Isolated BDSM Blurts: Facehugger Fetish

Buying an apartment is so much work.

Why can't I just give my money to someone and tell them to find me the place and be happy with it? Why do I have to be such a control freak and picky and annoying? I really wish I was better at the seeing the potential thing. And why can't I have infinite monies? Why???

It's the last part mostly, right? That would solve a lot of churn...Good luck.

There’s really only been one place that would have been great but beyond our price range, so weirdly not having infinite monies isn’t such a big issue. The real problem is that what we’re looking for is basically a unicorn. There are only so many places that are the right size in the areas we’re looking from. It’s mostly smaller apartments or really big apartments here and I don’t want a really big one. And like the size issue weren’t a problem enough, I’m also so fussy... I’m my own worst enemy.

Gotta find something in the next six months because we can’t stay here after December.

The first time we bought, we looked at over 30 houses. I drove the real estate agent crazy but there's a lot of crap out for which people want top dollar. We ended up buying new construction about 6 miles out of town. I loved that place but we had to move again after 10 years.

Don’t be afraid to look outside the box though.
The house we are in doesn’t tick many of the boxes I said I had but it turned out to tick some that I didn’t even know about. We’ve been happu with it for over 15 years.

Oh yeah, I've noticed the same that people seem to be willing to pay a lot of money for a lot of crap.

Yeah, I've tried to broaden my horizons a little... Mostly because people are telling me my expectations are way too high. But I also feel like if I pay a truck load of money for a box to live in, I want it to be the kind of box I want and like. :D

What annoys me is that a lot of the apartments have been renovated to fit a sauna, which from my perspective is just a waste of space. I rather go to a proper, big public sauna less often than to a poor to mediocre cupboard-like sauna in my own apartment more often.

Sounds like you need to sit down with a checklist and negotiate with yourself...:D

Also do you risk your citizenship saying things like that?

I hope you manage to find a place! I've heard about the sauna tradition in apartments there as well. A nice sauna with friends is fantastic though, it's just so incredibly relaxing.

Agree! I have on sauna at home...separate building in my backyard. Very nice with a cool electric stove and since wide benches. Even has speakers with a little Bluetooth stereo in the warming room so I can listen to books or music.

I also have one at our lake place...separate building again but wood burning stove. No lights or stereo, so much more rustic. But only about 30’ from the lake so perfect for cooling off year round, although in winter we have to cut a hole in the ice first!

Having it in a separate building that’s made to be a sauna is fine. Having a closet sized sauna in a one or two bedroom apartment is just a waste of space. When you use it, it heats up and muggies the entire apartment for a while, so that’s not fun. They also tend to be poor saunas, because they’re small, the stove can’t be positioned ideally etc. So for me it’s a much better deal to use the sauna space for something else and go to sauna elsewhere where the stove is good and the experience is better. Not all saunas are equal.

Although when I have lived in an apartment with a sauna, it’s been very handy for dehydrating mushrooms, so that’s a positive.

That is very true! Have you been to Löyly in Helsinki? We went when I was there for work a few years back. It was very neat...big...great heat, swimming in the water between sessions. Very nice!

Yes, I've been there. It's not my favorite of the public saunas, but it's very popular and the architecture is interesting. It's a little too trendy for me, but access to water is the big advantage it has over some of my more preferred public saunas.

One day I’m going to lose my mind and actually pay 15 euros ($18 US) for this packet of Reese’s cereal. I’ve been looking at these cereals for years now. I just want to try them once, they’re probably awful anyway. Anyone want to go halfsies with me?

And hey, at least they’re not the most expensive cereal there.

Does a quick calculation, 15 euro, $18US, um $22CDN!??!?! Is that because there is an high tax on junk food? I think a big box here is like $5CDN, but I never buy that stuff.

Haha, your cereal is double the size too. 😂

It’s not a tax thing, it’s just an expensive specialty item.

*gags*
It is beyond me why anyone would take something as sublime as Reese's and do that.

OMG! You need a care package!

But will it pass thru customs unmolested is the question.

Was thinking the same. Seems to be cheaper bought online here. Still crazy though.

Seeing a license plate frame that read “Be nice to me, I might be your nurse someday.” Bitch, I’d specifically deny you the chance because you’re a piece of shit with threats like that.

As an RN, I’m appalled.

I’m not surprised by the sentiment considering I have a low opinion of the hospital nearby. I just imagine she’s one of the shitty staff there. And much like the baby killing hospital I grew up near, even if dying I would refuse to go there.

Somebody watched One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and thought it was a recruiting video.

1984 is a How-To guide isn't it?

It’s hard for me to view healthcare as anything other than exploiting sick people for money because of where I live. I’ve never had a good view of the healthcare system and it’s always seemed to cause me a lot of hardships throughout my life.

The good/bad news is that I have a diagnosis and am trying treatment but I may be doing this for the rest of my life…

Better to know and a good thing that there is treatment.

There is no betrayal worse than the self sabotage of a dream that fucks with your head at 3am.

The only thing that works for me is to get up, and come fully awake. Read a bit, do some laundry, have a cup of chocolate...anything to break the chain and reboot.
