I have been sucked into Ark Survival for over a year now...

This is something I refuse to de-install, because I believe one day I will get it.

I enjoy survival games (7 days to die, Don't starve, ...) but..I don't know, I don't think I ever lasted a week in Ark without dieing. Not because it's difficult, but at the end of the day I start poking things till they eat me.

lol I know how that goes.. spent 2 hours kiting a rex around with a slingshot once just to prove i could do it lol.

I think Console/PC gamers are missing out on a lot, not trying table top RPGs, but, I've been in situations where I had no group and no options for finding one. And I do love computer games. I think the whole "you're not a gamer" thing -which hoes both ways- is a sad state of affairs.

It's not for lack of desire that I don't play table top RPG's. It's for lack of real life friends living in the same timezone and area code as me.

If there is a card or game shop nearby you'll likely be able to find people that want to play. Plus, yay, new friends. :) I don't play tabletop much anymore but I can pretty much find people when I want to by going to a local shop. There are always people looking for players to fill in their groups. Even some of the local bars have board game night which is pretty fun too.

On another note, I get why some prefer video games to tabletop. I tried introducing it to someone that enjoys video games and he was interested and really liked hearing about the fun times I was having, but ultimately it came down to a group of friends talking and imagining up ridiculous scenarios. It was fun but it missed the excitement, challenge and visuals for him. Which is fine, I enjoy a little of everything but I don't consider myself much of a gamer. I'm rather casual in my endeavors.

Finally got time to finish Witcher 3 with all DLC. (previously only ran the main story)

What can I say? For me, it's the best game I've played in the last 10 years, for sure. Narration, graphics, style and gameplay - all are top-notch for me.

As for tabletop, I liked them previously. Now it so happens that most of my friends live in other cities, and I don't have a good company to play with.

From what I've seen it looks incredible.
It's on my list of games to play as soon as I upgrade my PC.

(How sad us it that I have games on my Steam account that I have bought against a future with a better laptop?)

Upcoming game releases 2017 I'm waiting for:

Vampyr
I'm so worried that this one is going to be a disappointment and not a worthy successor of Vampire: The Masquerade. So I'll wait for the first real user reviews before buying that one.

Divinity Original Sin 2
DOS 1 was all I like about RPGs, but I never really got into the 'oh, looks like we are gods without memory' story and stopped around 3/4 of it. They say they listened to the 'bland' main story feedback. We'll see.

South Park 2
Instant buy :D

Found a great new card game: Paperback.

It's like a mix between Dominion and Scrabble. You start with a deck of wild cards and common letters; on your turn you make words, which score according to the non-wild cards. You can use that score to buy new cards and add them to the deck: either wilds that give you points at the end of the game, or rarer letters and two-letter combinations, some of which have abilities when played. I've ordered myself a copy and expect to play this one a lot.

I was thinking about getting Zombicide, to play with my niece and nephew. I'm still reluctant because that's a steep price for a board game.

How have I not seen this thread before?

I don't put much effort into "keeping up" with games, so there's tons of games that have come out ages ago, and I've yet to play them. Currently playing Dragon Age: Origins for the 1st time. Very much enjoying it so far (only just started), it's definitely better than Skyrim, which was a huge disappointment to me when I played it for a while a few years ago. Only the characters seem very "uncanney valley" to my 2017 eyes.

Also (still) playing XCom 2 :)
