I've got to figure out how to properly share the pics I have of this... but a few weeks ago I took my daughters to my in-laws for the weekend. They had gotten rid of old & worn out play tents, so rather than go out and purchase new ones, they spent a few hours in high crafty mode & built a yurt in their basement.
A blanket fort with a circular wooden lattice wall, a door frame, and support beams connecting at the top in a wooden crown my father in law made using diagonal cuts I would have difficulty reproducing even if I did have access to his crazy wood shop. My 4 year old can stand in it... the thing looks like a miniature circus tent.
