Happiness is...

happiness is in making another happy ...

... or having a bar of chocolate and a good book in a sun speckled garden...

.... or waking up to find your body entangled in another's warmth.

Knowing that in a few short days I will be home again.
Though a bit further from her, I know I will feel closer than ever.
Anticipating an amazing Valentine's Day

Being with someone who makes you feel special and important to them.

Happiness is:

--- that one smile, from that one person, that makes you feel that one way, that no one else can. :)

I'll add my own too:

Happiness is:

* spending time talking and getting to know a certain someone before you can meet in person.

* realizing/knowing that his opinion on the situation is the same as yours.

I'm certain there are others, but these seem to fit quite well at the moment. :)

Happiness is hearing the news that your favorite dog that you walked during your lunch hour has been adopted with her brother and that they now have happy, loving homes where they will be cherished.

I volunteer to walk shelter dogs for Sheriff Joe's M.A.S.H. unit, Pets on Probation Program. I am one of many who volunteer to walk these dogs who have been taken out of residences for various reasons. Sometimes the dog cannot be walked until they are released as evidence for a criminal trial.

Since October we've been walking dogs who were retrieved from a poorly run puppy mill. Over 140 animals in all were taken in at that time. I'm sure the volunteers haven't see all of the dogs, but when the dogs are healthy (my favorite had Parvo) and safe to be walked in public, we start walking them.

I was so worried that my girl wouldn't be adopted. She's a German Shepherd/retriever mix and was very exuberant and hard to control on a leash when her brother was nearby because she wanted to break away and play with him. But she was a sweetheart. If I had a home with a yard, I would have taken her home on day one. As it is, I am an apartment dweller with two cats and it wouldn't be fair to a dog in my situation.

I get a thrill every time one of these rescue dogs is adopted.

Happiness is realizing that everyone can make a difference. Denae's post brought it all home. I'm glad there's someone out there to help the dogs.

Happiness is finding CDs in the club room.....I wasn't greedy, I only took the Ray Charles today, but the Chopin is calling my name.

We have a bookshelf where residents can place CDs, DVDs, books and magazines they no longer want for others to enjoy.

Happiness is finding a Hershey's Bar in the refrig - excellent timing too. (I actually found 2! At the time of this post there is still one left -- for how long I do not know.)

Oooh! Oooh! Throw in a glass of good Cabernet and it's not happiness - it's HEAVEN!

(Inquiring minds want to know - is the second bar still around?)

Yes, Ms. Inquiring Mind, the second bar is still around and not in danger tonight. :D Of course that's because I found a bar of excellent dark chocolate a friend gave me.
