yes, yes he does seem to be....probably just someone having fun with an alt.

Lamest alt ever. What kind of fun is that? Frick, alt's are supposed to stir shit up, not talk about current events

Until there are 250K angry people on the mall burning figures of Bush and Rumsfelt, this war that is funneling a river of cash into the poskets of BIG oil will continue to exploit the lives of us troops.

I wonder how much we'll have to pay for gas before that happens?

We always say "but look what they pay for a litre of gas" when we're trying to explain why European-style health coverage isn't possible here. Now we're almost paying as much and we get big fat freaking nothing other than gas for it.

So how much are you paying right now? We are at about 1,20 € per litre. And the tax and such on gas goes into the retirements, not into health.

I don't know what everyone else is paying but we're at about $2.50 a gallon.

Here... at the cheapest station in town, where they take only cash --no credit cards, no checks and no atm, I can get it for $2.49. If though, I have no cash and go to the conveniently located station with ATM I pay about $2.59 right now.

Yeah it gets higher, but no lower than 2.499 here. We only go to the one that sells it at 2.49, though. K drives a Jeep Grande Cherrokee, that thing guzzles gas like it's water. We'd get a new car, but we still owe money to my mother in law on it. As soon as we get it paid off we're getting something with better gas mileage.

Right now I get it for 2.46 a gal. Of course only because I buy it on base. I try not to drive too much though...mainly because my truck get 12.5 to the gal. Lucky for me there ain't much that's far from anywhere on this island! There's one place around that actually sells it for 2.35 a gal still, COSTCO. Unfortunately I did the math...I would spend more gas on the round trip to get the gas than I would save by buying it there.

I'm the worst driver ever, and therefore don't have a car or license. My little sister is going for hers on the 29th though!!! Then she can drive me places and bitch about gas prices

Hmmmm....maybe we can all pitch in a little and buy you a bumper car...
 :D :p

Interesting..... three hundred and forty-six dollars and fifty-two point somethin cents per gallon? Why do I think a conversion was missed? Hehehe

I was sick all weekend but I think I'm feeling better now. I'm going to get laid off in a week. I don't know if I should go with my COBRA or not. They want 450$ a month! But on the other hand, if I get some horrible disease that would seem a good investment...... Just got my lease renewal. Um what else. I figured out that I can massage my own back by rolling back and forth on a drumstick. Been doing that a lot. Re-reading the Alan Furst books......

I got a car. It's the colour of a blue Smartie, according to my sister.
It's also fairly fuel efficient (it's a Saturn)

Which makes me feel a bit better. Gas did break 3 bucks here in rural northern California... But you still have 40 cents on us up there!

Sorry to hear you have been sick, Rosco. My husband had the choice of paying for Cobra or not, unfortunately our pricetag was much higher. We gambled, and fortunately won, but the peace of mind insurance buys cannot be underestimated.

When you're insured, it's like a weight off. When you aren't, there is always that 'hold-your-breath' kind of feeling when the littles start running and playing. God forbid they should get on the monkey bars.

Gas has shot up to $2.89 here in my town. *shudder* I have a full sized van... siiiiiiiiiiiiigh...

Petrol [or gas as it's called up North of the Equator] cost me 122.9 cents a litre. Using the conversion rate as posted by canadiancutie that makes it $4.65 gal.

Gas [LPG] only costs 49.9 cents per litre.

Thank the Goddess for dual-fuel cars. :)
