For me the two are concurrent in my primary relationship, it's not like D/s is the trellis and love is the vine working its way around that, it's like D/s and love are both vines on the same trellis working around one another.

Fantastic imagery here. It seems to me that if the pairing of partners is right, the elements of love and D/s would fuel one another. From what I gather, however, the power exchange usually comes first in these types of successes. I wonder what the success rate is when the love is first and later morphs into the braiding of vines you described earlier.

Wonderful thread! Decided I have to make a comment on this.

For be giving up control is part of being a sub. The more I give up control the more I fit into my sub space. BUT it really takes alot of trust and work on the part of both parties.
