraq.
It’s your pacifist duty to complain that Biden pulled troops from Afghanistan obeying the Trump pledge.

I know! I know!
It’s still all very confusing and I too, as an opposer to war, long for the days when America was Murica and all we needed to do was bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran and let Allah sort through the pieces.

Actually, you don't know anything and you presume a lot. We shouldn't have been in Iraq either and Afghanistan should only have been a violent punitive expedition lasting no more than six months.

Rand Paul Warns the US Is “Out of Ammo” and “Out of Money” in Ukraine War

Appearing on Fox News, Paul responded that the Biden administration is sending another billion dollars in aid to Ukraine.

“From a fiscal conservative perspective, it makes no sense to borrow money from China to send it to Ukraine,” Paul said.

“It’s not like we’re sending them surplus funds. It’s like, ‘Oh, we have surplus ammo around.'”

“We’re actually out of ammo now; we’re out of money. And so, there’s no real sense in continuing to do this,” Rand Paul also warned of the Ukraine war.

Joe Biden is an incompetent fool running an administration of incompetent fools.

Why Ukraine’s counter-offensive is failing
Diplomacy is more important than ever as Kyiv simply doesn’t have the human resources or physical infrastructure to achieve its goals.

Daniel L. Davis

As unpalatable as it is for all supporters of Ukraine, the most prudent course for Zelensky may now be to seek a negotiated settlement that preserves as much freedom and territory as possible for Kyiv. Ending the war now would end the deaths and injuries for tens of thousands of Ukraine’s brave and heroic fighters — men and women whom Kyiv will need to rebuild their country once the war ends.

The same month that Austin was claiming Ukraine had “a very good chance” to defeat Russia in Kyiv’s spring offensive, I wrote that embracing the concept “that Russia is going to lose the war could leave the West to be caught off guard if the Ukrainian offensive fails to materially degrade Russian positions.” One month before the start of the offensive, I explained the very practical reasons why the Ukrainian attack would almost certainly fail to achieve even modest gains.

To succeed in its operation to cut the Russian land bridge to Crimea, I wrote that Ukrainian troops would have to attack through multiple belts of elaborate Russian defenses “with limited offensive air power, limited air defense, insufficient quantities of artillery shells, and a force that is equipped with a hodgepodge of modern and antiquated armor — staffed by a mix of conscripts with no combat experience and some officers and men with basic training by NATO instructors.”

All of those factors have now predictably conspired to blunt Kyiv’s offensive, failing after six weeks of effort to even penetrate the first belt of the main Russian defensive lines.

Much more here on what I've been telling you all along:

https://responsiblestatecraft.org/2023/07/19/why-ukraines-counter-offensive-is-failing/

No matter how many times Zelensky appears in costume in front of the cheering bought and paid-for American legacy media, the facts are he's facing defeat. He and Joe Biden have adopted a policy that has destroyed a large part of Ukraine's male population, most of the energy infrastructure, and now sees most of the material wealth of Ukraine in the hands of the Russians. All because Joe Biden went along with a policy of no negotiation and a goal of degrading Russian military might and deposing Putin. It all failed as I said it would using the simple tools of Occam's Razor and Joe Biden's failed history in foreign policy.

You are the one who should re-read my post. Granted, I will admit it’s a bit highbrow, but I think it highlights how laughably bad the right is in embracing its newfound fondness for peace GTFOH.

Well, the last few days it appears that the news media is throwing the ukies under the bus, going so far as to state Ukraine is losing the conflict (imagine that?) Billions of dollars, thousands of lives and lies stacked on top of lies. Add that to the act of the Russians blockading the black sea. Ukraine/nato's future looks kinda grim.....

President Trump will fix it in 24 hours, if he doesn’t have to appear in court that day.

Eventually, we will see the truth of what Biden has wrought in Ukraine. All he's done is open the door for the social and economic destruction of Ukraine, recreate the Russian army as a formidable continental force, expose Nato as a paper tiger, and draw down US war stocks to levels that threaten our own security. We'll spend the next decade replacing billions in equipment that Ukraine purchased with a 10 million dollar bribe.
