Online --> RT relationships

I'm snickering, because the only places I appeared when I googled myself have to do with my past association with a Chamber of Commerce Training and Education Committee I volunteered on for a couple of years.

Googling my screen name came up with a few old threads here, and my profile in another place. Along with some group I have no affiliation with, apparently they're involved in law enforcement somehow.

So, what's the verdict when there's essentially Jack Shit about somebody when you Google them?

Master made a comment one time that he got bored and googled his screen name and a whole lot of stuff came up. Well, of course I had to see for myself. Mostly it came up with morpg sites and lit and a few other places, but the kicker was all the sites that came up in Japanese. My ex studies Japanese and I have a couple of his dictionaries laying around, that combined with the few of the sites that had english in them led to the conclution that Master is a laundry product in Japan.

I told him it reminded me of that episode of the simpson's where they find homer's face on a Japanese cerial box. Mr. Sunshine I think it was. *giggles*

I've had LD relationships for a long time. MasterPhoenix's quit is perfect. If you want something badly enough, you make it happen.

One of my girls is coming home to me later this year, with another coming possibly as soon as mid-to-late 2008.

I have had relationships with women as far away as New Zealand (that 18 hour time difference was a killer at times), but I have never limited myself those whom I develop an interest and/or feelings for to mere distance. In the Information Age, you can reach someone almost anywhere on the planet instantly, so why limit yourself? It all depends on what you want out of the relationship and where the relationship is going, as well as the wands and need of the other person involved.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I met many local and from overseas while I was looking and while they were usually fine gentlemen, they weren't the right one....until F. He flew 16,000km to meet me, we married 2 weeks later and 4 years+ on, we do not regret it.

Out of curiosity:

How many of you have "met" someone online, hit it off, decide to meet, and actually end up dating (etc) as a result?

I don't mean just having a shag, either.

I mean became involved in a serious relationship of some kind.

Those who've had it go wrong, feel free to comment as well.

As for me, personally, I did actually meet a gorgeous Londoner online, who flew all the over here to meet me. He spent the weekend. Called me 5 times a day for the next two months (and managed to not seem needy, somehow). He was fantastic.

Until I googled him.

Ladies, google is your friend. If the bastard youre dating has done anything worth telling the world, believe me, its already in google.
