Nice Camera, Eh?
Turn Off Yer Date And Time Function Though...It Makes For An Annoyance If You Get That Perfect Shot And It's Uncroppable
tolyk said:Yeah, 35mm So I'm a bit more careful now about what I shoot. I'm very much enjoying it
But I'm off to bed.. leave for a vacation early tomorrow morning.
tolyk said:Fuji makes decent cameras, and yeah if you're happy with a point and shoot by all means keep shooting with it I was very discontent with my point and shoot digital, but it was a gift and I had no means to upgrade until recently, so I kept using it anyways. I mean, I still use it now, but more for snapshots when out with friends, etc. And I take it along with me when I'm out doing a photoshoot with my film camera, so I can snap a shot quickly just to see how it looks on the digital display
What kind of camera did you use for that Joey? It's a great shot I don't think my current equipment can even get the moon to look so big, even with it being a harvest moon.joeys-game said:Took a pic of the moon tonight, being harvest moon..

Thanks for the pointers Maverick I won't be looking into getting a new camera for a whiles to come, as I just finally saved enough to buy this one a couple months ago. I'm still adapting from the change from point & shoot to SLR, but I think I'm learning at a decent pace, so I'm content
I dunno, I've never stumbled upon a formula for shooting the moon, nor have I tested it very thoroughlyGoneAViking said:If i remember right. The fomula for shooting the moon if 1/ISO at f11. That meens that shutter speed should be 1/400 with 400 ISO film. Did I remember that wrong?

MaverickMan said:The rule of thumb for shooting the full moon is to use a full sun aperture setting for the f-stop and focal length of the lens you are using. This is because the reflected light of the sun on the full moon is very close to the amount of light reflected from normal objects on a sunny day.
This site has a fairly complete discussion of the subject for less than full moon shots.

Thanks, glad you liked 'em.CandyLipps said:These are gorgeous!
I just received a Nikon D80 for my birthday! It will be fun figuring it out and playing around with it.
