Happiness is...

On my campus, there's a creek with a bridge over it. You could stand for hours just watching them with their little noses moving around. It's so incredibly peaceful and seems to put things in perspective. A great thinking place.

When I'd go to the Phoenix Zoo, happiness was watching the crawfish in the exhibits. Ok, not happiness, exactly, but I sure did laugh a lot at the idea of crawfish in a zoo!

That's interesting. I haven't seen a crawfish since I've been here. Then again, I don't know if I'd even recognize one if I did see one.

I also love going to the zoo when the world feels like it's spinning out of control. Being amongst the animals grounds me.

HI today....going to the Art Festival, brisk 60-64 degrees and coming home to vegetable beef soup that's been cooking in the crockpot. :cathappy:

thinking about being on a date in a restaurant where we can truly be ourselves... not having to sneak...

I read about this project in Woman's Day magazine and wanted to share it ~ it's an unusual and thoughtful idea that shows how simple it can be to give to others.

White Envelope Project

Joy and blessings for your holidays.

H I...

* Going to my nephew's basketball game then invited to have dinner with them even if his secret agenda was to get some help with a project. I'm a sucker for him and his sister ~ a very happy sucker.

* Seeing just a little snow fall.

* The Celtics ~ oh what a feeling! Obsession reborn.

* It's nice to read the happiness of others here.

Seeing my daughters.

Watching my daughters grow up.

Helping my friends.

Walking in my house and seeing my dog.

Awww, you're so right. When I go to the Phoenix Zoo I always stop and look at the turtles sunning themselves on the floating logs in the pond.

Isn't it amazing that the little things in life can make one happy?
I think true happiness and inner contentment come from the so called little things ~ like living between the lines sort of.

Happiness is finding exactly the right Christmas present for her.

Happiness is seeing the look on her face when she opens it.

...discovering what you want to do for the rest of your life.

And realizing that it's actually possible.

Seeing my sons face when hes having fun...it just lights up

Spending time with him while he plays computer games

Waking up next to my sweetie and seeing her first smile of the day

Seeing her name on my caller ID

Hot cinnamon rolls in the morning

Watching the sun rise over the ocean

That's not just happiness, that's pretty damn near perfect.

Happiness is...

* getting a call from my nephew about something I mentioned months ago and he could help me yesterday. I love that kid.

* making a dent in Christmas decorating, wrapping and shipping.

* seeing light at the end of the tunnel, or more like seeing the carpet again! Even though now I have to vacuum.

The family who had been lost in the snow in California are home! Fantastic news.

Happiness is

Being able to give, even some little things, to those I care for the most this Christmas, for it truly Is more blessed to give than receive.

sleeping naked against his warm naked body on a cold night, dont even have to try, you just feel loved in your sleep.

Having some normal time together.
Real life happening and enjoying every minute of it.
Knowing you will be coming home from work again to me.
:heart::kiss::rose:

My cats.

Zoe has a new "trick." When she has determined that I must wake up and feed them, she implores me verbally with a specific half meow sound right in my ear as she simultaneously picks at the comforter around my face with her paws.

As soon as I move, quick as lightning so does she, so that by the time I sit up in bed, she's sitting like a sentry at the bedroom door (like she was there the whole time and I imagined her up on the bed). The little minx.

Then there's Shasta, sitting at the other door, watching patiently, letting Zoe do the dirty work while he reaps the benefits of this sideshow. He's my pretty boy, like Joey on Friends--good thing he's pretty, because the lights are on and no one is home.

I just have to laugh and, of course, get out of my nice toasty covers to feed them.

LOL

When mine wants to be fed, she will sit very quietly in the kitchen doorway and just stare. I can feel those little kitty eyes on me like she was poking me. Not a peep, just those eyes.

A phone call with a good friend. Nice to know we can solve all the world's problems at 3 a.m.

writing the last few words of a story that's been unfinished for months.
