get some conversation going on the HT.

[throws party cuz bi's gonna be away]

er...

o! hi, bi!

[hides decorations behind back]

no, no: we weren't gonna throw a party or anything! why would you even ask such a thing?

:D

study, ace your classes and write some more!

bi: the only reason i even came back was because i knew you were gonna be leaving soon. ;)

bi, eilan, scalywag, SW: it's really a shame that i don't juice... then i'd have something to blame my... errr... shortcomings... on if i have to streak. however, i am still of the firm belief that i won't have to subject you all to such a travesty. SILVERWHSIPER's the one who should be preparing. start with windsprints in the livingroom.

the worse things smell, the better dogs like it. So, I won't be much of a distraction.

i guess this could explain why mine is constantly in my lap... as is the case right now.

Gawd, I need lessons. I can barely tell a robin from a bluejay. We did once have a hummingbird that used to flit around the deck but I haven't seen one in years. I wish I knew what attracted them, they're so pretty!

sugar-water.

get a basic hummingbird feeder (in the summer) and put sugar water in it. i forget the ratio, but just boil the sugar in water, let it cool and put the shit outside. they'll come in no time. don't bother with the commercial mixes... sugar's cheaper and some argue it's healthier.

I don't know what my mother-in-law puts in her hummingbird feeder, but we counted 10 of them around it after she filled it.

....called, interestingly, a butterfly bush.

Also had some white-breasted nuthatches this morning.

is it just me or does anyone else find it interesting that scalywag got "bush," "nut," and "breast" into a single paragraph... and it had nothing to do with sex whatsoever.

and in my earlier post I already covered pecker, tit, and chick ;)

Good, so it wasn't just me then, there must have been some very lonely ornithologists around when they were naming them.

Yup. Last year I had a Hairy Woodpecker come to one of the feeders. How's that for a name?

The only thing worse than that was the name of a guy that that was a customer where I worked a few years ago. His name: Harry Palmer.

It still makes me laugh.
He didn't happen to have his five daughters with him by chance?

I have worked with some Wankers... ok that wasn't their name, they were just wankers. ;)

My house is quiet. Too quiet. It's scary.

That must be because my husband took our two youngest girls and went to visit his parents this weekend. It's a working trip because my in-laws have a to-do list for him.

Not much for weekend plans here other than work on a couple of projects around the house. It will be a nice change of pace.

How about you? Its saturday morning there, isn't it?
It is. Have to go into work for a few hours, plus maybe service the vehicles, but all in all it's generally a quiet day and one that I quite enjoy. Sunday I will have the intention of catching up on all the things that need doing, however in reality I will probably only do one or too and then hopefully do stuff all for the rest of the day, might have a bbq lunch if the weather is fine.
