Goth Girls of Lit

ok so see, this is my question. Your lovely sweetie here, Catalina, is very much a goth baby as we can all plainly see. However is is also very plainly visible she does not employ the over-use of heavy eye make-up and powdery white foundation. It seems, from what I've seen here, she is a very fresh faced girl with little to no make-up. Which brings me to my question: since this is obviously her 'look' yet she is still very much 'goth' in appearance, how come everyone (not just here) keeps telling me my eye make-up needs to be darker in order to 'pull off th goth look' for me? Is it just me that causes there to be a need for 'more eyes'? What's the harsh, y'all? *giggles*

LOL, she has her moments of heavy eye make-up, though so far I have never seen her go to the extremes I have seen others do. I do also think a lot of her local reputation is based on it being more than just a look as she has a great collection of respected goth literature/authors which she has read and can discuss intricately, hangs out in goth clubs, participates on goth forums, collects goth styled art, and also genuinely adores much of the music considered goth heaven...and I am jealous she has seen Manson live 2-3 times now, each time with a specially designed and made outfit for the occasion!! Last concert was a full length black leather skirt she had made which hugged her figure then came out at the bottom in a train which trailed behind. I just have to dream of such things like a Cinderella.

Catalina:catroar:

Which is so odd because I am so not goth! lol

Nope, not goth. I'm still happy with your punk-hipster-whatever look.

Your eyes, for lack of better vocabulary, are bright and open. Hers are dark and broody (regardless of the actual colour). I'm probably not explaining it well, but it is a characteristic of facial structure. Make-up can help with that, but some people just don't need it.

Good question.

I think it has something to do with the skin tone and facial features you start with. The scenery and her attire in those pics also contribute to the goth feeling.

But take me for instance. Au natural, and notwithstanding Homburg's opinion, I have a very 'sweet girl' kind of look. My bone structure, skin tone, and smily eyes all contribute to this 'good girl' look I think. So, in my case, in order to pull off the goth look, I have to go for heavy dark eye make-up and dark lipstick. And even then, I think I'd only look like a good girl trying to pass as a goth girl!

On the other hand, a very good friend of mine *cough cough* is very much like Cat's daughter: she wakes up in the morning with no make up on no black clothes on and she still has the goth look going on.

Y'know, that's hot on its' own.

And I'm sorry, but the evil is obvious in those glittering eyes.

I'm hopelessly Goth and despite getting married and having children, I've still not "grown of it." My writing is one of the ways I indulge my needs, and I hope anyone with a passing interest in this subculture finds it enjoyable. And yes, I'm a pagan and into BDSM. These three traits always seem to go hand in hand!

Anyway, I'm rather new to the whole posting and forum side of Literotica, but I'm having a lot of fun so far!

I just couldn't resist this topic. I always write to music and probably 90% of the time it's to Darkwave, Goth, Industrial or if I'm feeling really romantic, I might put on some Trance. I wish you could add a soundtrack to your work.

Anyway, off for now, but please feel free to read and offer feedback to my work:

Ok, that helps a little. :)

This helps even more. I think that is part of what Jim likes about me doing Goth for Him. I'm a good girl trying to pass for a goth girl. Not so much being a poser, since I posses a lot of the Gothic mentality anyway with out the 'look', but since I am a 'good little Christian girl' doing the 'bad Goth girl' thing is really hot for Him.

did any of that make sense?

madeto...My lord, you are beautiful!

Cat... Your daughter is gorgeous. i love "Mansonified."

Y'all are really tempting me to do the whole full Goth thing again for a "party" i am going to this weekend...

My favorite gothic moment is playing with this really butch girl on the bottom whose partner would periodically try to femme her out to NO avail.

But I got her weak spot. I said "I want to put you in drag. Gothic drag." We went shopping and bought blue extension hair to put in a black wig and dreaded it out. I put her in my huge ass boots and a leather corset.

I put violet-black lipstick on her "no fucking way makeup" lips. And she was squealing with glee in Goth drag all night.

Her wife was most appreciative. :)

And this is me trying the goth look.

I think I'll leave it for those who can really pull it off.

*poof*

I like it. Especially the second photo.

Rawr.

I'll match Homburg's rawr, and raise it a oh yeah!

I agree also about the choice, pic 2 has caught something very "goth" about you DB.
Even if you don't like the look all the time, don't ever think that you "don't do it well enough" if you ever want to go to a do as a goth girl.

Sweet gigi, thanks again for bringing this thread about
