Actually the Collarme forums seem to have a lot more to say about toys they've made, where they've found the materials, and what they plan to do with the things they find at home depot.

I'm not creative, but my partner makes a LOT of very nice things, from furniture to toys. He made a great spanking bench out of materials he found at home depot: wood, foam, black paint, attachment points... the bench cover came from a fabric store, though.

This thread reminds me I really must get back to the plans I had for making velcro fastened cuffs....have priced all the materials, can get it on a shopping trip easily, just been side tracked. I also have the cane for making more canes, and did know where to get the finish I needed so have to re-check on that.

I've made quite a few things for home entertainment.

One of my favorites so far is the epoxy putty. You can make it into any shape (for instance anal or penis plugs) and let it harden.

A hitch pin can be used for urethral insert and connected to something.

C-Connectors can be used for CBT.

C-Clamps are excellent for nipple fun.

And on and on and on.

I'm actually looking for someone to help write stories using items like this. I have the creativity to use them, just not the literary ability.

If you would like suggestions, or if you want to make your own device let me know what you want and I will provide some recommendations.

But Home Depot an hardware stores are a plethora of fun just waiting to be explored.

Some types of epoxy continue to exude toxic compounds for a long time after it cures. Be careful with that. Food-grade epoxy is food-grade for a reason.

*nod* Just mentioning it. I work with epoxy here and there, and have had to learn that lesson. Just mentioned it so that no one would go grab whatever sort of epoxy they found to make an insertable toy, and then have somebody get toxic chemicals released in an area with reduced defenses against such things.

For the whips, what are the handles made of, and how do you make or attach them?

Or, for that matter, what are the whippy-parts made of?

Did you get the big rubber bands at the hardware store? I'd like to make a rubber flogger similar to that, but haven't seen rubber bands that big and can't think of another way to get my hands on a sheet of rubber easily.

Rubber tubings (worn out torn or changes tubes ... the pneumatic air filled kinds of the cars/bicycles!)

These tubes can be CUT in sections to make rubber bands .. they can be wound pretty tight and we used to make balls out of them ... placing a paper core and putting 'rubber bands' on it over and over again in different directions! ...

Similarly these 'rubber bands' can be used for the handles to hold the whip part to the handle...

Dunno if I was understood but I hope I was ...

Another good one is that these rubber bands are useful as 'bondage' for nipple/boobs too or may be 'strikers' for the boobs .... pull it and let it HIT ... THAP! It is a simple yet very striking thing ... those who have used rubber bands, would find this MUCH better ..

A suggestion though ... for the use on boobs for striking, thinner bands are useful (while cutting it, just cut it not so flat/thick!) and for 'holding/binding purpose for whip handles, they are made flatter (about 1/2 a cm thick would be good) and these are a bit difficcult to stretch but when wound, they hold REAL Good ...

Starting with coarser ones of 60 and going down to smooth ones of 400 or even 800 or 1000 even ...

A bit of talc wet with water/oil smeared on a cloth and using this to polish the cane and later dry talc on a smooth cloth to do the same would give it the SATIN FINISH! ...

It'd be soo smooth that when you run it, it'd be like a feather ... ... but yea ... until you strike that is! *winks

And yes, using warm and cold water to 'soak' and 'sprinkle' on the part to be spanked/caned would add to its effect ... (Just experiment how much force to use, cuz it hurts pretty bad!!! when water is used before using the devices!)

If you have the creative side you can even do your own mini dungeon if you know what to get. For example you can have a room in your house only for sex stuff you can create with stuff sold on home depot and then use it on your sub over and over again. I know a master( quote I said master, I have a mistress) who did that and his slave and him are very happy with the stuff he had done, it's all in imagination.

I have a pretty endlessly creative imagination. For the life of me, past the obvious (or seemingly so anyway) stuff, I can't think of the attraction. I totally see how it's an awsome place to get stuff to make cool shit, just not seeing where it can be all that great for prop purposes. Maybe I just haven't allowed myself to walk through much of the store because I'm paranoid if I find anything interesting then the checkout people will know my ulterior motice I have in mind for whatever I find.

I like it for small clamps and things, but I've never found rope that excited me there. Little bits of chain for connecting cuffs and things are handy - velcro straps can sometimes be found with enough staying power to use as bondage-to-bed points. It's not the wonderland for me that it is for some people -

I will say I prefer dedicated tack shops or leather shop crops for hitting people. The six dollar bat is a six dollar bat. I think I was spoiled badly by being pro, but the toys should excite you to hold.

We are pretty poor, so I thought this thread would be good, since I'm crafty person.... but I have to agree with you.

Deep down inside of me there is a rich princess that only wants to be whipped/hit/spanked with pretty well made things. Something about a cheap handmade item doesn't excite me. I guess I'll have to settle for a hand until we can afford something nice and extravagant.

These were the first pair of cuffs I made. I enjoy making my own stuff and get a great deal of accomplishment from making unique equipment. You only need a few basic hand tools and a little imagination to make a wide range of stuff.

many things can be made for fun & games. the mind is what it takes. ingenuity. if a person is good with hand tools & carpentry knowledge, the possibilities are endless. made a small ride for a freind a while back. she was interested in a sybian. made her a ride she could attach some of her dildoes to. built out of wood. she loves it. have watched her have many climaxes on this ride. she is the perfect fucktoy to tease, toy & play with for hours.

For me this is part of the fun. I checked out of a Big Lots with a dog collar, clips, rope, wooden spoons and a plastic and feather cat teaser that works for pain and pleasure. The check out girl seemed puzzled till I winked at her and she blushed with recognition.

A friend of mine has some gorgeous handmade canes. I would love to get some like hers, but the chap that made them is no longer in the business. Makes me think about doing some of my own.

And I know what you mean about the $6 bat. I've got one. I don't like hitting with it. The only thing I like about it is the length and rigidity makes it good for inspections. Essentially I use it like a swagger stick. Makes me think I'd be better off just getting a swagger stick.

Ok aside from the obvious things like clasps and chains, rope, and other restraint items.

I have made paddles from the ceiling fan blades. They are cheap to make so breakage isn't a problem. Customizing them with leather surfaces or rougher surfacing, different ways to make them individual, and then making slave identify them.

I also made whips from string. Made knots in some, even used thin rope to make a whip. Again alot of variety and all to play make the slave identify the item.

I only have one purchased whip, very heavy leather. Nice but not an all nighter.
The leather whips I have made use a thinner leather and in a variety of hardness. Some can break skin with the edge, others and soft as a babys butt. Still they all have uses.

I like to have a wide variety of implements at hand to use as my mood changes, and as the slaves changes as well. They also have a following when there are observers, which makes it more interesting.
