Meet Mia Love. You'll be seeing a lot more of her.

Oh fuck.

You really went there, didn't you?

This is the kind of shit that means that she'll never be anything but a token to you fucks. And I wish she could read this shit, to know what she's actually representing.

I bet she wouldn't have won if her hair wasn't relaxed. You fuckers couldn't stand real blackness if it put itself in front of your faces.

I don't consider her to be a token. And I do consider her to be black, despite her relaxed hair. I may not agree with all her views, but I find her to be impressive. I'm glad to see someone like her succeed in the GOP.

Wasn't it Chris Rock?

"She speaks so well. She's so well spoken.,

No white candidate EVER gets this shit. NONE.

Hey, Query. What you got to say about this shit?

Use your white privilege for good for a fucking change and write me a War And Peace-length explanation on how Mia Love captured the hearts and minds of conservative America because she's (according to Vette) so fucking articulate.

Maybe you can call up Jamaal in Cleveland for a backup if you're stuck, ya think?

On topic, it is impressive to me. I don't buy the arguments that she only won by x amount of votes, or it being an "off year". Winning is winning, and she's earned it.

But there is a lot more work to do if the Republicans really want to attract minorities to their cause. Just the fact that this thread was made and commented on shows just how far the GOP has to go. The goal is not just to elect minorities, but to be a party that minorities want to vote for. Without the latter you may never win the Presidency again.

Personally, I hope they do start to attract more minorities to their cause. There is a lot to like about conservatism, but the GOP has to get out of it's own way first.

You didn't shred shit Luke. You aren't smart enough to shred that argument, Adobe personnel have already weighed in on it and agree the internet posted copy was a fraud.

Yes, birther. The fake one was deemed fake by Adobe. You obviously don't remember the thread.

Seems you and I are pretty much on the same page here.

Unfortunely, this is how you think.

I s'pose you think Clarence Thomas, Associate Justice of the supreme court is just a "token" also.

Are we, seriously, still discussing Obama's birth certificate?

I don't consider her to be a token.

Actually, you do. It's the reason this thread exists.

Just for the record: I have no problem whatsoever with Republicans taking note of "firsts" and historic breakthroughs in their ranks. I had no problem with Mormons being especially excited at the prospect of a LDS president, and (naturally) saw nothing wrong with black Americans taking pride in putting a black man in the White House.

What I object to is having it both ways. You want to highlight Mia Love while at the same time pretending to ignore the reason she's being highlighted.

It is what it is. It's a good thing, but it's way to early for the GOP to start blowing each other over their diversity . . .

;)

She deserves more respect than being called "articulate."

It's like you gave her a cookie or a dog biscuit for passing English class.

If you really stand up for her, then call Vette out on that racist bullshit. If you can't do that, then your support for her is bunk.

So, I take it you consider Obama to be a token?

I noticed he used that word, and winced a little, but I figured he didn't understand the connotation involved.

If her election is another step to ridding not only public discussion but internal dialogue of "those people" and "utes" and "Jamals," I'm all for it.

I noticed he used that word, and winced a little, but I figured he didn't understand the connotation involved.

Oh he understands the connotation very well. History and all of that. He's part of that generation, you see. That generation where you call every Black person who gets beyond college "articulate" because it's fucking rare and an accolade.

Now, will you call him out on that? Since you stand up for her?

If he admits to understanding the connotation, then yes, I will call him out on it.

Dude.

Don't wait for his bullshit.

He fucking insulted someone you respect.

Fucking slam him for doing this and let him come back at you if he's got the balls.
