nh's big book of Dr. visits.

So I got tired of playing phone tag with the clinic, so I stopped in there today and demanded to have a meeting with the Dr.

I bargained with the Dr. My biopsy results showed the cancer in situ, but showed a very small improvement in the dysplasia. So the meds I"m taking and the changes I've been making seem to be helping.

So here's the deal. I agreed to have a LEEP next Thursday. I'll wait three months and then I'll have another Pap. If that Pap is abnormal at ALL, we are scheduling a total hysterectomy. So we'll give my body another few months to clear it all up and if it doesn't then we'll rip it all out..LOL

I also stopped in at the college today and signed up for classes. I'm taking a few easy classes just to get going. It'll be considered full time, but it's only six hours a week and it's in the evenings. So I won't have to change my work schedule at all.

I'm not going to say it out loud..but things just may be on an upswing. :)

I had no idea this thread existed until now! I'm so out of the loop! I'm sorry you're going through this. You're obviously a trooper. I hope all goes well after the LEEP. :rose:

I'm glad you're feeling better about everything, and I LOVE the hair. Good luck with classes.:)

That's teh cutez!

Great cut and color but most important ... you look hot & cute :rose:

Awww...thank you everyone! :kiss:I know I have some PM's to answer too btw. Been a bit crazy around here lately. I'll get to them, I promise.:)

My LEEP is in two days.:( I stopped and bought some antioxidants today to add to my daily meds because I heard it can help me fight off the HPV. So here's hoping.:)

No worries. We're all having a 'Get Well NH' party and probably won't check our inboxes for a bit.

Getting ready to go have the LEEP done. I'm not sure how I"ll be feeling later, but I'll try to update everyone as soon as I can. I'm really nervous.:(

Best of luck to one of my favorite girls in the whole world! I'll be thinking of you! (Even though I'm relatively sure the procedure is already over now.)

Sorry it took me so long to update. I slept all afternoon. The procedure went well. He cut three large chunks out of my cervix. Now we wait, I go back in four weeks to make sure he got it all, and to see if my healthy cells are staying healthy. He explained to me that while he got the cancer today, I still have the virus causing it, so to him the outlook wasn't good. :( It wasn't a very nice thing to tell me.

I'm very, very sore, but doing ok right now. The LEEP was a lot more painful then they said it was going to be, but not on the scale of having children or anything..LOL.

Thank you all for your support. I love you guys!

Oh, and NOTHING in the vagina for the next four weeks.:eek::eek::eek:

Oh, and NOTHING in the vagina for the next four weeks.:eek::eek::eek:

That is so gonna suck. :(

But I hope it'll go by really fast for you and then when you go back in four weeks that everything's gone.

Then you should come see me.

You're a nurse, darlin'. Would you rather he fibbed to you or told you the truth so that you could expect (be prepared for) bad news in a month and thus be ecstatic when you got good news? Knowing you, once you've thought about it, I think you'd opt that he be truthful with you and treat you like an adult rather than like a child who has to be protected against bad possibilities. :rose:

We lurvez you, too.

Like the Bunz said, that kinda sucks - which is probably what you'll be doing a lot of for the next four weeks ;) - but I don't think, with large chunks having been excised from your interior, you'd be much in the mood for any of that for at least a *little* while, anyhoo. :p

It's one hurdle at a time. You've cleared this one, bask in the moment. We'll be here for the next one.

And hey, you know how fond we all are of you now.

I know, I'm glad he was honest. I already knew it myself, but hated hearing it anyway. :( I may not be ready for sex yet, but my mind doesn't know that. I had naughty dreams all night!

Awwww..I absolutely  you!

It is a step forward, and the really aggressive cells are gone. If it pops up again, you have a much stronger argument for taking the whole thing out.

Either way, You are better off than you were last week.

I really don't understand the medical profession

You had cancer in situ. You still have the virus which caused it. Wouldn't the safest option be to have a hysterectomy rather than put you through pain and mental anguish, only to tell you the outlook isn't good? :( Especially if you have finished having kids.

Sir's daughter was told when she had her second child (2 months prem) at age 26 that to have another child would kill her. Yet they would not tie her tubes because "she was too young"  So if she got pregnant she would have to go through all the stress of a termination because to have the baby would be a death sentence. Explain to me the reason behind that decision

I believe she has since had the op but they wouldn't do it before she turned 30!

Absolutely. Although a bit more sore.:(

I don't get it either. Master says it's a money thing. As long as they can keep charging for LEEP's. It's insane.

I had my tubes tied at 24 when I had my second child. But, I wasn't really given a choice they considered it a medical necessity when my son broke my pelvis.

So today I had my cervical biopsy. I'm starting a thread to keep everyone updated, and I was hoping if it didn't bother anyone to use as a kind of diary, or place to vent. I've grown to really care about a lot of you here, and have gotten a ton of support. I'm actually starting this thread before I have even called my mother. LOL Besides Master, bunny and Mister Sir were the first to know. So I hope it's welcome.

Ok my results. She found two spots today that are really advanced. In the last month and a half the dysplasia has progressed a lot. She said it doesn't even look like the same cervix. So instead of cutting one chunk out of me today, she had to take two.

It sucked ass. They put a vinegar solution over the cervix before they do the biopsy so I currently feel like I've had a flaming torch shoved up my cunt.

I will not have official results for three weeks. However she's done enough of these procedures that she feels comfortable giving an initial diagnosis.

She diagnosed the two spots that are advanced as cancer. Now they are most likely still in situ. Which means like a tumor that hasn't spread. So if I'm lucky it will remain that way until they can get off of their asses to take care of it. It's scary to me though because of how far it's progressed so quickly. She will absolutely do nothing for three weeks. I have no insurance and go to a clinic. I'm private pay, so things don't get done quickly. I have no way to change that at the present.

The next step could be one of a few things. Cutting out the cancerous parts, chemo, or removal of the cervix and possibly uterus. Won't know that for a few weeks.

I have decided also not to see the lady who performed the procedure today, again. So that may mean more waiting to see the chick I like. But I need that for my sanity.

See here's the thing. I've been ashamed to talk about this, and I shouldn't be so here goes.

My cancer is caused by a HPV infection. It's officially considered a STD. However about 93% of people have had it in their lifetime. Men can't even be tested, so it's assumed if you've has sex you've had it. Most women fight it off within the first year or two and it never causes problems. For some reason my body has not fought it off. I have a bad immune system. The longer you have the virus in your body, the longer it will cause complications, and cancer. For some unknown reason we cannot get my body to fight it off. As long as it's there, it will cause complications.

There are two types of HPV one causes genital warts and is fairly harmless. I don't have that type. So no warts here. woo hoo..LOL. I have high risk HPV which is what causes cancer.

Anyway I asked the Dr. if I was at higher risk for anal cancer too. As HPV is linked to 90% of cervical and anal cancers. She says well only if you're having anal sex. Umm..Ok yeah and I have been for years. She yells a me! Tells me that anal cancer kills and that I shouldn't be having anal sex, no one should.

That was enough to piss me off. If anal sex makes me some kind of freak to her, I'd hate to know if she really knew anything about me. So for my sanity I'm waiting until I can see the lady I like.

Plus she was talking about how bad my cervix had gotten to the nurse like I wasn't even there. I'm a person! I'm also a nurse! I'm not dumb, talk to me bitch!

So this is what I have so far. I appreciate all the well wishes and support I've gotten thus far. I love you guys!

I'm sure they take lessons on how to treat the patient like shit also another class to degrade the wife/ partner/ significant other as an idiot as BANDIT:heart: has suffered when we have tried to explain my health issues, medications etc. I make a point about being as un polite as possible when doctors do this to me & loud at doing it, I have managed to educate several of these idiot doctors.
I also have problems when doctors screw with my meds when I know they are wrong & I've proved them wrong many times.
I'm now emailing my state health minester, state opposition health minister & also the federal ministers, saving the email to forward on to the TV media programs that thrive on stories like this.

nh23 BANDIT:heart: & I will be keeping an eye on this thread & thankyou for posting on hers as it does help her knowing others care.
